And nerves are running high with the upcoming Tetrawizard Tournament Task, as Salem students and Hogwarts students alike react to the announcement of Champions.The start of the new semester also means that the Hogwarts Mafia is starting to organize once more. Alexa Bagnold does her best to keep recruit Katherine Beckett under control, but it seems like love is blossoming between the sharp Ravenclaw and Mason Hawkins. Meanwhile, in news that won't be upsetting for anyone, horrible murderer/complicated man Cinead Tawse met Jonas Trevelyan for lunch in London. Not far from there, Mark Hunter asks "What's the worst that could happen?" and when he's hanging out with criminal and werewolf Victoria Andrews, why, we just can't think of anything bad. Besides, that strange, mysterious man who seems to be kidnapping people off the streets and luring children away is probably just hoping for some company and a nice fireside chat. But there's no reason to worry. The Ministry of Magic is functioning perfectly as evidenced by a great meeting of the minds. And to replace her, we are very happy to welcome Michael. We've also had some shuffling at the Aide level. A big thank you to Mai/Cináed Tawse and Thea/Liadán Ó Móráin for their time helping out as Aides, which has come to a close for the time being. Also thank you to Luke/Rohan Graham who'd been helping out as a C-box mod. But now we welcome Liv/James Lotusorder as the newest addition to our Ambassadors. Interested in joining the staff? We're looking for C-box Moderators and AO Ambassadors.Donations Allow For a Host ChangeOn May 2 (which just happens to be Remembering Day!), donations from members were opened. We were hoping to raise $100 to pay for a switch to a new web host, as well as the cool new mobile theme that many preferred in the recent poll. The response from the community blew us away! The goal was met in only three hours, and we cannot say thank you enough to everyone who donated. Because of this, we have already successfully migrated to TSOHost, which will give us a more stable website from here on out. We'll be rolling out the new mobile theme as soon as we can.Thank you, thank you, thank you again so much for all of your support of Absit Omen! Whether you donated money this time around, or pour your heart and soul into crafting stories on the board, you guys are all the reason that the community is so amazing.
