The knock on the door finally came and Roxanne was first to get to the door. She looked through the peephole, Mark and James were in their partying clothes. "Hey! Happy Birthday!" Roxanne said as she opened the door. Little Baby PJ gurgled in his baby carrier. "Ha, thanks. And thanks for taking care of the little tyke for me." Jim said, striding into the apartment as Roxie extended a hand. It had been the first time since Jim had attained Paul that he left him with a babysitter. Mrs. Hunter had watched him for a few minutes here and there, but never for a whole night.
Mark had called earlier, asking in advance if Roxanne and Hadley would babysit his godson, and since the girl's really didn't have any plans, so they decided, why not? It was Jane she was honestly worried about, the older Hunter daughter was unpredictable at sometimes and Roxie really didn't know how Jane would react around the baby, if she would be too loud and scare him or make him cry, which really would put a damper on things. James swung a collapsible crib in a mesh bag over and off his shoulder, along with a diaper bag and few other odds and ends.
Jim knew he had to get out of there before Jane realized he was in her apartment, he really didn't feel like being tackled by a crazy ginger on his birthday. "There's food and toys in that bag, and all his changing stuff is in that bag, i packed his white noise machine in the toy bag, I think. Did I forget the white noise machine?" James dug around in the bag on his knees. "Op, it's here, no worries."
"Jim, don't worry, he'll be fine here, go have fun on your birthday, we can keep him as late as you want tomorrow, I have nothing going on." Roxanne assured her neighbor. "And you might wanna get the hell out of here before your sister sniffs him out." Roxie said to Mark, finally taking PJ's baby carrier from Jim.
