[Dec. 21-Dec. 28]I have no clue what I'm doing[Damien]

on February 10, 2013, 05:47:54 AM

A short nap later and Imari realized that she left Damien in a hurry without an adequate explanation.  She sat up and quickly jotted down a note for him.  Slipping off her bed she called for the house-elf that cleaned the 6th year Slytherin dorms - Whimper.  She gave the note to her and watched her disappear before settling back on her bed and staring at the ceiling.

Damien,

I realize that I left you quite hurriedly[1], and for that I apologize.  I remembered that I have a half-finished paper in my room and I should really finish it before school starts back up.  I should of explained myself further, but I wasn't thinking.  I'm very sorry.

Missing you already,
Imari

Damien was laying on his bed, tossing a baseball up and catching it over and over as he thought about what he did to make Imari run off so fast. His thoughts were confusing him when suddenly his friend ran in, note in hand. "They almost read it," he said, "You've got to watch out for your mail, Reynolds." Damien read it quickly and started to write back.

Dear Imari,
December 21st

It's alright, I'm the one who wasn't thinking. I shouldn't of just asked such a blunt question and not given you an explanation, that was stupid of me. And I'm sorry for that. I feel bad for asking...

I hope your paper isn't too awful. I've got homework of my own but I'm too busy... procrastinating. I'm an expert at it.

Love you,
Damien

Imari got Damien's note back and thought for a moment before writing him back.  She didn't know what was going on with her, but she knew one thing for sure. She couldn't lie to Damien about anything.

Dec. 21

Damien,

I can't lie to you.  I didn't have a paper to write.  I had to be alone for a little while.  I'm sorry and I'll see you tomorrow okay.

Love Imari

Imari,

Take your time, I understand. It's really no problem, just take a nap or something and get some rest. You looked really worn out when you went back to your dorms. See you tomorrow at breakfast? I'll save a seat for you if you'd like.

Missing you,
Damien

Imari read his note and then half-distracted wrote him back.

Damien,
I will be happy to meet you for breakfast in the morning.  I am sorry I've been so weird for the last couple days.
Love Imari.

Dec. 22
Late afternoon/evening

Imari,

I'm glad I got to see you this morning, but I'm still really worried. I don't feel like   want to say anything   want to be rude I'm about to turn in for the night, but I hope you're doing better soon. Please let me know if I can do anything. Even if you just want to talk, I've got lots of time... If you write me back soon, I'll still be up for about another half-an-hour if you need me. Let me know.

Love,
Damien

Imari read the letter twice before realizing why Damien was worried.  She hadn't even noticed that she didn't eat as much as she usually did when they met for breakfast.  She sighed and wrote back.

Damien,

You shouldn't worry, I will be fine.  I just had a rough morning and was distracted at breakfast.  Want to meet in the alcove after lunch tomorrow.  I promise I'll be bewtter company.

Love Imari

After successfully fighting with his friends over the letter Imari had sent him, he finally got to opening it. His dorm mates had thought it would be funny to tease him about his girlfriend, but they didn't think it was so funny after he had tried to appeal to them with candy, ones that made you sound like a girl every time you talked. For girls it was the opposite, and they would find their voices much lower. But Damien enjoyed watching his buddy try to figure out why his voice was so high-pitched. It would wear off in five minutes though...

Dear Imari,

I'm glad to hear it, well not glad that it was a rough morning... but that you'll be better. Providing my roommates don't kill me in my sleep (I'll explain later), then I'll meet you in the alcove. Hope you sleep well tonight, and I'll see you tomorrow after lunch.

Yours,
Damien

Imari was planning on going to the alcove after lunch, but she took a small nap after breakfast and when she woke up, she realized she'd missed lunch and she hopped out of her bed, brushed her hair, said a spell to get the wrinkles out of her clothes and rushed to the alcove.  Later that night she felt bad and sent Damien a note.

Damien,
I'm so sorry I was running late today.  I took a nap after breakfast and slept too long.  I hope you weren't worried about me.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried about you...

But it was nice to see you before. Even if you looked a little tired.

Love you,

Damien

P.S. If I were to make cookies, what kind would you like? I've got a baking charm to practice and I need a victim test taster! :) Are you willing?

Imari received Damien's note and felt horrible.  She'd been thinking about her sister all day and Damien didn't even enter her thoughts.  She was being a horrible girlfriend, but she couldn't seem to pull herself out of the small depression she'd fell into.

Damien,

I'm being a horrible girlfriend.  I am so sorry that I've been flaking on you lately.  Something is wrong with me and I'm sure that I should just let you break up with me.

Imari

Don't say that! You worry me when you say things like that, and I don't want you to be thinking that I want to break up with you. Nobody is perfect and we all have bad days, or weeks. It will pass, I promise you. If you need some time alone, just let me know and I'll give you some space.

Damien

He sends off the letter, his heart beating erratically. Break up? Why would she say that? Did she want to break up? He couldn't think about this right now, but right now, she was the only thing on his mind.
