Joie,

Hope you're well, best wishes, etc., we ought to catch up, all of that.

I assume you'll forgive me for jumping straight to the point, which will also quickly solve the mystery for you of why I've gone through the trouble of sussing out your home address instead of passing this along at work.  A couple of questions have come up in regards to something that I've been looking into, and I'm hoping that you'd be willing to do me the grand turn of giving your opinion on them.

Could I perhaps entice you to a conversation?  If you'd rather not meet publicly, we can arrange to do so privately.  I will, of course, be in your debt for an equivalent sort of favor.

All the best,
Jonas

P.S.  Gwenna came home from school proclaiming that rather than be a mummy, her life ambition is now to become a Cursebreaker so that she can spend her adulthood adventuring in particularly dangerous abodes.  Needless to say, her mother and I are slightly less than enthused.  I could not blame this entirely on her brief encounter with you, but if you're willing to hear me out, I will cease to consider your influence as a possible contributing factor.

Jonas,

I am flattered that a brief encounter with your daughter would create such a… show of adoration.  It seems, from my perspective, a family attribute, wouldn’t you agree?

However, I suppose that is the afterthought the to the actual reasoning for this letter, in your eyes.

You’ve managed to, perhaps against my better judgment, pique my interest and I’d be willing to meet with you.  On my terms, of course.

I imagine my office is not quite as private as you’d care to be, so I would be willing to open my home, since you’ve gone through the trouble of locating my address anyhow.  I feel you might understand why your home would not be ideal, children at home, whatnot.  And, I’ve made a personal commitment to myself to never step foot in Level Two, if I can help it.

I feel, at this point, I can still avoid that scenario.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best,
Joie.
