[Feb 3-?] School is Important, but so is Quidditch [Roger Davies] on June 27, 2013, 07:44:24 PM February 3, 2010Mr. Davies,I don't know if you remember me, but we met after one of your games and you said that I could write you if I had any Quidditch questions. Mum says that you must be really busy, but I thought I could at least ask, and if you don't have time then don't worry about it.Next year, I can start trying out for the Quidditch team at Hogwarts, but I'm not sure what positions I want to try for. I already promised that I wouldn't try for Beater, but that leaves three other positions to choose from and I don't know where to start with picking one.Let alone figuring out a broom. They might release a lot of those over the summer with the World Cup, so I suppose I should wait until then. Any thoughts you have would be most appreciated.Thank you very much.~Rowena KnightThere are several small footprints running along the side of the letter, as if a cat had stepped in ink and then walked along. I promised Father and Mother I wouldn't try out for Beater, they were worried that I was more likely to be hurt in that position. Mother already worries enough, I don't want to add to it.I'm a little better at catching than throwing. My sister doesn't like to practice much with me, but I'm trying to get some of my housemates to do it with me. Maybe it'll be easier once it's spring and everything is warmer out.Is there anything particular you'd suggest for practicing? I've looked through a bunch of stuff in the library already, though I haven't found much at all. Maybe I'm not reading the right books.I'll wait to look at brooms until I can try them out, then. Can't wait until summer. Thank you again, Rowena Knight Skip to next post Re: [Feb 3-?] School is Important, but so is Quidditch [Roger Davies] Reply #3 on July 15, 2013, 05:27:21 PM Skip to next post Re: [Feb 3-?] School is Important, but so is Quidditch [Roger Davies] Reply #4 on July 20, 2013, 01:39:02 PM February 12Roger,I think Boudicca likes your letters, she always curls up on them whenever I get one and I have to shoo her off to read. Silly kitten. She's well though, I've managed to keep her from eating any of the sweets Mum sends. And I suppose you're right, maybe I'll try some beater exercises and see how they go. I don't think the Keeper position is going to be open, our team captain plays it now. But I should be able to get into one of the other positions, especially if I practice more.I'll ask Madam Hooch, she has to have more time now that most of us first years have passed flying. Not sure if any of my older housemates would be interested, but I guess I can ask! Think I can spare the time from studying, it goes a lot faster when my sister and I do it together. Mum hasn't even sent me too many books to read lately. It does feel weird calling you Roger, though. Most of the people at school are much less formal than Father, it was strange to get used to at first. My sister's always been better with manners than I am, though.~Rowena Knight Skip to next post
