Speed Dating 101 (Sixth Years or above + Adults) on May 19, 2013, 05:09:12 PM SPEED DATING CHARITY EVENT*Waves everyone in*So, as far as I can tell -although I might be entirely wrong-, this hasn't ever been done on AO, but I have seen it done quite succesfully on other sites, and thought it might be a fun idea to try out: SPEED DATING!How Does It Work?Well, the first step is signing up your character. You can sign up as many as you wish for the event. Students are allowed, as long as they are 16 or older. We'll set the date for a Hogsmeade Weekend so they may attend.Next, you'll simply have to wait until enough people have signed up to get Round Number One going. Once that has happened, your character will be placed at random with another. A thread will be set up for the two of you, where you'll sit opposite each other at a table and practice a bit of speed dating. If there's enough interest, Round Number Two will then commence, where you'll be set up with another character. And so on. It's a fun way to get to meet new people, and this activity often results in fun, comical threads. The venue has yet to be chosen, but will certainly be in Hogsmeade for any students who might sign-up.It's rumored the event is being hosted by Harry Potter -but who knows if this is true or not? When signing up, please clarify if your character is into females or males, in order to set you up with an appropriate date.If you wish, you may easily decide that, IC, you character was signed-up by a third party, and not themselves.I think that covers it all for people who will be participating in the event as speed daters. Now, for people who might wish to participate as part of the organization:I'm happy to have other people helping out in the organization (both OOC and IC). If you wish to do so IC-wise, just make sure your character has a reason to be doing it -Harry, for example, was pushed into it by Ginny, as all money gathered by the event goes to a good cause.Just because your character is participating as part of the organization of the event, does not at all mean they can not join in at the tables as well. Thanks to all of you for reading, and hopefully you'll join in!Le Speed Dating CouplesEdwin Glass – Jacoba SchlagenweitJohann Storm - Jane HunterAdam Turner – Mathieu Vaillancourt Leonard Nagde – Charlotte St. JamesRick Donovan – Leon FaulknerElliot Griffin – Sky O’ConnorShade O’Connor – Eva LawrenceAdelebert Hughes – Pandora PuddifootSissel Jowd – Nikari AvendaleMilton Steinbeck – Izola BellamaneElixa Mordent – Maiko Biladeau-YukawaTulojow Nagde – Ligeia CanterburryOrganizersCeeCee DonovanHarry PotterMolly PrattPandora Puddifoot Skip to next post Re: Speed Dating 101 (Sixth Years or above + Adults) Reply #1 on May 19, 2013, 05:35:31 PM Go on then....!My victims:Edwin Glass - meeting witchesElixa Mordent - not fussyJohann Storm - *mumbles incoherently* will go in either group and I'll work with whatever's given and a plot reason for. She's big on fundraisers - and fun! - and this sound like it'd have plenty of both in abundance. Which means you can probably count on at least one unlucky werewolf making a disgruntled appearance, too… ("Guess you should've been more forthcoming about your love life, huh?")
