M ade out of chestnut wood, with a Dragon Heartstring core, Éloi's wand, is probably his most loved possession—and given that his love for himself knows no boundaries, that is saying something. Measuring 12 inches, rigid and with a spiraled shaft, the wand had been his 15th try. Yes, fifteenth. By his seventh try, Albert - Éloi's father - was sure the wandmaker was a phony and his products were defective. Ce n'est pas possible" he'd said to the man. But the old man smiled kindly and assured him that his products were perfect. It was his son that just happened to be terribly confused and undecided, therefore the wands had trouble bonding with him.

And so, when a wand finally warmed up in his small hand, and he felt the magic pour through him and out of him—if only for the terrible boredom he had endured and time he had wasted—little Éloi immediately fell in love with his wand.
É loi is not handsome. No, Éloi is beautiful. He is the perfect balance between masculine and feminine, between boy and man. While standing at an imposing height of 185 centimeters, the frame of his body is toned but lean, with a narrow waist, muscular, but bordering on skinny. And although his style is manly and elegant, he prefers a tighter cut to his suits and light, flowing, luxurious materials that cling to his body. And top hats. And masks—what am I saying? He is actually obsessed with any peculiar headdress. And don't put it behind him to even wear flowers in his hair.

His face is by far his most intriguing and attractive feature—combining the harsh lines of his cheekbones with the fullness of his lips, his strong brow line with his delicate nose and his big eyes with their dangerous, come-hither glare, all create a beautiful contrast of masculinity and femininity. His mother always used to tell him jokingly that were he to amuse himself with some make-up and one of her dresses, none would be the wiser as to his true gender. Éloi never took well to his mother's jokes, because although he did enjoy a metropolitan lifestyle, always concerned with his looks - and he spends both copious amounts of time and money to maintain his perfection— he was still a man.

Taking by his father's side of the family, his hair is originally of a light blonde. However, being the dandy gentleman that he is, Éloi, has the habit of dying it a few shades lighter or darker, depending on his many and varied moods. His pale, luminous skin -combined with his long, light colored hair- illuminate his steel gray eyes and help them entrance through their depth and intensity. And his eyes are wondrous indeed... Although he constantly looks as if some horrible stench is invading his senses and you are the cause of it - and should be severely punished for it - he does not always feel that way. After a few many glasses you can always hear him complaining about his "cursed eyes" and "natural glare that could kill" and 'but I never mean to frighten them". On the other hand, Éloi actually enjoys the dark and mysterious aura it gives him, but he must always find something to complain about.

Éloi walks like he owns every bit of pavement, carpet, ground or stone he steps on. His back straight, his stride neither too big, neither too small, his head held high, occasionally a smile on his face—but most often than not a sneer, scowl or general disapproval—his hands in his pockets or, when he's entertaining at the club, politely resting on one of his many outrageously expensive canes.

A perfect completion to his dapper appearance is his voice: suave, slow and absolutely French. Having emigrated to the United Kingdom rather recently, he is still struggling with the vocabulary, but one thing is for sure, his accent is so heavily French, many have trouble understanding him. And half of his phrases start or end with an affectionate - or, au contraire, quite sarcastic - chéri or chérie. Also, when sure he won't be understood, or only understood by the few who count, he has no problem imparting his vast knowledge on French curses and other such blasphemies. After all, swearing in French... Oh well, you know.
M esdames et messieurs, the one, the only—the fabulous, Éloi Desrosiers! In all seriousness, Éloi really is quite something. He is as the perfect poisoned apple: beautiful and entrancing on the outside, while rotten and toxic on the inside. Taking the worst from both his mother and father, growing up in his family has definitely affected Éloi most precariously. And while his father has certainly passed on his darker tendencies, his mother, has endowed him with his more... interesting quirks and perks.

He is as frivolous, petulant, spiteful and inconsiderate as a spoiled seven year old girl. And to perfectly accessorize those characteristics, his ego takes up the size of a palace, he is obsessed with his own image and will instantly hate - and want to crush - anything that shadows his beauty, his extravagance could tear a hole in a small island's budget and, last but not least, his flamboyance could easily rival Oscar Wilde's—which is actually lovely. On the other hand, he also picked up some of Anna's more - hmmm - amiable traits. When not throwing one of his tantrums, he is actually most charming. And if, and only if, the situation so demands it, his manners can be impeccable and he could dine with Kings and Princesses, without once making a gaffe. But where would the fun be in that?

He also has a very curious nature, but his inquisitiveness is rather wasted on the juiciest gossips of the moment. The same can be said about his mind and memory. After graduating from Beauxbatons, his mind has only been occupied with names, events, music and, at times, numbers and addresses—none, of any academic significance, mind you.

And while - by this point - you might as well sum him up as a rich, spoiled, snobbish diva, he also has a dark, mysterious and alluring side. Following in his father's steps, he is well versed in the arts of manipulation, dark and witty humor and negotiation. Still, courtesy to his father he is also a master of seduction and theatrics. However, all is not captivating and enigmatic. No, because Éloi is a heartless, sick, sadistic bastard and he treats people as if they were his toys. He meticulously plans his approach, invests time, finances and even feelings aplenty to 'acquire' them, uses them excitedly for a few weeks, only to discard them after they had met their purpose—or, in worst case scenarios, after he has broken them.

Spoiled rotten, is he not? Although... there is only one thing he holds sacred—his family, the blood of his blood. And, believe it or not, in complete contradiction with at least 80% of his family he is not prejudiced against muggles, muggleborns or other magical creatures. No, Éloi judges people by how much they interest and amuse him. Nevertheless, as long as it's all fun, games, parties and copious amounts of debauchery, he will be on his best behavior, and, therefore,  prove to be the most magnificent company.
    Family Background
A lbert Desrosiers and Anna Alain were not the sort of people that should have become parents. They weren't very good at marriage either. Growing up together, first as family friends and then as best friends, they were forced into an arranged marriage that turned their profound, perfect friendship into spite, frustration and disdain.

Albert Desrosiers was never a pleasant person, being the youngest child in a rich aristocratic family where the first born received any and all privileges, had definitely hardened him. But he always found solace in his best friend, Anna Alain, the sole daughter of his mother's best friend—she, herself of an old, rich and most noble family. So, when he was informed that his arranged bride was none other than Anna, his entire world crumbled. They were like brother and sister and it all seemed unnatural, impossible. But there was nothing he could do, he was an honorable man and a filial son.

So they went through with it, without complaining once. But after the first night they spent together, everything was gone. Their friendship, their feelings for each other, but most importantly something broke inside of them. From there on, their relationship continued to degrade, until eventually they could not stand the sight of each other. But when their first - and only - son was born, they decided, that at least for the sake of their old friendship they will stick together to the best of their abilities. In retrospect, seeing how Éloi turned up to be, they regretted their decision.

They started living apart, each having their own separate, private lives and only endured the presence of each other in the time they spent together with heir son. Albert turned even more spiteful at seeing his own parents fawning over Arianne, the granddaughter of his eldest brother, while completely ignoring his  son. And so he set to make his life his own, and started building what is today the "Desrosiers Entreprises Familiales"—a cluster of family owned businesses. All the while, Anna had taken to changing lovers more often than socks, shopping and socializing as much as she could.
    Early Years and Childhood
I n such a toxic environment, Éloi did not have a pleasant childhood. While he lived his mother, who was by far the more affectionate of his parents, she refused to be involved in his care while he was still a baby, and was therefore raised by a Nanny, and later on by a Governess and even later, more by his tutors and professors. But she was not completely cruel, no. She just had no idea how to deal with children, so while the boy was still unaware of his surroundings and not quite able to understand her, she preferred to delegate. Albert, visited on weekends but only to inquire after him and see him. If Anna, did not know how to treat with children, Albert refused to. And he'd always treated Éloi like a person responsible of his own fate, almost like and adult.

But once the toddler years were out of the way, Anna became more attached to him, and one could say she was almost a loving mother. Still, she much treated him like a favorite, special doll, than an actual child, preferring to dress him, take him to all her tea parties, teach him poetry and songs. Really, Anna knew nothing of little boys, and she had always imagined she'd have a perfectly blonde little girl—and she saw nothing wrong in treating her son like one. She much enjoyed parading him to her friends and relatives - aristocratic families like the Vaillancourts and Báthorys - who were indeed very happy to see the evolution of the beautiful child. On the other hand, his father had taken to methodically supervising his lessons, taking him to work, always trying to impart the knowledge of the written word and the ways of the human mind.

And yet childhood had been bearable, both his parents fussed about him and he always had their full attention. And each of his small accomplishments was always met with approval. His mother's silly and affectionate behavior with him and his father's grave, strict discipline balanced nicely and so he did not feel pressured. Not until he started school.
    Beauxbatons Student Years
B y eleven years old,  Éloi had already started to pick up some of his parents traits, but he was still a good kid. However, the second he had entered an environment that put him in contact with other, normal, families and eh started to realize the wrongs in his family, he soon started to change. Not only that, but also both of his parents had begun to pull him in different directions, each wanting something else for their only son.

Both Anna and Albert had started demanding more of him, Albert in his education and Anna from his social standing. But they both agreed that the more he achieved the more freedom they would give him. So he struggled to keep them both pleased. He did well in his classes, opting to emphasize on those classes that would help him follow in his father's footsteps, while still maintain a large circle of acquaintances and connections for his mother's sake. Around the time he had finished the collège, he showed signs of giving in under the pressure of his parent's demands and started to stray from his duties and fall in with the wrong crowd.

Of course, it took the Desrosiers little to no time to hear about their son's misdemeanor and properly punish him by denying him access to all of his funds and friends, so that's when Éloi learned that it is best to drag a clear line between his professional life and his personal life—well, no, not really, he just learned to be very subtle and also keep his parents utterly blissful with his achievements so he could do whatever he damn well pleased. So he continued to get the best grades in those subjects that most interested his father, kept up with his mother's acquaintances and made sure to entertain whomever she - not so subtly -  implied he should associate himself with, and so seven years of school passed rather uneventfully.

He graduated very well, making his father as proud as one as selfish as Albert could be and Anna's social circles all loved him, making her incredibly happy with him. All was fine and dandy in the Desrosiers family. Well—at least from the outside, because Éloi was finally free of the confines of morality and society norms.
    Post Beauxbatons Years to Present
B ut Éloi did not have much time to  relish in his new-found freedom, because Albert wasted no time in putting his recently finished education at work. He promptly entrusted him with a small number of businesses from the family company and instructed him diligently on how they should be run. So while he battled with trying to take the enterprises to the next level and finally be free of his familial duties, he found that he had enough time to still enjoy the beauties of life: clubs, social gatherings of less than moral standing, enjoying the sultry notes of cabaret music and collecting fine works of art and clothing... and lovers—because there was really not that much difference between the two. All the while, while still keeping his mother and her socialite friends entertained and really, Anna's friends - high, upstanding, noble ladies - had rather taken to accepting her invitation for tea more for the sake of fawning over her most charming, beautiful son.

But Éloi was growing bored with the routine of his life, and even if he took much pride in having saved his father's businesses and taking them to entirely new levels, and his dalliances into the debauchery and depravity of the Paris night life gave him much satisfaction and his mother's silly friends were a welcome amusement—it was all so incredibly boring. But one night, while enjoying a Peach And Lime Daiquiri at the bar of one famous cabaret establishment in Montmartre he happened to meet his dear first cousin one removed, mademosielle Arianne Ophélie Desrosiers. And wasn't that a fortuitous encounter? He had lost touch with her, their age difference at the time of his childhood made it difficult for them to get along, so they did not meet outside of family meetings. Not to mention that his father completely hated Arianne's father, his nephew, because his parents had chosen to completely ignore Éloi and instead turned the focus of their attention unto Arianne. But Éloi had no business with his father's grudges, and he and Arianne were so similar and like-minded he could not care less. True she was more restrained and preferred to uphold to the expectations of all around her at all times during public situations, but she was as much a libertine as he was by night time.

So when his father had finally decided to let him succeed on his own, and Arianne announced she'll be leaving for England, he wasted not on second in preparing to depart with her. He was, of course, rather disappointed to hear she'd be locked away in some dreadful old castle in Scotland while he was stuck in London with no acquaintances at all, but he soon snaked his way into the upper class society circles and in a few weeks since his arrival, "Le Masquerade", his cabaret club was open. Now, the cabaret, was truly something special and it gave him so much pleasure just knowing it existed that when the business actually started to pick up he was elated. He had created the venue to perfectly suit his needs. It was luxurious, select but most of all private. One needed an invitation and a key to be able to enter it, and only those that he deemed worthy were accepted, and to suit the needs of his favorite cousin he also implement its most special feature: complete anonymity. Everyone from the clients to the staff that actually interacted with them, was bound by a magical contract signed upon accepting the invitation to wear a mask. Of course, inside the many private rooms, one could choose to reveal their identity but in the public areas of the club, each and every one was equal with the other—except for Éloi, which chose to wear a mask only on special occasions or with a special outfit.

And, of course, given his predilection for the immoral and total freedom of expression, what one does in the private rooms of his club stays there and never leaves the club or reaches any ears. One cannot say the same with Éloi, however, as he prefers to subtly keep himself informed with the happenings in the seemingly completely private booths, to keep himself amused, and of course to ensure that something were ever to happen with his club, he'd have something to negotiate with. And, while he himself, never gets involved with some of the less than upstanding citizens frequenting his club or their rather illegal transactions, he still offers them a safe haven, as long as they can pray the price, and of course, entertain him.

He's slowly starting to expand and accept more members, and through the club he is also starting to acquaint himself with various people he enjoys the company of. He doesn't really do friends, but he is certainly interested in some of his clients to also join him in personal life. And with some he has managed, with others he still prefers to watch from afar
I n all fairness, Éloi's job doesn't really require him to do anything. There's really not that much to owning a venue. But we could probably say he does nothing and yet, almost everything. Let's see... While he mostly leaves the boring, paperwork and actual operation of the club to his manager, he does dabble in almost everything else. He is occasionally required to sign documents, contracts and other paper work. And even tho he rarely checks what exactly he is signing for, he relies on the expertise of his most trusted employee: his lawyer. Because of his petulance and also a dash of paranoia, he personally does all the hiring and firing. Everyone, from the dancers, performers and the guards guards, to the serving and kitchen personnel and even the cleaning staff. And although they are most capable at their jobs, they are all very peculiar characters, so one can't help but wonder just what exactly are his selection criterion....

Seeing as his club is invitation-only, he is also in charge of the actual selection of his clientele. It usually starts with a gossip, before it turns into a detailed research into the life of his possible future client. If he is satisfied with the investigation, he will send out an envelope containing his now famous, mysterious invitation and an ornate golden key, embellished with small sapphires. If the prospective clients chooses to accept his invitation, he will then interview them subtly, in the form of polite conversation and eventually accept or decline them as full members. He also reviews his clients' requests for new members—the only other way to gain access to the venue.

Éloi, however takes the most pleasure out of planning the many, varied themed nights and playing host on weekends and events. And, although he can also be seen mingling and socializing during the week, he prefers to make his entrance when the venue is brimming with clients. His most atrocious duty is having to charm, converse, keep his current investors happy and try to attract even more. Which he doesn't always manage—as a matter fact his investors come and go like seasons. Not one to cater to the whims of somebody else, and most certainly not willing implement any ideas but his, he always ends up driving them away.

While, normally he probably would be required to do even more, he has his ways and eventually manages to delegate. Which, in truth, actually works perfect for everyone. He knows all small employees dream of having more power and responsibilities, and for a small fee Éloi is free of those jobs keeps the staff satisfied.
O ne week out of Beauxbatons and Albert already had Éloi tasked with running three of the family businesses. And Éloi was happy to comply and was most confident in his skills. After all watching his father run his business empire for so many years, the fine education received at the Academy and also the prestigious tutors that had trained him along the years had been all for this moment.

His mother's teachings on social conventions, his charm and his father's firm instruction had helped him fly like a breeze through the three years in which he was put under his father's service. He helped the businesses bloom and brought them to this century, modernizing them and making them more accessible to a younger market. The robes shop he took from under his for his father expanded most magnificently thanks to his excellent - only if he wills it - negotiation skills and charm.

However, as soon as Éloi turned twenty, Albert packed him up and sent him into the world to make something out of himself, through his own struggle. It wasn't anywhere near as dramatic as sending a young boy to fight off the monsters in the woods to come back a man. No, it was the aristocratic adaptation of it. Giving him full access to his trust fund and a small start-up capital, he was instructed to invest his money as he saw fit, make a name of himself, gain the respect and business of those that could help him advance in life make a true profit, and only then, return home to fully come into his inheritance.

The idea for a select cabaret club came while taking a night stroll on the Boulevard de Clichy. However, his plan met with a few bumps as the Parisian market was supersaturated with this type of establishments. But, when the gods closed a door, they occasionally opened a window. Luck had it that his favorite cousin, Arianne Desrosiers was departing for England for the famous wizarding tournament of Hogwarts. It took him little to no effort to find out that such establishments were not as many in dreary, old London. And London could do with some mystery, passion and intrigues. So, Éloi wasted no time in packing up his life and trading Paris for London.
O wner of "Le Masquerade," a most select cabaret club with more than its share of depravity and debauchery, Éloi -an intelligent young man with a great penchant for beauty, human specimens of intriguing nature and true liberty of expression- is undoubtedly a fascinating individual. While beautiful, alluring, cultured and most persuasive, he also adheres to a very dubious code of morals, has a terribly frivolous nature reminiscent of a spoiled little girl, and treats humans like material possessions. However, despite his atrocious personality he is a very successful businessman, a most accomplished actor, and -if he so desires- can be truly charming, making good use of his silver tongue.
