[Jan 16] Guy Talk [Flynn]

on May 01, 2013, 11:48:41 PM

Chaz hadn't ventured into Muggle London since last week.  Call him paranoid but he had a legitimate fear of being accosted on the street like he was on the 9th. [1]  He was thankfully in a completely different part of the city, which helped eased his paranoia a little bit.  In addition, he didn't think he had to be out and about in Muggle London for Jean Luc to find him so there wasn't really any particular danger in being out.

Aside from the danger of catching a cold.  Chaz scowled and flipped his collar up against the chill but the water had already soaked his hair.  Cold, fat droplets were dripping down his neck, causing shivers to spread across his shoulders.  Rounding the last corner, Chaz saw Flynn's building and made a dash for it.  When he finally got inside, he wished he used the Floo more often.  It was something his parents had insisted was plebeian and, as a result, Chaz had never quite gotten used to the nauseating sensation of whirling around in people's fireplaces.  Of course, walking was also considered plebeian but he didn't much care what his parents thought about it any more.

He climbed the stairs and knocked on Flynn's door, wincing as the impact jarred his frozen hands.  Artists' hands were sensitive, he whined silently to himself.  He rubbed them idly and waited for Flynn to answer.  This was on of those rare Saturdays that he and Gale weren't spending attached to one another (in bed mostly) and he planned on spending a little quality time with his friend.

Flynn was sipping some coffee and scratching little Henry behind the ears when he heard some knocking followed by a whine. He leapt out of his seat, sending the tiny dog tumbling on the floor with a surprised yelp.  He rushed to the door, nearly tripping over  a few empty pots that he intended to grow some new plants in. He opened the door quickly, nearly hitting Chaz in the face. After a quick apology, he pulled his friend into the living room and pushed him onto the couch.

“You.” He said seriously, waving his finger at Chaz. “You have been a stranger, and I don’t like it.” Then his face brightened up, “But I forgive you!” He lept onto the couch and---

MRRRROOOOOOOOOW!

His sassy, mildly-overweight cat was pinned between the armrest and Flynn. She clawed at the space around them before finally wiggling herself free. Surely, Chaz missed this chaos.

“Tell me about what you’ve been doing, having fun. Without me.” He wasn’t genuinely hurt, and Flynn spoke with a joking easiness that showed that he really just wanted to give his friend a hard time.

Chaz laughed and rescued the heavy cat from its indignant retreat.  He plopped her down in his lap and began scratching that spot beneath the jaw that all cats seemed to enjoy.  His eyes twinkled with merriment as he regarded Flynn's playfully pouting demeanor.  "I have been having a lot of fun but I don't think it's the kind of fun you'd be interested in."

He tilted his head demurely, as though it was too good for Flynn.  The truth was, of course, that he'd been having fun with Gale for quite some time now.  Since Christmas Eve, he had spent almost every single free span of time with Gale and had loved every minute of it.  Gale was ready to come out now, though, and Chaz wanted to tell his friend about his new relationship.  Like most things that seemed too good to be true, it felt as though it didn't exist if you didn't tell someone.

Flynn watched as Mildred started purring and kneading at Chaz’s stomach. Fine. Traitor. He gave the cat a fake-dirty look, but then Mildred turned her head sharply to face Flynn and hissed, before rubbing her face against Chaz’s hand affectionately. “Oh I see how it is.” Flynn huffed, crossing his arms over his chest indignantly. No wonder that cat wasn’t getting the squirrel out—she hated him! But not really. He was sure that deep down, Mildred had some sort of affection for her owner.

Chaz spoke of fun. Fun that Flynn would supposedly not be interested in! Well, we’ll see about that. “I’m interested in all sorts of fun.” The healer replied, not picking up on Chaz’s subtle hints. He had never been good at that sort of thing. “What is it, did you find yourself some love and romannnnnce?” He teased, though he genuinely hoped that Chaz had found a partner. Then he can go on double dates with Fauna! That would be lovely, and Fauna could get a chance to know who Flynn’s friends were without being overwhelmed.
