Admete Brown Named New Head of Magical Law Enforcement

LONDON - This morning the Ministery of Magic announced the replacement for former Head of the Department for Magical Law Enforcement Cameron Rosier.  Minister of Magic Persepolis Zephyr received approval from the Wizengamot to appoint former Auror Admete Brown to the post.

Brown, 43, is a twenty-five year veteran of the Auror Corps, and a Senior Auror since 2007.  Her time in the field was cut short twice by injuries sustained in the line of duty, leading to her involvement in many inter-departmental committees, advisory boards and investigations.  She was instrumental in advising the Department of Mysteries concerning vital new spell-detection procedures, and was consulted during the 2008 reform of Werewolf Registration.

"We began considering Auror Brown because of her singular difference - she stood out a both a wit and a wand," said Minister Zephyr to reporters this morning.  "And we confirmed her because every further investigation into her background showed us that she was not only suited perfectly to being a decorated Auror, but that there was a great deal more she could give in service to the entire Department [of Magical Law Enforcement]."

Admete Brown will assume the post after a short ceremony later today.  The Department of Magical Law Enforcement includes not only the Auror Corps and Hitwizard Force, but the Improper Use of Magic Office, the Wizengamot Administration Services, the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office and the Office for the Detection and Confiscation of Counterfeit Defensive Spells and Protective Objects as well.  The Department is also home to the Wizengamot.
