Wand: Passed down from her great grandmother (and her great-great grandmother before), Katherine's wand in made of Walnut wood. It is slender and well-polished, measuring at nine and a quarter inches.
It's core is a Chimera Scale, carefully harvested specifically for the creation of this wand. It is highly attached to Katherine and refuses to perform spells for anyone else.
Typically passed from mother to daughter, the wand skipped two generations before finding it's match in Katherine.
Physical Description: Katherine stands at a solid five feet two inches tall. Typically, she prefers to wear heels when possible; but sometimes they don't really go with her uniform. Her favorite colors are black, dark grey, and blue; so it's really lucky that she's a Ravenclaw, because her uniform is basically just that.
She tries to put on a good appearance, for her own family's sake. Coming from a once pure line, Katherine is constantly pushed to be better and to look better. Confident in her own body, she rarely goes overboard with makeup. A quick coat of gloss and a brush of mascara works for her, sometimes she tries out the beauty potions her grandmother sends her as well.
Being good at charms, she easily learned a spell to curl her hair, and that's how she has it most every day; light, caramel-brown waves. But sometimes, she'll let it dry straight after a shower.
Personality Description: Katherine can probably be described in one word. Intense.
Born with an articulate condition, Katherine's Eidetic memory allows for her to remember things that the brain would otherwise forget. It is a double edged sword though, a blessing, and also a curse. It makes her almost hypersensitive to the world around her, as she exploits her condition on occasion to soak up everything that she possible can. Sometimes, when being questioned thoroughly, she'll get a headache when she tries to recall too much information. Unfortunately for her, the condition also makes it hard for her to take tests and exams, as it is easy for her to get distracted by different pieces of information that she remembers. After a particularly rough class or a hard assignment, Katherine's dorm mates might find her curled up in bed with a pillow over her head because she needs to calm herself down.
Even though her condition hampers her sometimes, Katherine is a highly intelligent individual. But the intelligence comes with a price; while she is good with words and has a way of being able to get what she wants... when she isn't able to achieve her goals, she gets agitated. And it's easy to agitate her.
But with all the bad, comes a bit of good. If you can call it that. Katherine is a fun individual to get to know. If you catch her on a good day of course. She has a side of her that can be easy-going and just chill; but it's rare to see that side. Only the closest of friends are able to relax her enough so that she can show her good side.
History: Katherine Faith Beckett was born in her mother’s childhood home on October 16th, 1992. Her father was not present for the birth because her grandmother simply would not allow a muggle into her household. Even though her parentage made her a half-blood, Katherine had a mostly pure lineage, tainted now by her mother’s poor choice to have a one-night stand with an attractive, non-magical man.
After her birth, Katherine was raised by her grandparents; her mother shunned from the family and never spoken to again.
The only way they allowed Katherine to communicate with her mother was through the occasional letter. If they suspected that anything strange was in her mother’s letters, they would burn them before Katherine had a chance to realize that there were letters being sent to her.
Early life was simple for Katherine; she was spoiled by her grandparents, and from the moments she started talking, she was groomed to be a purist. She was never told her father’s name, but when she was seven years old; he found her. And kidnapped her from her grandparents.
For three months, she lived in Spain with her father; but she couldn’t understand who this man was, and the experience left her deeply troubled and with nightmares for weeks about being taken away again. As she grew older, she realized who he was, but the negative thoughts about him didn’t leave her mind.
Finally, Katherine grew into her magic and was sent her letter for Hogwarts. Her grandparents were very proud, even if her condition worried them.
Her Eidetic memory was a troublesome bother for all, as she experienced headaches frequently when taking exams or being asked a multitude of questions. A few migraines on occasion would leave her unconscious after passing out from the pain. It hasn’t been that bad since she was ten though.
Her first few years went without too many problems. A bout in Potions left her with a scar on her midsection; and another in Herbology sent her, and two severed fingers, to the hospital hut after losing a battle with a pair of shears. The fingers were fixed though, and the scar is fading; all was well.
Now in her sixth year, Katherine is mingling with a new crowd. The Mafia of Hogwarts. Not the best group of people, but if her grandparent’s wanted her to make connection; where better than in a Mafia where you could know everybody?

How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Katherine was chose for this house because she wasn't kind enough to be in Hufflepuff, she wasn't rowdy enough for Gryffindor, and she wasn't
*sigh* pure enough for Slytherin. Luckily, the intelligent girl found a home in Ravenclaw where people like here actually existed.
Sum up your character in one paragraph: At a first glance, Katherine might give off the good-girl vibe; but she's an intense individual who prides herself on her achievements in school. She doesn't make friends easily, but can be social when it's called for. It's awkward though, to see her hold conversations with strangers or people she doesn't know very well because she just doesn't know what to do in those kinds of situations. She just doesn't!
