Physical Description:
Django is decent looking bloke. He’s six foot one and weighs about nothing. He isn’t very broad shouldered or particularly in shape, just tall and skinny as hell. It suits him though. He’s also on the pale side of Caucasian, not snow blind white, but not a nice tan or anything. Over the last couple years he’s had some work done in the form of tattoos. He’s got quite a number of them at this point, and often forgets everything he’s got.

Django’s a bit of a pretty boy in the face area. He’s been described as looking a bit like Tom Hardy’s younger brother, or a particularly boyish woman. He’s all high cheek bones and angular features. The stuff girls eat up. His chin and jaw are on the narrow side but that’s ok because he doesn’t get into fights all that often anymore. That’s a lie, but they tend to get broken up quicker now that he’s a wrock star. The lobes of his ears have been stretched out a bit with alright sized plugs. Nothing mental looking. A cigarette is usually hanging at the corner of his mouth, and he’s pretty sure there’s a tattoo somewhere on his face.

D’s hair is a dark brown color, goes good with his complexion and what not. It’s usually either shaved or short on the sides and the back, usually with long bangs that get in his blue eyes from time to time. As for clothes, well he’s a wrock star now isn’t he? So everyone wants him to wear their stuff, so he doesn’t have a real particular look anymore so much as a fantastic wardrobe full of high end bull crap that he wears once or twice.

Personality Description:
Django is kind of vain. He knows girls and boys like how he looks, and that they like how he looks even more when he’s shirtless playing guitar. So he plays into the whole wrock star image because he knows it’s what’s expected, plus it’s dead fun. He’s got a bit of an attitude problem, but no real issue with authority in general. He likes broads and booze and loud music, so he’s a lot like any other 20 something wrock star. He’s driven, which ultimately is what ended him up in Gryffindor, it’s just a kind of slow drive. He’s headstrong, especially about music, and often bumps heads with people who disagree with him. When he was younger this often led to fights, often when he had some of the drink in him. He likes to make “friends” with other celebrities but doesn’t keep up much with anyone he knew from Hogwarts besides his band mates. His music taste is pretty eclectic, and is usually the only thing he wants to talk about when he first meets someone. It’s a sort of litmus test that he puts people through. If he doesn’t like their taste in music he usually just passes on making their acquaintance.

History:
Django Valiant was born on a blistery day or something like that to Johnny and Cynthia Valiant. Both of his parents were muggles with no knowledge whatsoever of the wizard world. His father was a postal worker and jazz aficionado, and his mother was a writer who used to sing in punk bands when it was the thing to do. He was named after Django Reinhardt the famous jazz guitarist, but ever since he was little most people have just called him D.

Django had a pretty normal middleclass upbringing in Liverpool. The only real difference between him and his friends was that his father gave him a guitar at like eight. That was true up until he turned eleven. Then he got a letter delivered by an owl that said he was invited to go to a school to be a wizard. Like any regular eleven year old he was truly stoked. Like any normal parents, his parents were apprehensive. After meeting with Hogwarts officials and feinting a few times it was decided that D would be allowed to go to Hogwarts.

Once at the gigantic Scottish castle wee little Django was sorted into Gryffindor. The Sorting Hat had finally picked the House after struggling to come up with one that suited the little boy for a good ten minutes. His first year at Hogwarts was full of all the wonder you’d imagine an eleven year old muggle feeling after being immersed into a world of magic. When he went home during the summer he had a million stories to tell his parents, but sadly could not show them what he’d learned. Much of his free time during the summer was spent either playing guitar or spending time with his parents, with studying making up the rest of his time. Things went on this way until about his fifth year, after that when he went home all he wanted to do was hang out with his mates, play a little guitar, and shirk as much schoolwork as possible.

D’s parents both understood he was just a highschool boy growing up and so didn’t take him spending less time with them when he was home during the summer to heart. His mum being an old punk rocker especially knew where he was coming from. In all reality though D wasn’t really rebelling against anything, or really rebelling at all. He still got passing grades, not great grades, but passing, and he didn’t get in trouble all that often. When he did get in trouble it was usually for something small like playing his enchanted guitar too loud in the common room, or getting caught swearing. In his sixth year he heard that Magnolia Nettlebottom was trying to start a band and eagerly offer his services as guitarist. Even though he didn’t do awful on any of his exams he didn’t want to get a normal job in the wizarding world. He wanted to be a wrock star. His parents supported him, and paid for his rent and equipment so he could devote himself to The Knockturnals.

Since graduating his fame has gone up a little bit as a result of Nola and the Knockturnals being on the Wireless. He and Nola still fight like dogs over the direction of the band from time to time. He no longer relies on his parents for money, and in fact is now sending them money. He lives a very wrock and roll lifestyle.

Describe your job duties and how you go about them:
Django’s job is to play guitar. He writes as much of the music as Nola lets, but doesn’t pester her about writing lyrics or singing. He’s been playing guitar for a long time and grew up on his parent’s taste in muggle music as well as what was on the wireless. His playing style is as varied as his influences, and he’s got a lot of influences.

Elaborate on your expertise in your field:
D’s been playing guitar since he was eight. He’s been exposed to a lot of different music and has tried his hand at playing all of it. He’s still a younger dude but so was every great guitarist at one point. He’s also been in the band since it was founded.

Writing Sample:

Sum up your character in one paragraph:
Django Valiant, or D as he’s sometimes known, is the wrock superstar guitarist of Nola and the Knockturnals. He’s the son of muggles, and he’s still close with his parents even if he doesn’t see them often. He’s a music junky and spends most of his time when not making music, listening to it. He is also a bit of a partier as most twenty something wrock stars are. He wants to be even more famous always.
