The International Society of Wizarding Arts and their invitees were in for a nasty surprise at the annual winter opera last evening, when curtains were drawn precipitously at intermission to reveal the lynched bodies of the troupe's leading performers.

Several of the victims were local actors, including Dorothy Bigglesworth, Henry Crassingdon and Linus Miller.

Theater patrons and event organizers have declined to comment on the deaths although Ira Almasy, the night's principle face, has issued an official statement of apology to audiences. The witch has also assured supporters of the wizarding arts that new security measures will be taken in the case of future exhibitions at the Royal Opera House in London.

It has been revealed that the greater part of the murdered performers were members of, or related to, various pureblood families. Officials from the DMLE have confirmed that they are following through on several leads.
