SPEED DATING
Table Eight: Adelebert Hughes and Pandora Puddifoot

Date: 14th of February, 2010
Time: 8:30 P.M.
Setting: Puddifoot’s. The small venue is decorated in pink and white, with paper hearts hanging from the ceiling that have been charmed to say in a sing-song voice ‘I love you’ every five minutes. Each table is dressed in a pink or white table cloth, with a small, burning candle at its center that smells of roses and warm cinnamon. Each couple has their table situated at a few feet from the other in order to lend for solitude and privacy. At one end of Puddifoot’s is a longer table with pink punch and many different snacks that are free for all, while the kitchen is also open for those wishing to order anything elaborate. At the longer table are the organizers of the event, with a Valentine decorated box present to receive any donations you might wish to put forwards for the charity of your choice.

You will have been led to your table by one of the charmed Cupid dolls that are flying about the room.
Love.

It makes the world go ‘round, it’s the breath of life, and is obviously the most powerful force in the universe. Love makes ordinary men do extraordinary things. Loooooooooooove was what made Pandora Puddifoot’s heart beat. Though often it made her heart beat faster and faster, she thrived off the thrill of first encounters – that spark of chemistry that no potion, spell, or hex could ever imitate. Seeing a beautiful face for the first time, a gentleman opening doors for the lady, a late-night drink with a random stranger – they were all ways to get to know someone, and though they all felt different, it was all still love… or lust… but loooooooooooove.

Dora was so proud to be able to hold a dating event for Valentine’s Day. Harry had said something about charity, and while that was great and all, wasn’t bringing people together charity in and of itself? A wide smile split the witch’s face as she made her way to the table, giggling slightly at the doll that directed her. Even in your own shop, you’re stuck with magical dolls flapping around your head. Not that she minded, the dolls were adorable and the decorations were just perfect! She’d tried to convince the rest of the group into even more decorations, but everyone else thought less was more… and Dora was outvoted.

Dressed in a fluffy pink dress, Dora sat daintily in her chair, and waited for her date. She was early, but how could one be ‘on time’ to their own shop? She’d been there all day, setting up and waiting for the fun to begin. The smile on her face showed that even though others weren’t as thrilled with the event as they should be, they wouldn’t dampen her spirit! This was going to be amazing!
