The newest Grimlish needs some threads!  Dates for the Manic Pixie Dream Girl, business at WWW, Ministry hassles for Misuse of Muggle Artifacts (natch), Grimlish family camaraderie (of course), her quixotic (and long-term) quest to visit the Moon somehow?  I'm open for anything!

One early idea I had is that she's enthusiastic and devious, but lacks sensible restraint when it comes to pranks - an enterprising criminal might commission some "innocent chaos" from her that turns out to be a diversion for something else.

I think Cassie and Monty would probably find common ground. He wants to get flying cars legalised in the UK after twenty years over in the US where they are (er, see bio for actual long story of how that happened, it's a bit complicated), and recently made the Head of Magical Accidents and Catastrophe's car fly (witnessed by Muggles). He is a portrait painter by trade, so would be able to add an artistic bent on her projects if they were friendly. His eldest daughter, Theta is within a few years of Cassie.

By extension, Francis, his brother is also a tinkerer but in an official capacity with the Ministry making time-turners. He's a Muggle sympathiser, and knows the Grimlishes (probably via Opie Marietta whoops). We could easily assume the two families know each other better, are friendly - and that also gives you the link through to the Hughes.

Whereabouts is Cassie living at the moment? Theta was moved in somewhere in Diagon area with a now retired character written by SJ. They might make for a curious pairing in a flat, inventing and the likes (equally Theta could move out of the flat she was in to move into a space with Cassie say to help pay bills, it is flexible)

Cassie's been around a while IC (although not OOC) so it would be nice to help you have some established friendships, to which I offer you Johann who is becoming more adjusted to a Muggle way of life since moving in with Colin Downer (Armiece) last summer. They'd be able to talk until the cows came home about the moon and such - and certainly if she were to be more open to letting him loose on the internet, he'd adore her (Colin doesn't trust him with his laptop)

If she has caused or has the potential to cause a magical catastrophe, I'm sure she has brushed with Edwin (Dept of MAC) whether via work with WW being warned or otherwise. Her furniture was probably logged on the 'could be trouble' list. (I had a good chuckle at the furniture, so going to have Sir Cadogan racing through portraits yelling as a desk gallops down a corridor as a strange moment in a Hogwarts thread some day).

I am exciteeeed...I've been stalking for a plot thread for Cassie since she's been up XD. I think she and Lala could really get along, and being more muggle than wizarding, still, she could supply Cassie with and endless supply of muggle knowledge and technology, because that's her main love. She can't actually live long without a PC, iPhone and her PS3 and X-box. And she'd be so interested in helping Cassie in any way possible to finding magical alternatives to her main loves. Also they're both a bit wacky, scatterbrained, creative and seem to have a passion for unique fashion choices and colored hair, Lala hasn't seen her natural hair color in ages. While Lala's particular brand of crazy leans more towards the party till you drop dead side, she's got no problems assisting in pranks, causing good-hearted misery to others is always fun. She would've been a year behind her

So yeah, there's that.

One of those long thinking but haven't done anything with yet thread idea plot nuggety things I've had is Dotty robbing Weasley Wizard Wheezes one night to kick off some contrived plot things but not anymore really and as Cassie works there part time, fancy a burglary thread? She closing up shop or whatever reasoning to have her there late?

I had assumed she's still living at the Grimlish mansion at the moment - even aside from family bonding, free rent and workshop space is nothing to sniff at!  But going along with the "trying to distinguish herself from her sisters" thing, she really needs to get her own place eventually.  We could do some threads to get that ball rolling.

Sure! Though I don't think Cassie fully understands the Internet herself - she doesn't have a working computer, since they rarely survive her initial examination/disassembly.

Ha!  She definitely has the potential...there may have been indications with the furniture prank that early on in the process she tried to make the charms 'contagious' (to save effort and time enchanting everything individually), but couldn't quite manage it.

How does Layla feel about the occupants of portraits?  Is she protective of their 'feelings'?  It seems to me that a group-portrait could be combined with some sort of controllers (maybe just wands) and do a decent imitation of a console fighting game - might be hard on the 'participants' though.  Now that I think about it, if you mass-produced cards that worked similarly, you could have the wizarding equivalent of GB Pokemon...base it off of wizard chess pieces instead, and you've got Skylanders...if even one of these worked, they could get rich! >

Yes!  OMG, that sounds incredibly fun!  Though the two of them may end up using or breaking more merchandise in the confrontation than Dotty would have gotten away with in the first place if she'd been undiscovered...bwahaha.  Poor George...even if wizarding society actually has insurance, somehow I doubt anyone would risk extending it to 3W, given the contents...

The Hughes are related to the Peppers, so they are one big extended family.

Oh no worries, I made an assumption there it seems. If Cassie and Layla hit it off we have a few more routes to tying those two together in the future, so perhaps we'll revisit that some point later
