Physical Description:
Dallas is six foot five and has light brown hair and a stubbly beard. He has a nicely sculpted physique and big feet. His eyes are grey like the sea after a storm and his eyelashes are short. His nose is slightly flat, his nostrils coming far out to the sides of the bridge. His eyebrows are usual thick and match the color of his hair, that he keeps shorter during summer and spring, and lets it grow a bit longer during the winter month. Sometimes he decides to sport a beard, it makes him feel like a lumber jack.

He dresses mostly in flannel shirts, faded denim jeans and his pair of trust steel-toed boots. Since he's moved back to Scotland, he's taken a habit to wearing a large, brown trench coat that repels the heavy rain. It has many pockets that he fills with his wallet, a pocket knife or two, and a snack for later. He washes it on the first day of every month to keep it fresh smelling and clean.

He his almost always covered in sandy dust or a mud of some sort from his work outside.

Personality Description: Dallas is a mostly serious and organized man. He can sometimes be playful and messy, but only when he's tired or drunk, which isn't often at all. He isn't a crazy organized person who labels pencils as 'writing utensil #1" but he likes to fold his clothes and every article has a place, he wears mis-matched socks sometimes, but that doesn't bother him too much.

Dallas is a committed and hard working individual who finds the end result of his efforts gratifying. He's very keen on helping people, animals, and the beasts of the wizarding world alike. He's not biased in any way shape or form, and he's generally very open, except when he's feeling a little down in the dumps. He likes to keep to himself and enjoys drinking a cup of Scottish tea at the end of everyday by the fire in his armchair with his feet up and his dog by his side.

Although Dallas treasures hard work, he also does enjoy taking it slow, and relaxing from work, laying in a hammock with a glass of lemonade and a book in the summer months. He's a man of simple pleasures and doesn't like to be in the spotlight, he'd much rather achieve his own goals than the goals set for him by others.

He's has a high level of dignity that he keeps to himself, and doesn't often ask for help. Dallas is also a very lucky person. He finds galleons on the streets sometimes as he walks, and other things that put a bit of bounce in his step.

History: Darrel Oliver Locksley was born on a normally rainy day in the capital of Scotland to muggle, Oliver Locksley, and witch Mae Morgan Locksley. As a child, Darrell always loved being outside and rolling around in the mud and setting traps for woodland critters and bringing them home to show is parents, being sprayed by skunks on more than on occasion. He played with the other boys his age and was rather athletic.

He enjoyed helping out his father, a sailor, with his work. He grew strong by carrying massive bags onto the boat and his appetite grew as well, he'd sometimes eat up to 10 eggs on a good day for breakfast and pounds of meat for dinner. He was never a fan of peas, but loved asparagus and brussel sprouts, couldn't get enough of them. He was six feet at age 14 before anyone knew what happened.

When Darrell attended Hogwarts, he was sorted into Gryffindor. He put hard work into his studies, reaching all of his own set standards and exceeding his professor's expectations of him. He was on the quidditch team for a while and there was an accident with a bludger and Darrell's arm was broken. After a bit of recovery, he turned down the option to return to the quidditch team and continued his studies and graduated with high marks.

When Darrell graduated, he made a descision that would change his life forever. He decided that for one year, he would put away his wand. He had craved work without magic since he attended Hogwarts for the first time, loving the summers when he couldn't use it, going on fishing trip with his father until late at night and the word's "Charms, Potions, and Defense' never came up.

He prepared himself over the summer after graduation, when most muggle students were preparing for college, he had locked his wand away in a safe back in Scotland, and with a bag on his shoulder, kissed his parents good-bye and sailed to America to find an adventure. New England reminded him too much of his home. He did visit Salem  in Massachusetts, and then moved farther south to where it was hot and dry.

Darrell found himself in Texas, working as a farm hand on a large ranch. The owners took one look at his size and hired him right away. The other guys made fun of him for a bit because of his accent, Darrell took it in good spirit, and the teasing was out away one day when a heard of horses escaped. Darrell jumped on a bare-back horse, and with just a length of rope and a bit of good luck, rounded up the entire herd by himself in a matter of an hour and a half.

The other ranch hands watched open jawed as Darrell came riding back in on the horse, sweating like a stuck pig, but with the biggest smile on his face. He was then given the nickname Dallas, and he liked it so much, he started asking people to call him that, but people didn't need much coaxing. He was a hero in the town he lived in, and soon his year was up, and he dreaded saying good-bye.

He returned back to Scotland where he worked on his father's fishing boat contently for the next few years, using magic here and there. He wanted to find better work and was informed a position was open at his old school, and he decided to cyanit out.

Describe your job duties and how you go about them:

Dallas runs errands for the Headmistress, and he is the keeper of all the keys in the castle, which all conveniently fit in his trench coat pockets. He also keeps the grounds neat and keeps the beasties in the Forbidden Forest at bay.

He informs the headmistress of any students lurking about the forest line and he any disturbances from the beasts in the forest. He also keeps the grounds neat and his trusty collie, Thor, scares off any unwantedcyantters.

Elaborate on your expertise in your field: Dallas runs a tight ship and isn't much for tom-foolery, he works hard and throws himself into everything he does, even if he has to take out the trash, he just wants to see his job completed, and he takes great pride in his work and the grounds he keeps and is very serious aboucyans job.

Sum up your character in one paragraph: Dallas is a man of simple pleasures whom likes to see a job well done, he never does anything half-way and learned hard work from his father and is glad to be back in his old stomping grounds.

Career Change

Character Name: Dallas Locksley
Character Biography: http://absitomen.com/index.php?topic=13598.0
Previous Job/Position: Hogwarts Keeper of Keys and Grounds
Position Applying For: Care of Magical Creatures Professor

Why have you chosen to change careers?:
I decided to change Dallas' career because I think that while it's fine and dandy to be working outside, I think Dallas would like to be more social in the castle itself. Since he has a vast collection of magical beasts and a passion for protecting them, as well as teaching people to be cautions of them.

I think it would also be an opportunity for Dal to get to know more people and be more social than he was when he was young.

Elaborate on your expertise in this new field:
Locksley gets along very well with kids in general, since his laid back attitude lets kids have freedoms, he also has tight rule enforcement techniques. He's very organized and runs on a schedule all day, everyday.

Dal has loved animals from a young age, and as he got older, he began collecting and caring more magical beasts, from puffskeins to small dragons, Dallas Locksley has seen it all.

Dal has a vast knowledge of beasts and creatures and always have a copy of  Mythical Beasts and Where to Find Them tucked in his pants pocket.

Since he's been talking to students over his past month of employment, he's given away little pearls of knowledge, that he'd like to give on a larger scale.

Describe your new job and how you go about doing it:
Dallas would outline lesson plans, teach classes using conventional and original techniques, grade students on participation, preparation, and their work in the class. Locksley runs through his schedule like clockwork and gets papers graded, and students to work on time, without fail.
