Physical Description:
Elizabeth gets her height from her mother. And that isn’t much height, as she stands at a measly 5 feet 2 inches, an inch shorter than her mother, though a whole foot shorter than her father. She takes quite a bit after her mother, with her lightly tanned skin and big honey-brown eyes. From her father, she gains her medium brown hair and the angled chin at the bottom of her round face. As for her smile, that again she gets from her mother. It’s a very sweet smile complete with shallow dimples, and Liza very much likes it.

Liza isn’t a sporty person, but does stay in shape thanks to a high metabolism and a love of long walks. Often times she’ll be seen wandering around campus with some book in her hand.  She usually wears her hair down with a natural curl to it. Sometimes Liza puts her hair up, but normally it’s when she’s intently focusing on her homework.


Personality Description:
Liza is a very smart girl.  She isn’t one to take sass, and can usually see right through a lie.  These are things she learned from her mother (who was the oldest over three brothers).  She usually doesn’t care too much for people who are lazy, especially in class. If someone needs help with their classes though, Liza wouldn’t mind helping as she loves teaching.  But if someone tries to use her to do their homework, she wouldn’t take to that very kindly.

Aside from that, she really does enjoy being around people.  Helping people especially is one of her favorite hobbies, aside from reading.  Liza is very much a social butterfly.  Being muggleborn, almost everything about the wizarding world is fascinating to her and she loves hearing about other people’s families and their hobbies.

Along with that, she loves reading all kinds of books about the wizarding world.  She’s very smart and has a very good mind for memorization. Some people would think that she takes on a lot at a time, but she’s very good at organization and focusing on whatever tasks she has to do.  Liza is a good teacher and leader, and respects those in positions of authority.  But if someone is abusing their authority, she has no problem telling them that they are in the wrong.


History:
Elizabeth Louise Edwards was born to Sophia and Edward Edwards on a very lovely summer afternoon.  She was named Elizabeth after her father’s grandmother, and Louise after her mother’s mother.  Liza grew up much loved, especially in the tea room that her mother owned.  There were a lot of elderly women who often had tea there, and just adored the little girl.

As she was growing up, her parents would notice different odd things that happened around Liza.  They would take away a favorite toy, and somehow it would always end back up in her crib.  They went to get her hair cut and it got a bit shorter than they’d liked, and the next day it was a good few inches longer! Eventually, when Liza turned 11, a representative from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry came to inform her parents that she possessed a good amount of magical ability and they would like to train her as a witch. Her mother fainted, and her father stared at the man incredulously. Wizards? Surely they didn’t exist!

But as Edward Edwards was a man who loved to learn, and a teacher, far be it from him to deny his daughter what seemed to him the education of a lifetime. Of course, he couldn’t share to all of his friends that his daughter was a witch.  Liza’s parents had to make up a story about their daughter being accepted to a prodigious school in another country, and decided they would send their daughter to Hogwarts.  Together they braved the journey to Diagon Alley, making a few useful friends who helped them gather Elizabeth’s necessities for her first year.

Eliza devoted much time to learning.  She wrote home often to tell her parents of her different classes (the three of them all getting used to using owl post together). When she started Divination and learned about reading tea leaves, she amused her mother very much when she next went home.  She even performed a few amateur readings in her mum’s tea room for some of the amused old ladies. But the classes she most enjoyed were those that used wandwork.  Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and especially Transfiguration.

As she's now halfway through her final year at Hogwarts, many of her teachers have been asking her what she would like to do after those final exams.  That's probably been the most nerve-wracking thing for her. Liza knows that eventually she would like to be a teacher. But first, she does want somewhat of a more exciting job.  Keeping in touch with the fact that she is a muggleborn, she's thought about interning with the Muggle Affairs office.  But there's also been encouragement from a teacher or two that she could be a good addition to the Aurors. That would definitely be a lot of excitement for Liza, and her parents assure her she'd be great at whichever she decides on.  Not to be so sure of herself, but she does have the grades and skill for most of what being an Auror calls for, and she would rather enjoy it.  And she loves the idea of using her magical abilities for helping others.

Muggleborn and proud, Elizabeth (Liza) Edwards is very much a typical Ravenclaw who loves to learn. She also very much enjoys helping others if they need help with classes, even if it’s one she doesn’t necessarily like. She’s not one to take much crap from anyone, even challenging authority if they’re in the wrong, but is very sweet otherwise.  She enjoys meeting new people and learning as much as she can about the wizarding world.

What Experience has Prepared You For This Honor?:
Elizabeth has always been in the top of her classes, and dedicated time to help other students.  She would never turn down a student who asked for her help in class, or whatever else would be bothering them.  Liza has always respected authority and been very good at performing what is asked of her.  Having been a Prefect for both her 5th and 6th years, she's come to know the castle, as well as many of the students.  She's seen a lot of different tricks played, most often on unknowing 1st years.  Liza has gotten very good at judging character and intent. Also, most of her teachers have been impressed with her ability to manage her time well, and always produce top work along with the responsibility she has been given.

What Do You Think the Most Important Aspect of This Job Is:?
The most important duty would be to keep the students from breaking the rules and the school descending into chaos. Elizabeth will have to lead the other Prefects, and perform walks of the castle to make sure everyone is doing as they should. Without a strong leader, the Prefects wouldn't be as inspired to do the best at their roles, and that's what Liza would see to do. If even the Prefects couldn't be inspired to do their jobs, then even more students would have lest respect for the rules.

Tell a Story From Your Past That Has Proven Your Mettle: 
Having held the position of Prefect for the past two years, Elizabeth has gotten to know the ins an outs required in the role.   She knows the difference between students who break rules on purpose, and ones who may have accidentally done so due to another student leading them to it. She always works hard and would never deny anyone help if they required it. Liza can have a firm hand when she requires, especially if someone tries to deliberately get away with something bad. 

Even though there are those who would say her being muggleborn means she's not as good, she has learned to get over it.  Liza wants to be a good role model for others, especially for the younger students, and other muggleborn students.  No matter what, she wants the other students to know that by the Head Girl badge, she's not just a figure of authority, but a friend.  Whether they need help finding their class or just someone to talk to, Liza is someone who can be relied upon.
