Re: [May 11th]The only cure for a hangover is death [Kendall and Morrigan] Reply #15 on June 13, 2009, 09:37:35 AM Part of Morrigan had the sneaking suspicion this might get awkward very fast if they weren't careful. She didn't want that...even if she wasn't entirely sure what she wanted at this point. It was all a jumble in her mind, and she would certainly need time to work through it. She had never analyzed her actions where Kendall was concerned...she had never stopped to find the possible reasons behind them."I haven't thrown you out yet," she said with a smirk, sitting back on the sofa with her mug, "despite the blinding headache and the fact that I can't seem to form a coherent thought."She took a small sip of the coffee, sighing slightly as the liquid warmed her a bit. She eased herself back against the arm rest, swinging her feet up on the couch so she was facing him. This was so strange to her still, and she was sure any moment now she really would awaken to find herself in her own bed in the midst of some strange dream."And I thought you didn't like to rely on...what was it again? Oh, yes, 'over-worked and lightly abused house elves.'" He reached forward to the mug, taking a lump of sugar and stiring it into the black liquid. "I found that no one makes coffee like they do in Brazil. Have to see how the Hogwarts coffee compares."Sitting back opposite to Morrigan, as he breathed in teh aroma of the roasted beans, he began to take inventory. Her hair was rumpled but not messy. If she had been wearing any makeup at all the night before, it was smudgeless and in his opinion she didn't need any.Her clothes from the night before were slightly wrinkled, but not inappropriately so. She appeared just as one might expect had she fallen asleep on the couch in front of the fire marking papers. There was nothing to make one believe that she had fallen asleep on his chest in what was an awkward, and slightly humorous situation.Taking inventory of himself, he thought he must look a sight. Clothes wrinkled far beyond what Morrigan's were. His face unshaven and his hair, although short, must look a sight."Mmm they make an alright pot of coffee. I just hope I can find the lesson plans I started by the end of the term. feel like I will be flying by the seat of my pants!"He winced in realization that what he had said brought them back to Red Rocks again. Perhaps it was the hangover, but she found she didn't mind the thought nearly as much as she would have before. Perhaps it was the contentment she had felt when she first woke up in his arms...before the reality of the situation hit her."Mmm they make an alright pot of coffee. I just hope I can find the lesson plans I started by the end of the term. feel like I will be flying by the seat of my pants!"She was just taking a sip of coffee when he made the comment and the liquid caught in her throat, causing her to choke a bit. A feeling of déjà vu came over her as she seemed to remember a similar reaction to something he had said the night before. Putting the coffee down she laughed slightly once she recovered the ability to breath correctly. "Yes well," she began, "I do believe you have enough experience with that to know to react. So what do you have planned for far?" The thought of how that might appear to either her, or if her neighbour Isaac was to hear the commotion and find them in what could again be a compromising position...When she recovered and asked what he had in mind for his lesson plans, Kendall relaxed a bit and smiled."I suppose that depends on what the Defense Professor has in mind as well. I expected to start with simple charms for the firstyears of course. Wingardium with the simple swish and flick, then I thought scourgify since it is a simple upward stroke. Maybe followed by alohamora as a simple jab motion." He paused thinking back to what his plan was for the second year class."For the second years I was planning Flipendo, Repairo, but still need a third. Once they move to third years is where I am getting stuck. I want to keep at least one practical charm, one that ties to Defense and then the thirs is the bigger issue."Kendall took another slug of coffee into his mouth, the headache fading now as his body woke up with caffeine. "Do you have suggestions?" Skip to next post Re: [May 11th]The only cure for a hangover is death [Kendall and Morrigan] Reply #19 on June 17, 2009, 07:55:59 PM Morrigan pondered for a moment. It sounded like he had a good start, more then she had given him credit for the previous evening. He had considered, it seemed, what they would need to know. However there were ways to find out more of what might be expected, and she had learned that from experience."If it were me, I would get a hold of the last two or three years of OWLs and NEWTs," she told him. "You'll find them a good starting point as the same information is usually covered, although it may be presented in slightly different ways. She smirked slightly and added, "Of course I personally like to teach the kids a few things I find amusing throughout the year. For example, you might have them practice something benign like a color changing charm on each other's hair."She could almost see the variety of brightly colored heads running through the halls. "That beings back some... nighhtmares" He involuntarily shivered. "Reminds me of Sedona in was it third year?""Is that anything like transfiguring all the books in someone's bag into butterflies?" She took a tentative sip as he talked about the spells they both could come up with. She knew they had been quite good in their younger days at finding new ways to torment each other."If memory serves me right, those were not butterflies," she said with a smirk. "And I was think more like the charming someone's tea to turn the drinkers teeth black...for a week." She could laugh now at it, they had both had their share of fun at the other's expense. If it wasn't bees or butterflies in a book bag, then it was something equally as immature. "You know if we had worked together instead of against each other, we might have given some of the more....inventive pranksters a run for their money." He was now rather self conscious of his teeth."Well" He was finished with the coffee now. "I should let you get to your day. I'm sure you have a lot to prepare for end of term. I have until next term, but I really should find copies of those OWLs and NEWTs and see what was on the practicals." He stood slowly. In reality he didn't want to leave. He was enjoying Morrigan's company too much."I suppose I will need to head in to Diagon Alley to the Ministry to get those NEWTs. You.. ah" Kendall swallowed "You wouldn't want to go along and maybe stop in the alley?
