Valentine's Day was just a few short hours away, a holiday centered around being with a special someone.  She would worry about the romantic holiday tomorrow though, tonight Moira was out for a much anticipated lady's night out with her coworkers.  She had thought it would be a good opportunity to get to know some of the ladies she worked with outside their roles at the hospital.  After all, one couldn't just a person simply on their professional persona.

She had arrived a few minutes early to ensure the tables had been set according to the reservation she had made.  The restaurant would give the ladies in attendance a chance to talk, but the club aspect of it would allow for a bit more fun as the evening progressed.  Calaveras had seemed like the natural choice.

Wandering over to the bar to wait for the others she ordered a whiskey, sipping at the glass and surveying the location for the evening's festivities.

What a great way to sort-of celebrate a promotion than going out with friends from work? It had been a little more than a week, actually... almost two weeks since Hadley had become an actual Healer. She wasn't actually celebrating tonight, not like crazy celebrating anyways, but she'd allow herself to have some fun as a treat for working hard to get to this point.

She entered the selected venue for the night, Calaveras, and approached the hostess. Cautiously, she asked for where the tables were that Moira had reserved and was led to them. After setting down her purse and shrugging off her jacket, she noticed Moira standing by a bar, drink already in hand.

A bright smile on her face, chipper little Hadley made her way over to her still new friend. Or more acquaintance. She hadn't spent a lot of time with really any of the people working at St. Mungo's, so she hoped that by the end of the night she could actually say that she had some friends at work. A few solid friends, it would be nice.

"Moira!" She greeted with a grin, and a quick friendly hug. "How are you doing?" She asked after ordering herself a drink, a simple Butterbeer would do for now. It would satisfy Hadley's sweet tooth, and she could have the comfort of drinking something out a chilled bottle, as was her normal routine after work occasionally.

"Ladies!" Elixa greeted, arms out to either side and a bright smile across her face. Her dark hair was curled loosely around her shoulders and she wore a black dress and long boots beneath a deep red cloak.

She embraced each of them in turn and placed a kiss on either cheek with a warm, if not possibly over-friendly welcome to each of them.

"Great suggestion to get out tonight, shake it up amongst the couples." In a well practiced motion she swung the cloak from her shoulders, and twirled her wand so it reduced and vanished into her bag.

"My favourite cloak," she informed Hadley with a grin, "for that little trick," she winked and looked to Moira.
"Whiskey? Been that sort of day?"

"I'm doing well, and you?" Moira asked returning Hadley's hug.  "Congratulations on your promotion."

She gave the other woman a genuine smile.  Hadley was a hard worker, and Moira certainly respected that.  Their jobs were not always easy and it took a great deal of dedication to complete the necessary training and continue on a path in healing.   Elixa arrived next and again she returned the warm greeting.  It felt good to forget about all the romantic notions connected to this particular weekend and just have a night out with the girls.

"Whiskey? Been that sort of day?"

"I think it's been that sort of year," Moira said with a slight shrug.  Steering the subject away from that she added, "I'm glad you ladies could make it.  Our table is right over there."

"Excellent." Elixa exclaimed, heading over towards the table with strong, though short due to her height, strides. "About time we had a night out, well, from what I've heard," she admitted, having only been around a month or so.

They soon found their seats and Elixa flicked open the menu lazily, more interested in her counterparts for the moment.
"Been here before you two? Any recommendations?" She slid her finger down the list, her eyes raising and regarding the wider crowd a moment before returning to her colleagues. Never knew when she might run into a nice young man...

"Good to go out together as ladies on a weekend like this, eh?"
