Full Character Name: Zeta Madeline Pepper

Wand: Dogwood with a dragon heartstring core, 10.5 inches long, thin and springy with a bent handle. A rather temperamental and quirky sort of wand.

Physical Description:
A sweet looking, wide-eyed girl with a round face and a ready smile. Her curly hair falls to her shoulders, and could be described as a rather dark shade of blonde or a rather light shade of brown, depending on the day and how much she's been out in the sun recently. Her eyes are a dark brown.

At 5'3" she's of average height for her age-and is in fact slightly taller than her older sister, Theta. Though she usually seems shorter, bent over a sketchpad or piece of parchment scribbling out something.

Her build is slightly chubby, and her clothing, well, it tends toward brightly colored disasters. Yellow's become a favorite color given her house, and is often combined with a very bright green. Her most successful outfits tend to combine Muggle t-shirts with jeans. Zeta in formal wear is likely to be a frightening thought to anyone who knows her.

Personality Description:
Creative, witty, and loyal. Zeta is far more interested in art (rather following in her father's footsteps) than in her schooling. Her cartoons have shown far more improvement over her school years than her grades, both in the artwork and in the humor, which can be rather sharp. Zeta tries not to come across too harshly with it, but that is sometimes hard for her to judge.

Zeta tends to be very loyal to her friends and family, something which has created plenty of problems for her when such loyalties conflict. It's also meant that she's tended towards having more acquaintances than close friends. Her father is the person she's closest too, and Zeta tends to blindly side with him in any conflict-much to her mother's frustration sometimes.

As is common with the Peppers, Zeta could be considered rather quirky, though her expressions of it tend to stay within rather practical realms. She once went through a phase of trying to paint with just kitchen condiments.

With some of the tragedies of her family, she has occasional darker moods, marked by withdrawal, heavier lines and harsher humor in her cartoons, and broken pencils. The nature of her wand means that her spellwork tends to suffer with such moods as well.

History:
Born in 1995, Zeta is the second child (and second daughter), of Catherine and Octavius Pepper. Her early life was largely quiet, most notable for early incidents of artistic destruction such as when she painted the living room wall at age three. This led to her father taking a particular interest in instructing her in art, and while Zeta's proven far more interested in drawing than painting, the shared artistic bent has made them especially close. Her younger sister Eta was born a couple of years later.

Zeta and her sisters were very close as well, along with the girl's cousins: Ambrose and Timothy, the sons of Octavius' brother Francis. While Zeta was thrilled to be sorted into Hufflepuff when she started at Hogwarts, she was also a bit saddened to be away from her younger sister and cousin,  who hadn't yet started school. She took better to the school that to her schoolwork, and has long had the desire to draw every member of the Hogwarts staff; a project often frustrated by their high turnover.

The summer of 2008 left the family stunned, as Zeta's aunt, Claire Pepper, suffered severe memory damage at the hands of Thomas Gregory, her son and the half brother of Ambrose and Timothy. Claire has been in St. Mungo's ever since. The return to school was welcome then, an opportunity to  focus on less unpleasant matters.

Most of Zeta's life since then has been relatively calm, with changes such as her older sister Theta graduating Hogwarts, and starting electives in her third year. However, returning home over the 2009-2010 Christmas break gave her quite a shock-one she's still struggling to accept. Her father, to whom she's always been rather close, suffered an accident with a time turner while on a vacation to the United States. One that left him two decades older when he returned. Despite how close the two of them were, Zeta's still felt compelled to withdraw, a move that allows her to temporarily ignore how much he has aged.

Zeta is a hard-working, loyal girl whose interests don't tend very strongly towards schoolwork. She cares much more about her cartooning habit than any other ambition, and isn't very sure what she wants to do with it besides trying to make caricatures of all her teachers. And while she's clever enough, she doesn't place too much value on intellectual pursuits
