He was nervous now about their relationship after she asked what would happen. What would happen anyways? They couldn't stay together, and that simple fact was setting Damien on edge."I'll be right beside you, boss." He said jokingly, but being serious at the same time. He was here for Imari. This was all for her, and he was going to protect her in case anything went wrong. "Where did he say to meet him?" Imari walked up to the bar and asked about it and then went back to Damien and said, "It's back this way." She nervously took his hand and led him through the tables and back towards where the private rooms were and stopped in front of a door. "Here goes." she said and knocked once on the door. "Hold up girlies, let papa get the door." he told them and walked towards the door and opened it slowly to see a young girl standing there, "Imari?" he questioned, looking past her briefly to see a young man standing there. She'd told him she was going to bring someone with her, but he couldn't remember if she told him it was going to be a boy though. "Come in, please." he said and opened the door wider. The twins were now sitting up watching their father talk to someone they'd never seen before, but they didn't care, new people were always fun. He surveyed his surrounding and took in every detail of it. The people, the atmosphere, the lively chatter from a few in the back. It seemed like a very relaxed place where a bunch of friends could meet up together to have a good time. Damien's kind of place. He extended his hand when Imari came back and allowed her to weave through the tables, making her way efficiently to the very back where the private rooms were. He knock was swift, and he was sure that the person inside would open immediately. He dropped Imari's hand when the man opened the door and followed Imari in. "I'm Damien Reynolds, pleased to meet you, sir." Damien said, extending a hand in greeting. From a young age, Damien's Dad had told him time and time again that people loved it when you were polite. When you were humble and made them feel more important than you, because most of the time, they were. And as a younger man, he had to respect everyone older than him because that was his place. At least, that's what his grandma had told him the last time he saw her. Right after he was joking around and dropped one of her favorite coffee mugs on the floor. Lesson learned. Respect your elders. Even if they aren't that old. Skip to next post Re: [Dec. 29th]Family means a lot[Imari and Damien] Reply #19 on May 06, 2013, 03:43:29 PM Jacob let Imari and the young man in. He thought in the back of his mind that the boy was very polite. "I'm Jacob, nice to meet you." and shook Damien's hand. He waited until they were both in the room and then closed the door again. "I'm glad to finally meet you Imari, I only had to go on what your parents and sister have told me about you." He looked down and ran a hand through his hair, "Although, what your sister says tends to go in one ear and out the other." He gestured to the chairs around the room and said, "Please, sit down." 'Well, that went well.' she confidently told herself as she ignored what Jacob said about her sister. She loved Abigail, but until she changed her views on certain things, there was no way she was going to start that conversation. She heard him say something about sitting down, but her eyes were focused on the little girls who were sitting on the floor with curious expressions. She knelt down on the floor to be closer to them and said, "Hello." Then, upon thinking that she had made a misstep with introducing herself to the twin girls before their father could do it. "Sorry." she mumbled and took a seat at the table. He'd been taught how to greet people politely, and how to make a good impression. This was Imari's family, he really wanted to make a good impression. He watched Imari and thought briefly that her conduct was, well, awkward. She seemed so cold, so distant for some reason. She opened up to the twins immediately when she knelt down to say hello, but then she panicked as usual and back away, leaving one of the little girls reaching for the newcomer curiously. Damien grinned as the twins babbled, kids were so much fun and too adorable for their own good. They reminded Damien of his cousins back home, both teeny tiny and too adorable for him to stand. They tested his patience for sure, but when they yelled across the house for "Daaaayyyman," it always brought a smile to his face.He took a seat next to Imari and rubbed her back reassuringly, quickly, before withdrawing. She needed to learn how to relax around other people, she was getting better at it for sure, but there was still something in there that just didn't make her too open to others. "So, Jacob, what are the little princesses' names?" He asked with an open smile. He wanted to be as open and friendly as possible because if he was withdrawn, then Imari would be withdrawn as well. "They sure do talk a lot, don't they?" Small talk was easy, small talk was good. If only he could get Imari to join in... He heard Imari's mumbled "Sorry" as he went to sit down and said, "Don't worry about it, they would of come up to you sooner or later anyway." He turned his attention to Damien and watched as he rubbed Imari's back, "Lyla is the one with the black flower, Rose is the one with the pink flower." he answered the boy's question.
