[February 5] What Time Is It Again (Gigi, Walt, PM) on June 09, 2013, 01:28:13 PM The Ravenclaw was only vaguely aware that his left cheek had come to rest on the buttered dinner roll. The house elves had applied a generous amount of butter to the roll (one of the many strategies Sasha suspected they'd devised to increase the amount of calories he consumed) and it was providing ample cushioning between his face and the just stale ridges of the bread. Luckily, he'd just missed falling asleep in the leftover potato soup that had grown cold in the bottom of the bowl next to the bread. He hadn't intended on falling asleep in his late dinner, it had just happened. It had just been one of those Thursdays. The finishing up homework and studying had started from well before his first class and lunch had been a mad dash to polish off his Potion's essay. He'd worked through dinner and his lesson with Mr. Morgan had capitalized on those three hours between Divination and their practical Astronomy class. He was in the habit of packing along food for the day - this was hardly a rare and unexpected occurrence - but, by the time he'd finished with his classes at 12:30, he'd had an apple, a couple slices of cheese and two muesli bars to get him through the day. He knew the curfew rules, of course. He'd been enforcing them for a year and half as a prefect. Following Astronomy, they were expected to head directly back to their dorms. And, Sasha had every intentions of doing just that - after a quick detour to the kitchens to, finally, eat something. It would have even been a successful quick detour had Sasha not attempted to edit his Transfiguration report while eating. Halfway through the meal and essay, he'd nodded off. Gigi was probably going to regret in the morning, well, one could argue it was already morning, but the sort she preferred to see only while killing internet dragons. For not being that, the patrol wasn't bad. Walton was a decent sort, even if the paladin schtick got on her nerves sometimes. Gryffindors were paladins. She, of course, was a rogue, and Ravenclaws seemed to ooze that whole wizard archetype. Maybe that made Hufflepuffs NPCs.But late. Rogue needs caffeine badly. And the kitchen was a legit place for a patrol, people who were out sneaking needed food as much as anyone else. Not that she'd have bet on catching anyone there.Least not til she walked in and saw a certain bundle of awkward with his face on a dinner roll. "Oy, Schlagenweit. Don't think the food pillow will be catching on." She crossed her arms and tried to keep her expression stern as she glared at him. Wouldn't do to break out laughing. Even at a buttered Schlawkward. He still wasn't entirely sure how in the hell she had landed herself a prefect badge, and wasn't entirely sure he agreed with it, but there were certainly worse Slytherins among the bunch. Of course, if having to choose, he'd probably prefer to be on patrol with Whitman. His attitude was better and he felt a sort of mutual respect. Whitman wanted to be head boy next year, and Walt had no problems in guiding him a little along the way. Someone had to take up the post when he left Hogwarts, and out of the current options it basically boiled down to Whitman or Harcroft- either of them would make a great choice, as far as he could tell. He'd lazily strolled along behind Georgiana as she made her way to the kitchen. Coffee would be nice, and she was right- the kitchen was a legitimate place to check out on their patrol. He let her go in behind the painting first, and he followed suit. They were greeted graciously by the house elves, and Walton gave them an easy small and politely requested some coffee for himself and the prefect he had in tow.Walton was a little surprised to hear Trishna start speaking, and it was then that he realized Sasha was asleep on a buttered roll. He couldn't help but chuckle when he noticed the homework spread out in front of him. "Not exactly the opportune place for late night studying, is it?" he asked. He looked down as a small creature handed him a large mug of coffee, Walt thanked the house elf and poured some cream and sugar into his cup and stirred it up. "Looks like you could use a cup yourself, Sasha. You know you really aren't supposed to be down here this time of night." Walton's tone was casual, not at all authoritative. Sasha was a friend, busting him for being out after hours didn't even come to mind. His only reaction was mild concern at Sasha's partially buttered state and obvious lack of sleep. And, Walt and Georgiana were both prefects and it was after curfew. Which was probably why they were here. But, how long after curfew was it? “I’m sorry,” he offered, though only Georgiana seemed at all upset. “What time is it?” How much sleep had he gotten? One of the elves appeared at his elbow, offering a damp cloth and a cup of coffee. Sasha took it and sipped at the coffee while wiping the butter from his cheek. "Not exactly the opportune place for late night studying, is it?...You know you really aren't supposed to be down here this time of night." “I know. I’m sorry,” he repeated. “I missed lunch and dinner so I just stopped by to grab something. I was just studying a little while I ate. I had every intentions of heading back up to the tower immediately after but-“ Well, the reason for the delay was obvious. Gigi looked over to Walton for confirmation, nearly missing the cup of coffee one of the House Elves offered her. "Late."Too late for him to be out, respectable Schlagenwut yeah right. "Better get yourself up to sleep then." She kept a bit of a disapproving glare on him. Dork brigade, out breaking rules for the of studying later really? Were there any worse reasons?"You can talk to house head after sleeps." Also known as her dork brother who inflicted peeps on her while she was trying to catch up on WoW had the house really needed that many people esp fourth years. Esp esp Oliver and her screaming of abs. Let Tappy handle this, was his job to be all disapproving of bad nerds anyways. But Sasha, rule breaking and things? Not letting that slide, nope nope. Totes doing her job, behaving and all that. "You really need to get into better eating habits, Sasha. You can take half an hour out of your day to get to the great hall when meals are being served. I know you've got a lot to get done with all of your school work, but you really shouldn't make it a habit of skipping meals and popping into the kitchens late at night. Even if for no other reason than those bad eating habits are hell on your metabolism and aren't exactly healthy."He shifted his gaze to Georgiana as she stated that Sasha could talk to his head of house after he got some rest. "Yeah, you'll need to talk to Professor Trishna to see whether or not he thinks you need to do a detention. It's not that big of a deal- I mean, you are breaking the rules but you're not really causing any trouble. Even so..." Walt trailed off a little, fidgeting a bit. He knew, as head boy, it was his duty to enforce the rules and to do his best to be fair about it. Sasha was his friend, he really didn't mind that he'd caught Sasha out late, but he also knew that if it was someone he didn't consider a good friend he'd probably be a bit more stern with them. "Even so," he continued, "I'll have to dock you a few points for the infraction. It's only fair." Walton took a few sips from his coffee. "You're lucky it was me and Georgiana who caught you. If Harcroft or Whitman stumbled upon you down here, they'd probably take more than a few. You don't exactly have the most exemplary record, Schlagenweit." Walton didn't like to bring up Sasha's past, but needed to make sure his Ravenclaw friend understood exactly how petty some people could be. Especially those who took rules to seriously or people who liked to find excuses to over punish people from other houses. He wasn't sure what Sasha's relationship was with Whitman, but wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't exactly good. "And you were a prefect for a long time, so you really ought to know better." Had he really slept on a dinner roll for two hours? It must be getting towards the end of the week. As always, Georgiana seemed to be finding her own amusement in the situation. But, stubbornly, he shook off the recommendation (...instruction...direction...whatever it was) to head to bed. Georgiana probably knew better by now, anyway. She'd had two weeks to observe his minimal sleeping habit. "I'm still not used to, you know, curfews mattering. But, I'm already a couple house behind," Sasha pointed out. Two hours, specifically, if she was right about the time. "He'll just probably give me more sleep detentions," Sasha voiced as he handed the remnants of his dinner-turned-midnight snack to an all too eager looking elf. Of course, he'd follow through and speak with Professor Trishna, but the conversation would be nothing new. Of course, he'd return to Ravenclaw tower, as he did most nights. He nodded, at first, when Walt mentioned the fairness of taking point. That seemed reasonable. But, he paused at the mention of his disciplinary record. "Why?" He asked, scowling at his friend. "To what are you referring? Because I resigned from being a prefect? Is that what you all are saying about me?" He glanced between Walt and Georgiana. As far as Sasha knew, the reasons behind him loosing his prefect badge were still being kept between the Heads of House and Professor Storm. He'd had a few stumbles (some, admittedly, major) but he was wanting to get his life back on track. "I'm not some Gryffindor hooligan." Or people. Gigi just about rolled her eyes back into her head at him, how could people not appreciate sleep. "If you're a couple 'house' behind then you can manage sleep detention. Sounds like the cuddliest detention ever."Oh noes, he got sleep detention. Gigi couldn't help the mental facepalm. One she repeated once he got defensive. Infinite mental facepalm. "Lions aren't the only ones to act up. Don't think we have time to recite all your past muck-ups though, there's this thing called sleeping I'd like to try tonight. Points, then riddle door." Urge to not be working all night was barely edging out the desire to wallow in this-could always do that later. She took a very long drink of her coffee and then gave Mr. Repeat Offender a proper glare.
