[January 23] Burning off anger (Avalon) on June 01, 2013, 10:38:32 AM Chloe sat on her broom, rather high in the air, looking at the hoops about 30 feet away. She needed to practice her long throws. Well, she didn't, but throwing heavy objects made her tired, and she had a lot of pent up anger from Mason, and Heinrich, and Rohan, and pretty much, everyone was just pissing her off. It was her favorite way to burn off her anger. Being up there, feeling the wind in her hair, and feeling the numb of the cold. It was refreshing, and always helped her clear her mind. Chloe pictured the hoop, trying to aim the best she could. But then she realized her Quaffle was still on the turf. She didn't want to fly all the way down and get it, and then reset her position. She was tired of having to do extra things just because she was Chloe. Chloe stripped off her hat, and her gloves, tucked them into the hat, and tied her scarf around the mess. It started drizzling, and she didn't really care if her pigtail braids got wet. She didn't really care about anything. Chloe readjusted, and threw the glove/hat/scarf/mess at the middle hoop. ...And it fell short. "DAMNIT! DAMNIT, DAMNIT, DAMNIT ALL!" She shouted from her broom, clutching the shaft tightly. She sailed back down to the ground, steaming mad, as she gave the mess-ball a good, hard, kick. He had a bit of mud on one cheek and his clothes were ruined. It truly was the very picture of his childhood, but he was winded and clearly pleased. A little run never killed anyone, and the rain was refreshing. However, dodging a hat..gloves..and scarf had been a little tricky and his too long legs got the better of him. "DAMNIT! DAMNIT, DAMNIT, DAMNIT ALL!" The voice broke through the mist, and the Ravenclaw's curiosity got the better of him. Chloe's term this year certainly hadn't been the best, and he always worried about her anymore. It was good to break out into the outdoors, and work off a bit of steam. However, her hair matched her face and it certainly didn't look like the healthy sort of frustration. He didn't have anything to communicate with her, his wand didn't do well in his gym pants and the holster got in the way of his jog. His book bag was inside, and all the pens and parchment were with it. But his expression spoke a lot for him, his careful hands holding up her belongings to offer them to her, and his concern written across his face like a song. Are you alright? He mouthed the words, between his puffs, the cool down of his run always the worst part as the cold air burned his lungs, and made him look frail with his face flushed with a pink color. He was always so nice, and for the past year, she needed all the kindness that she could get. It was because of him that she had mastered lip reading, and also how she mastered the art of studying boring History Of Magic dates. He had always been kind to her and helped her out when she needed it. She considered him a good friend, and here he was, caring about her once more. She took the substitute quaffle. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little fired up is all," She stated grumpily. She picked up the actual quaffle, and her broom, holding it all, as she looked back at her friend. "I'm off my game. I'm off my game, my grades are slipping, Mum and Dad won't send me letters, and it's all just," She yelled out, kicking the actual quaffle, and sending it sailing away. "I don't even know why I try anymore! I'm rubbish at Quidditch, I'm rubbish at schoolwork, I'm rubbish with friends, I'm just all so blood rubbish!" She yelled, exhaling hard. "It's all so stupid, and I don't even want to deal with it anymore." She said, tears pricking at the corner of her eyes, as she crossed her arms. "I'm so done." It broke his heart to see, but he listened for the half truths that she wasn't saying.I wasn't good enough for him.Sometimes he was thankful for the way the rain fell, and wondered if Chloe felt it too. Her red hot anger could not be quenched with kind words or even gentle brushes of skin to skin. No she needed a much higher intervention, the sort of redemption that came with change, or the bit of comfort that was felt in accomplishing something impossible. He couldn't help her with that, not in the way that would heal her, but he could be a good friend. He could stay here with her until the rage passed, but as Avalon felt himself fighting back a bit of laughter (she was just so darn cute when her face bunched up in anger) he reached out to take her hand. However, closer to her now, her tears caught his attention and everything in Avalon's body froze. This wasn't one of those times, he thought to himself, that laughter would fix everything. He couldn't whisk her away and play like he could when Evelyn was having a bad day, nor get into trouble like he did with Phillip. No. Tears meant trouble, and his mother once told him the only cure for heartache was affection so Avalon did what seemed the most logical. He wrapped her up in the confines of his arm, the fortress of his father's barrel chest that often looked out of his place on his underdeveloped body. Someday he would be a beast like his old man, but for now his boyish figure could hardly bench his own weight. Yet, he could hold her tight, and where no words were needed (as he never had any) he offered her what he could. You are good enough. You are exactly as you should be. She hadn't gotten a real hug in a while, and it was that feeling that pushed her over the edge. As much as she tried to stay strong, the tears were stronger, as they overflowed, and on to Avalon. She hadn't cried like this with anyone since the break up. She hadn't gotten to get it all out, and she was just trying to bottle it all up. She thought she could just carry on like it was nothing. But Chloe was wrong. She couldn't just continue ignoring her feelings. "It's hard. It's so, so hard." She whispered into him, before pulling away. She read his lips, and she shook her head. "I wasn't good enough for Heinrich. I'm not good enough for Mason. I'm not good enough for anyone." She said, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand. "Sorry, I, I didn't mean to just dump everything on you like that." She said, with a smile. Her hair getting wet. The rain always helped her mood. It cooled her down, and made her head seem a little clearer. "You're a good guy, Avalon." She told him with a smile. It was nice of him to just pay attention to her like that, and help her like that. He was good at this whole friendship thing, and she need that right now. All she ever needed was a good friend. Yeah sure, Thea was cool, and sure, Katherine was nice, but the thing was, Avalon was completely different. She didn't know how, or why. He was just different. Better different. He listened as she did her best to just try to keep it all together, and he never once let her go. Avalon even helped dry a few of her tears as he still listened to everything she was saying, and he hated it that there wasn't anything that could be fixed. He couldn't make this better, because frankly it wasn't his place. He couldn't bring them back, nor could he force her heart to heal, and if he had a voice to offer he would sing her a thousand songs to take away the pain. It was what he did best, and though it often planted him in 'friend zone' he would make that sacrifice to see his friends always smile. Very rarely did it frustrate him that he couldn't speak, but as the rain fell--the misty cold drizzle made him feel to very vacant as he wanted to shake those words from her lips. The protest came when with a shake of his head, but he couldn't answer her like he wanted. This was one of the few times when he wanted to shout at the top of his lungs, but he would be fine with even having a pen. Avalon left his wand as well his bag when he went for runs, and he knew it was a stupid idea. "You're a good guy, Avalon."With a shrug he kicked a bit of the dirt as his body started to cool in the weather now, his run finished. He smelled he feared, and perhaps should have let her carry on. But he didn't want Chloe to be out here like this. She shouldn't be flying so upset, but if she was anything like he was he knew that it was a way to release a bit of tension. Avalon gave a little motion back to the castle, where warm clothes waited and he could get his book to write with her. Explain that there were a few things she still had yet to look forward to this year, and that a little heartbreak never truly broke anyone for long. Though, he wasn't an expert on it, and rather innocent in the whole process. Yet, she didn't need to know that, and he would even carry her broom for her as that was what proper gentlemen did. She smiled. trying to wipe the mascara away from her cheeks. She hated when it ran down, and it always attracted looks. It was easier to just not wear mascara, but she was still Chloe no matter if she was flying or not. Mascara was a necessity. She threw her broom over her shoulder, and scooped up the Quaffle under her other arm. She shouldn't have flown angrily. What if she had fallen or something? It was dangerous of her to do. And stupid. Chloe started to head back to the castle, her hair sufficiantly wet, and she was tired from the excersize and fron everything in general. She just wanted to go back to her room and take a nap. Naps were good things, but she also wanted t otalk wtih Avalon some more. He made her feel better by just being there. She was always seeking out companionship. Skip to next post
