Sophisticated Women Don't Get Trapped In Cabinets [Jan. 16][Open]

Rayven had found herself working in the potions room by herself.[1] She had been feeling rather drained lately after being gone from school over the break. She was usually just spending time with family, but this break had been a little more adventurous and exciting. Getting back in the routine of things was becoming difficult, especially with the late hours of going on prefect patrol. She had decided to make a vitamix potion to give herself a much needed energy boost. She flipped through her book of potions until she found it and proceeded to gather the ingredients.

She kept glancing at the book to make sure everything was right. She didn't want to mess this up and have something terrible happen. She wasn't the best at potions, but she had passed and that was enough for her. She had picked up her book as she was looking for one of the ingredients and the book slipped a little. After a quick glance, she decided it was alright and went back to mixing.

'Here goes nothing!' she thought to herself as she downed the potion. She didn't feel more awake. She just had a nasty taste in her mouth. Oh well. At least she hadn't broken into boils or anything. Coffee would have to do. She went to gather her ingredients to put them back up, but couldn't seem to grasp anything and kept dropping things. Bollicks!

She went back to her book and noticed the page was different. The slip! The pages must have flipped and she hadn't been paying enough attention. She had made a befuddlement draught instead! She had to fix this. She couldn't be bumbling around like this all day! She went back to her book to look for an antidote. She was careful to pick everything up easily and set it down without breaking anything. She went to mixing again and drank the potion. Hopefully this one worked.

She went to pick up the ingredients -again- and went to put them away. She was still dropping things and couldn't seem to get her feet to work appropriately! What was going on! She looked at the potions again and couldn't see what happened. "Dekrow evah dluohs taht!" 'What the hell!' Upon further revisions of the spell, she mucked up AGAIN! This time a babbling beverage! She was beginning to think she needed to take potions again.

She went to look for the cure again. This time, she took her wand and used it to bookmark the page and underlined what she needed. One of the ingredients she needed had rolled into a cabinet, presumably from when she dropped everything. She went crawling on the floor and into the cabinet to collect the bottle when SLAM! 'No. No no no no no!' The door... had shut behind her. How was she to get out of this one! There wasn't a handle on the inside and her wand was OUTSIDE! She started banging on the door. "PLEH!!! PLEH!!!" This... was a disaster. Never again would she dabble in potions alone!
 1. With the professor's permission. If it is a problem, let me know. :)
A complete coincidence brought Erin to the potions dungeon.  She actually had simply planned on walking past the place, when she heard some cabinet slam.  Strange enough, but not really that big of a deal.  Then Erin could have sworn she heard someone vomiting frogs.

"Pleh.  Pleh"

Debating whether or not it would be worth it to get involved, she decided that maybe she should grab a professor.  Then, her sense of better judgement abandoned her for the sake of the thread.  Temporarily ignoring the banging on the cabinet, she saw a wand laying on the ground.  Erin had a momentary crisis.  She debated whether or not she should take the wand.  After all, having another wand would make some things significantly easier for her.  Unfortunately, Erin lacked enough skill with her own wand most of the time to make things work but that did not stop the Slytherin from coming up with a few uses for it.  She had meant to hide it discretely on her person, but she got distracted, and lazily put it on top of the desk since she had a hard enough time concentrating, let alone concentrating while a loud noise came from the cabinet.

Figuring that the person still banging on the door would be there if she did not open it, she walked over towards it.  Finding the latch, she tried to open it.  Upper body strength was not Erin's forte however, and she could not force the thing to open with strength alone.  Figuring that if at first it not succeed, try a second time.  After that, she usually gave up and tried something else.  As was the case here.

"I'm casting alohomora!" Erin announced.

"Alohomora" she cast.  The spell seemed to be successful.  Erin then remembered that the wad was simply laying on  a desk.  She cursed inwardly.  That was a golden opportunity she missed. Though still salvageable, she hoped that she could pull this off.
