Alexa leaned back on the desk awaiting the members to appear. Her and Rohan had been chatting a little after she had sent owls around to all of the mafia meetings asking them to meet here to have a little meeting. She planned on identifying the their first two undesirables that were against the mafia; Mason Hawkins and Chloe Harris.

She checked her watch to see when people would arrive. They were expected any moment now. "So, this meeting shouldn't take long. But it's completely necessary. We need to see who's on our side and who's hesitant. That way, we can utilize our group into task forces." She explained. She fixed her hair and withdrew her pocket mirror, looking in it. She smiled, making sure her smile was still perfectly white, and made sure that there was nothing in her teeth. She looked over to Rohan, holding out the mirror. "Would you like to borrow it?"

Rohan twiddled his fingers rhythmically, waiting for those interested in the mafia to show.  He was a little worried regarding students who could indicate the mafia and its plans to a staff member, considering the vulnerability of an almost open invite.  He would try to be vigilant, given the circumstances. 

Alexa had written down every possible victim Graham could produce, and they planned on displaying two in particular.  Still, there was an underlying hope that no rats were amongst those coming to the introductory meeting that would tip off Hawkins and Harris of the targets on their backs.   

"So, this meeting shouldn't take long. But it's completely necessary. We need to see who's on our side and who's hesitant. That way, we can utilize our group into task forces."

"Don't you think I know what we're doing here?"  He shot at the girl, indignant.  It probably didn't appear so to Bagnold, but Rohan was smarter than he was given credit for.  It was irritating to be treated as if Alexa were the captain of the mafia ship, and he was a silly extra no one wanted to see around; an expendable member, despite his creating the idea in the first place.

"Would you like to borrow it?"

He scoffed at her.  "Yes, of course I'd like to borrow it,"  Rohan retorted, sarcasm laced in his tone.  A petty mirror was the last of his concerns at the time.  He hoped that at least a few people would come, and be invested in the affairs of the mafia.  It was concerning to think that the whole idea would be ruined due to lack of members. 



 

         

"Oh don't be such a killjoy," Katherine mused from her place in the spinny chair she'd transfigured. She was passing time by spinning around in it, a child like activity, but amusing nonetheless.

Rohan was snappy, impatient too. And it was getting on Katherine's nerves. It was obvious that he was not happy with Alexa bossing him around, something that Katherine had no problem with because she knew that whatever Alexa told her to do was something worth doing. "You need to relax, Graham."

There wouldn't be a problem with people getting chatty. Katherine was good at watching people. Besides, if anyone tried to tell their targets what was going down, they would find themselves with a really awful sore throat and a lack of a voice. As people were to walk in, the door was charmed to set a small curse on them that would be activated if they talked about the mafia to Chloe or Mason. Simple enough for the two intelligent Ravenclaws in the room.

"I'm bored," she said as she spun around, her voice fading in and out as she did. She stopped herself by catching her high heels on the edge of the desk, making a rather loud noise as she slid out of the seat and onto the floor. "Damn," she said under her breath. "I'm trying a new potion for the headaches, lack of coordination is one of the side effects." She said in reference to the vial she had just downed a few minutes ago.

Alexa put her mirror back into her bag. "Don't worry. they'll come. I told everyone it was important to come to this meeting, so people will come." She knew her popularity with him was starting to fade, and she wasn't going to let that go. She needed his trust. She need to make sure he thought he still had complete control over the mafia. That way, she could just use him like a puppet.

Alexa stood up, placing her hands on to his shoulders, slowly kneading her thumbs into his back, feeling knots. "You seem stressed." She said, as she watched her french manicured thumbs rotate slowly, unlocking a knot. She didn't know how he would react. Though in her experience, most guys liked the feeling of a massage.

Rohan glared at Alexa's crony, displeased.  "Beckett, maybe I'll relax when you shut up, thank you very much," he replied.  "And quit whining, it doesn't exactly help boost team morale around this place."  He demanded, not realizing the irony of his order.  He was probably lowering morale the most with his own mood. 

"Who are you, the bloody Oracle of Greece?"  He questioned, his asking purely sarcastic and rhetorical. "Your crystal ball isn't going to help people to come here, and telling students that something is important rarely works in Hogwarts anyway,"  he explained.  "Don't bother me right now."  There was enough anxiety in his head already, and he didn't need two obnoxious girls making it grow.  "You two need silencing spells for the rest of your lives."   

Rohan would have been relaxed by Alexa's hands slowly applying pressure to his back under normal circumstances, but at that specific time, he didn't want anyone even coming near him until a bit of stress was taken off; a few people showed up.  "Non ti azzardare a toccarmi!"[1]  He exclaimed, shaking her hands off his back in a seizure-like fashion.  "Get.  Out.  Now."  He managed to speak in the correct language, pointing to the door.   



     

1.	Italian - "Don't you dare touch me!"

Ooh, Rohan was so scary when he told her to shut up. Katherine wrinkled her nose, not realizing that having the side effects of a healing potion was a bad thing. Lack of coordination, sudden burst of inattentiveness; may as well diagnose her with minor ADHD, but it was a small and temporary price to pay for the eventual relief she would get from it.

 "I'm sorry," she apologized, being sincere. Something her grandfather had said had stuck all those years ago when he was teaching her to be a respectful individual. She held her head in one hand as a sudden rush of pain hit her, causing a few blurry dots to swim in front of her vision. As abruptly as it had started, it had gone.

Alexa and Rohan had no idea that Katherine suffered from such extreme headaches; they might have gotten wind of the fact that she had a condition, but they didn't know to what extent it was. Lucky for her too, because for now, the blonde leader just thought she was incredibly useful and good at remembering things.

Only Katherine's professors, and her dorm mates unfortunately, knew of her memory. She had to tell the professors because they needed to be aware of the fact that she could have an episode, even if she hadn't had one in years; and her dorm mates because she had been with them for six years. And she trusted most of them.

She jumped when Rohan shouted at Alexa, not used to sudden and loud noises such as that one. Was he only yelling at Alexa? Because Katherine wasn't entirely sure about that, if he wanted people to show up, then he should be content with the fact that he already had two people. Katherine more so than Alexa because Beckett was at their disposal basically, she wasn't really important; not like power-hungry Alexa or Mr. I'm-in-charge Rohan. Silently, she waited in her chair, ceasing the spinning for now in hopes Rohan would cool off.

Alexa jumped back at Rohan's verbal attack. She gave a confused face, and started to think. She needed to stay, but clearly, he didn't want her to stay. "Sorry. Trying to help." She said, putting her hands up in a joking manner, as she sat back down, closer to Katherine and farther from Rohan. He was so vulnerable, and little did he know, Alexa was slowly analyzing how he acted under high stress. He was nervous about the meeting; worried, one may say.

She crossed her legs, as she started to look at her nails. Maybe tomorrow was a pink day. It was all about what she wore tomorrow. If she wore pink, then she could paint her nails pink. She rolled her neck, fluffing her hair once more. "I allocated the group to separate task forces." She held out a parchment for him to see. "If you want to use it, of course. Whatever you think." She said, flashing a little smile.

Well, Remi got the invite, finally. He tipped of Frank about it a day or two ago. With that kid, you never knew. Remi could easily get to his destination, it's not like anyone even noticed or cared where he was going. Just to see if he still "had it" Remi walked by a couple of students on the way and said "Hey guess what? I'm joining the mafia..." No one even heard him, yep he would be perfect for the mafia.

Walking up to the empty classroom, Remi heard a few voices. He could tell it was escalating into a yelling match. Not wanting to miss out on the fun Remi slipped in, he stood there and leaned against the wall opposite of the group. He knew only Rohan but the other girls were clearly much older than he was. He looked back at the door, wondering if this would be a good idea. Remi was already at the meeting, he couldn't turn back now.

Listening for a few moments he could tell that Rohan was not ready to take on this meeting. The girls seemed much wiser and more confident than Rohan, something Remi kept in mind.

Deciding that he was finally bored enough to stop stalking the group he finally cleared his throat. Loud enough for the group to hear," So much for a meeting, where is everyone?"

Katherine sighed silently, wondering how Alexa could use her 'charm' and be so good at it. The confused face just added to the dumb blonde image that she used around the rest of the world. Katherine worried that at one point Rohan would see past the pretty girl looks, but once his little temper tantrum started, his ego got as big as the room and he didn't seem to care about anyone besides himself and his power over the mafia.

Or at least the power that he had left.

The brunette stood up as Remi entered the room and looked at him, sizing him up in a way but also trying to determine his possible threat level to the mafia and his possible interactions with the Undesirables. She wondered if he was going to introduce himself, or if he was just going to stand there. It didn't matter, she would be patient and let him introduce himself, or let Alexa stop talking about her task forces.

"They're running a little late," Katherine said with a smile, walking forward to greet the younger year. She held her hand out in greeting, "Katherine Beckett. I don't think we've met..."

Frank had not been invited.  He was a nobody first year know-it-all.  His greatest accomplishments among his peers were to talk too much and to have passed Flying.  But he'd heard about The Mafia from Remi on the way home for holidays and he hadn't been able to stop thinking about it.

But Remi was cool.  Remi knew what was happening at this school.  Remi had told him about the secret mafia meeting. 

Frank crept down the corridor, constantly checking over his shoulder.  He had the hood on his robes up over his head for better sneaking, but his stomach was in knots.  He really wanted to see what the mafia was and he really didn't want to get yelled at.  He knew Rohan Graham was a part of it.  And Rohan had a reputation.

Just outside the door, Frank flinched.  There was yelling going on inside.  This must be the place, he thought. 

Creeeeeeaaaaaaak....  Frank sloooowly pushed the door open and poked his blonde head in.  He did his best not to smile or look nervous.  Inside he saw two older girls, Rohan, and he almost didn't notice - but Remi was there.  Frank resisted the urge to wave, but he couldn't step through the door.

A few other people cycled into the room, as well as two Ravenclaws. Remi was a regular. Alexa didn't actually mind Remi. He was a good worker, got the information, and got out. It was also as though he appeared and disappeared as he wanted, which was a skill that Alexa was a little jealous of. As much as she loved being the center of attention, it was sometimes less nice when she wanted to sneak around. That was why she typically didn't, and just had others sneak around for her.

Remi joined the group quickly, but there was a small blonde head poking in. Alexa was unsure on what to do. He looked like a Sellaphix, and she knew that Fig had a brother, but the brother definitely did not know about the Mafia. Or, he wasn't supposed to. She deliberately left first years out. She didn't like the idea of little 11 year olds risking detentions. They were just too young.

Alexa then looked back at Rohan, with a nod of her head towards the door. But then took the initiative. She walked up to the little kid, and crouched down to his eye level. "Hey buddy, I think you're a little lost. We're having a club meeting right now for a big kid thing. Though, there's another empty classroom upstairs, so if you need a room." She explained. She even flashed a smile. It was all a part of the act to try to coax the kid away. Though he'd probably see right through it if he was smart enough.

She was really pretty, the older Slytherin who came over.  Frank expected her to snap at him and tell him to get lost.  But - okay, well she was telling him to get lost, but in a really nice way.  He looked past her at Remi, at the others, and wasn't able to repress the curiosity about this 'big kid' business they were all in on.  He'd come prepared not to be allowed in, but now that he was here, he was more determined. 

"I won't tell the professors," he said in response.  "I promise.  I won't get anyone in trouble, I swear.  Actually, if they used Veritaserum, I would literally have to tell, but pretty sure they aren't allowed to use that unless there's a murder.  So short of Veritaserum, I am totally not a rat."

Now is the time to stop speaking, Frank.  You've said a great deal already, and 90% of it focused on being a blabbermouth.  So yes, best time to can it.

Well...Frank got the message.

Remi did chime a small smile in after seeing the first year appear. Then came the rejection, Remi knew this would happen. "Hey buddy, I think you're a little lost. We're having a club meeting right now for a big kid thing. Though, there's another empty classroom upstairs, so if you need a room."

Well, Remi better hurry up and open his mouth before anything else happens. Unfortunately, Frank beat him and opened his mouth. "I won't tell the professors," "I promise.  I won't get anyone in trouble, I swear.  Actually, if they used Veritaserum, I would literally have to tell, but pretty sure they aren't allowed to use that unless there's a murder.  So short of Veritaserum, I am totally not a rat."

Oh Frank, you need an off switch... There's is time and place to speak and right now, he shouldn't be talking. Luckily Remi had prepared for something like this."He's not lost. I told him... Besides, he'll be my responsibility." Then he turned to Frank." You couldn't talk if you wanted too, one of them probably rigged the entrance, or we have to be charmed before the meeting starts...Just in case any of us  decide to blabber off." He smiled an obvious "innocent" smile, he wasn't stupid. "So when do we get charmed or has it already happened? or is there some sort of ritual or initiation we have to go through?"

As Alexa did her, 'ooh-look-I'm-pretty-and-in-charge' speech, Katherine returned to her swivel chair. It wasn't even a speech, it was Alexa asserting her power over the younger year in hopes of getting him to leave. And soon. Katherine thought this was a waste of time, and her almost-silent sigh gave away her feelings that she was bored of this attitude that Alexa had.

Frank Sellaphix and Remi Filder. They were both young enough that they could be broken down and fit into the mafia mold. Not that she would be doing the breaking down, Katherine didn't like getting her hands dirty. She spied, she passed on messages; and that was as far as her affiliation with the Hogwarts mafia ran. A spy.

She grinned, a cocky grin, a know-it-all Ravenclaw grin. Of course they were both charmed already, what did they take her for? "It's already been done," Katherine replied in a monotone voice, crossing her legs and shifting so that the chair was leaning back a bit. "Alexa, honestly, just think about it. The possibilities." She glanced towards the boys, but then again, she thought, my opinion doesn't matter here.

There was a silence for a moment, then Remi sighed. Now that Remi has pretty much figured out what was going on and that this most likley going to be who was coming to this meeting, he was ready to get on with actual business,"Okay....so...what's the first task chief?" looking at Rohan then the two girls,"Or Chief's?"

He could tell that Rohan was the TRUE leader of this gang,[1] but he already had respect for the two older girls. They seemed smart, but yet not let it overcome their common sense.
