First and foremost; my job is not to make you absolutely unbearably miserable. My job is to make sure that you become somewhat productive members of society who understand the fine art that is transfiguration. In each of you is the potential to be an amazing Witch or Wizard and I want to help you achieve that any way I can. I don't believe in intimidation tactics or bullying; if you do not wish to be in my classroom you are more than welcome to leave and deal with the consequence of that choice. I expect to be treated with respect and if you can do that I will treat you in kind. I can only teach you as much as you're willing to learn; but if you are willing I will put everything I have into making this classroom experience one of the best you'll ever have. I believe the drive to be better, to do better, is more important than any innate skill you're born with; if you need help I am more than willing to tutor and advise in anyway I can. I will believe the absolute best about you, until you give me a reason not to; and that is how I will run this class.

- You will receive five points for attending.
- You will arrive to class on time. Students are allowed one unexcused late arrival, after that I will deduct 2 house points for tardiness.
- Arrive prepared, with all class related materials.
- You will treat both myself and your classmates with the utmost respect.
- Mocking, bullying, or any other unkind behavior perpetrated against your fellow classmates will not be tolerated.
- Interhouse (and in this particular year interschool) cooperation is not an option; it is a requirement.
- Any infractions will likely result in very creative punishments thought up by yours truly.
to be brought with you to every lesson- Your wand
- Transfigurations textbook
- Parchment
- Quills
- Ink
- An attentive, respectful, cooperative attitude
In Character: You will be graded on participation as well as your course work regarding papers, midterms, finals and the like. A good attitude matters, as does a drive to better yourself and your wandwork. Heart and enthusiasm are as much a part of good magic as innate ability or power.
Out of Character: I fully understand that not every character can participate in every class. I would love for everyone to have the time and inspiration to post in every lesson I create; however I realize that is unrealistic. So rather than punishing people who can't or simply don't want to participate by lowering their grades thread participation will act as a means to earn house points. The more active you are in Transfiguration the more potential for house points. As for actual grades it will be a joint effort on my part and and Transfiguration student to find a grade that makes sense to both of us.
Extra Credit: Mentioning Transfiguration at length in a thread, demonstrating every day use of spells taught in the class, or partaking in a tutoring session are all ways in which you can both earn house points and bolster your grade. Read more about it
here SJ still needs to make this thread.
