(Dec. 14) Puppets (Antonia) on January 04, 2013, 10:46:23 AM Jack was feeling rather bored. Not the bored when you have nothing to do, the bored where there has been no fun all day. He decided to take a walk down memory lane. Unfortunately, they wern't good memories. The third floor was never fun for Jack. He walked by where he and Lucy fought.[1] Oh how that was fun. He saw a dried up slug near one of the corners, he knew he won that battle. Then he walked to the Armor Gallery[2] where Rohan and that Durmstrong kid fought. Why was there so much fighting? Jack could only hope that this fight was for the better good. After a few minutes of quiet thoughts he was bored, again.Remebering that humor was always a good way to cure boredom he quietly whispered,"Tarantallegra." while aiming his wand at one of the suits of armor. It began to dance around the room, putting a smile on Jacks face. He began to feel as though he forgot something... the door! Jack could only watch as the suit of armor began to dance out of the room. He chased after it but the spell quickly ended and the body collapsed into a pile of metal, right next to another student. "I'm so sorry." was a he could muster to say 1. http://absitomen.com/index.php?topic=12190.0 2. http://absitomen.com/index.php?topic=12190.0 Skip to next post Re: (Dec. 14) Puppets (Antonia) Reply #1 on January 05, 2013, 04:59:42 PM Antonia had been wandering the corridors for a while now, looking for a place to sit down and read in peace. Normally, she would sit in the common room, or in the Library, but Antonia wanted a slight change of scenery. That and the fact she hadn't really explored Hogwarts yet, and what with the holidays so soon, it gave her the perfect excuse to roam the castle. Antonia had somehow ended up on the third floor, just outside the Armour Galley. The door was wide open, and she wondered whether anyone was in there. Antonia had just started to walk inside the room when a suit of armour danced out of the door, before collapsing rather loudly. She jumped backwards in surprise, glancing upwards as she heard someone mutter an apology."It's alright, not like it scared me or anything," Antonia muttered sarcastically, wondering whether to ask how he had done that or glare at the boy. She paused for a few seconds, staring at the armour as she thought. "Anyway, how did you do that in the first place?" Antonia asked quickly. He saw her jump and heard her little comment afterwards. He chuckled, she got scared. "Anyway, how did you do that in the first place?" Jack smiled, he took pride in learning some of the less useful spells. Any spell that appealed to him he would practice almost everyday when no one was looking. Whether it be making a bar of soap dance in the bathroom or make candy float, he would practice until he got it right. "Well we learned sometime...I don't remember. Any who the spell makes things dance, I'm surprised you don't know it?" It was his fault. By all means, Antonia should be laughing at him, since his spell had failed the moment it left the room. And now she thought of it, the boy did look familiar, but that didn't surprise Antonia. What did surprise her was the stupid armour jumping out of the door. And now the boy was smiling, and that just wasn't fair. Antonia could never tell why someone was smiling, and this just annoyed her even more. Was he smiling because of her reaction to the dancing armour, or because of her question? Either way, she didn't like it. "I'm sorry, not all of us have photographic memories," Antonia snapped, eyes dark with anger and annoyance. "Is that alright with you, sir?" It infuriated Antonia that she didn't have a photographic memory, but there was no reason to say that out loud. She did wish she could remember everything, but that was what pensieves were for. He just assumed that maybe she's having a bad day. "Sorry, I don't either. I didn't mean to offend you." Jack thought that since it was Ignan's class, if you didn't have a spell familiarized after he taught you, your a dead man. He walked around the suit of armor, with a small smile on his face. "Do you wanna re learn it? " Jack picked up the helmet from the pile. "We can start on this." Skip to next post Re: (Dec. 14) Puppets (Antonia) Reply #5 on January 07, 2013, 03:59:50 PM Antonia raised an eyebrow, surprised at the quick apology, and a bit stunned too. She wasn't used to people apologising to her. Usually they were demanding that she apologise. "Why on earth would you think that?" she muttered quietly, hopefully too quiet for him to hear, an small, amused smile on her face. She glanced at the helmet, wondering whether the weight of the metal would affect the spell. Of course it would, Antonia thought, almost reprimanding herself. "Well, I'm not the type of person to not let myself know something. What's the charm? I didn't hear it first time round." He was busy placing the helmet on the floor in between them. "Okay so the spell is Tarantallegra." He took a few steps away from the helmet and quickly recited the spell "Tarantallegra" Almost instantaneously, the helmet began to bop around. Since it has no legs the helmet just hoped up and down, no higher than a few inches. Jack decided that the helmet would start to get dirty or something along those lines and said loudly, "Finite" with a small thud the helmet stopped moving, again lying motionless.Jack turned to Antonia with a chuckled smile,"Your turn." Skip to next post Re: (Dec. 14) Puppets (Antonia) Reply #7 on January 08, 2013, 02:51:21 PM Antonia watched carefully as the boy recited the spell, mouthing the charm silently. She grimaced as the helmet started hopping, moving backwards slightly. She didn't trust objects hopping, especially when they didn't even have legs. Antonia started to wonder how the magic managed to move the helmet without legs, but her thoughts were cut off when the helmet stopped moving.Antonia moved forwards slightly, withdrawing her wand from her robes. "Tarantallegra," she pointed her wand at the helmet, watching it carefully. The helmet started moving again, but less so than when the boy had done it. "Not as good as I would have hoped." Antonia thought aloud, lips pursed.Turning to the boy, Antonia raised an eyebrow. Since he hadn't indicated whether he knew her name or not, Antonia decided to take it upon herself to discover his name. It was annoying, referring to him as 'the boy'. "My name's Toni Carbonell, and yes, that's Toni with an 'i', not a 'y'. What's your name?" Skip to next post Re: (Dec. 14) Puppets (Antonia) Reply #8 on January 08, 2013, 08:18:41 PM Jack saw the helmet move, but not to a degree that Jack made it. It as fun teaching, probably the first time Jack's ever not been the pupil. Then the girl spoke up after long pause, "My name's Toni Carbonell, and yes, that's Toni with an 'i', not a 'y'. What's your name?" Jack remembered the name once she said it. It was like she was always there, just not participating. Realizing that she was waiting Jack quickly spoke up," Oh sorry, hehe my name's Jack...well it's really John but I don't like that." Hopefully she wouldn't be annoying and call him John on purpose. The name was just so boring and educated. Pointing back to the helmet he gestured a hand," Wanna try again?" Skip to next post Re: (Dec. 14) Puppets (Antonia) Reply #9 on January 09, 2013, 01:02:27 PM Antonia shrugged, but raised her wand at the helmet again. "To be honest, I don't care what your proper name is, as long as it isn't stupid. But it's good to know I'm not the only one who loathes their proper name. And yes, of course I want to try again. There's a reason I'm a Ravenclaw, and it's not just for my amazing intellect," she smirked widely, curious what he would have to say to that. Antonia started to focus on the helmet, diverting her attention from Jack. "Tarantallegra!" Antonia recited loudly, the frustration clear in her voice. After a moment or two, the helmet started bouncing quickly, just as high as it had been when the bo- Jack had done it, or perhaps slightly higher. She couldn't tell from this angle, but it probably wasn't. "Well that took a while." Antonia announced sarcastically, smirking again. Oh, how she loved to smirk. Skip to next post Re: (Dec. 14) Puppets (Antonia) Reply #10 on January 09, 2013, 02:15:41 PM Such a fine detail of someone's else feeling the same way about their name made Jack smiled but then heard the bragging. Oh she was asking for it. He was almost to be sorted into RavenClaw due to his intellect but was instead chosen for HufflePuff. After almost yelling at the helmet it bounced and dance as much as Jack's did. Then Antonia bragged again. this didn't make Jack mad but made him want to 1 up her so she'd shut up," Great...now do it on the suit of armor, the WHOLE thing." He grabbed the helmet and placed it on top of the pile, smirking back at her," Think you can handle it? Smarty pants." Skip to next post Re: (Dec. 14) Puppets (Antonia) Reply #11 on January 09, 2013, 02:40:30 PM "Nothing wrong with having smart pants," Antonia smirked, "though I personally prefer smart hats." And that actually rhymed, which was good. But this sort of reaction was the sort of thing that Antonia loved. She knew why, but acknowledging that was a very bad thing, because that could lead to all sorts of nasty things. Like being nice."Let's hope this doesn't land on someone!" Antonia raised her eyebrows challengingly, daring him to contradict her. "Tarantallegra." The suit moved into a vague person sort-of shape, and started moving. It could be dancing, Antonia mused, but if it was, it wasn't very good at dancing. Even worse than herself, if it was possible. Skip to next post Re: (Dec. 14) Puppets (Antonia) Reply #12 on January 10, 2013, 08:46:37 PM Well she could talk the talk but not walk the walk, hopefully this will shut her up. Jack quickly said "Finite" and the somewhat human form of armor again became a pile of junk. He walked over to the pile and focused,"Tarantallegra" The suit of armor became completely animate, and looked like a human, dancing away. Probably the best Jack's done with the spell. He turned to Antonia,"I think we know that even RavenClaw's need practice. So want to try again?" Jack was hoping that she would hold her tongue, if she acted up again... Skip to next post Re: (Dec. 14) Puppets (Antonia) Reply #13 on January 12, 2013, 08:35:00 AM Antonia rolled her eyes as Jack reanimated the armour, this time look more human than it had when it had nearly landed on her. It annoyed her immensely that he could perform the spell better than her. She was the Ravenclaw, not him, and in her mind that meant she should be better at magic than him."No, I'm just standing here for no reason," Antonia replied sarcastically. "Finite," she repeated, watching carefully as the armour fell to the floor loudly. "But it's obvious that Ravenclaws need less compared to others," Antonia added, glancing over at Jack as she spoke, a smirk on her face.Third time lucky, or at least that was what Antonia hoped. "Tarantallegra." she recited, her smirk growing larger as the armour started to dance again. This time it was more fluid than the jerky movements from before, but she still had to admit the dancing itself was appalling. Jack knew he had to do something, he had to pu her in her place. As she was ranting on about how good being a RvenClaw is, he grabbed his wand.Being as impulsive as he his Jack muttered "Tarantallegra." at Antonia. She began dancing to some degree[1], arms flailing and legs jitering. It was quite humorous, for Jack, but hopefully she would stop acting like she was a perfect little goodie two shoe."
