Mathieu Vaillancourt: Keeper for the Tutshill Tornados on January 03, 2013, 11:12:51 PM Mon nom est [my name is]: Mathieu Perrin Vaillancourt Je suis né le [I was born on]: 16 April 1988 || 21 years of ageJe suis né à [I was born in]: Paris, FranceJe suis un [I'm a]: Pureblood Je suis allé à [I went to]: Beauxbatons Academy of MagicJe suis le [I am the]: Keeper || Tutshill Tornados ce qui signifie [which means]: I keep the big red ball from going in the three big shiny holes. It means that I fly around in the air to millions of screaming fans and soak up the attention. pourquoi moi [why me]: Because I’m an awesome flier. I have quick reflexes and amazing skill at the game. baguette magique [wand]: Teak wood, with the hair from the main of a kelpie for a core. The wand is a lengthy 14 ½ inches long and is rather swishy. Unlike his broomstick, Mathieu doesn’t spend near enough time polishing the wand (much to his brother Thomas’s dislike) and it’s usually pretty grimy and smudged with fingerprints. Je ressemble à [I look like]: Mathieu is a rather tall individual, especially as a Quidditch player, standing at a firm 6’3. His brunette hair is shaggy, and lightens in the sun to a dirty blonde color. Though covered by his lengthy hair, he has a high forehead and his ears hold one stud each. He has smoldering, blue eyes and strong bone structure. His nose is a bit large, but the small flaw only adds to his charm, like he isn’t afraid to get a broken nose for the game. Soft pink lips part to show pearly white, even teeth and when sound issues forth from the hole, it’s in a smoky baritone that makes people swoon. His body is toned from years of flying and exercise. His biceps bulge tantalizingly from beneath the various shirts that adorn his frame. Though a traditional, pureblooded wizard, Mathieu prefers to wearing muggle clothing (or no clothing at all) over stuffy wizard robes. The only robes he actually feels comfortable in are his tailored quidditch robes, and wears them proudly. Due to wearing a keeper helmet often, Mathieu usually has a pretty bad case of helmet-hair, but somehow it looks purposeful. Due to playing for years without gloves (and even with gloves) Mathieu’s hands are rough and callused.Je fais comme [I act like]: The youngest of four children, Mathieu was spoiled as a child and it’s given him a complex. Add the fact that he looks like sex-on-a-stick and he’s an extremely talented Quidditch player, and you’d think the world should fall at your feet too. That said, he’s a very kind person, with nice things to say about everyone. As the baby of the Vaillancourt household, Mathieu learned early how to defend himself and how to manipulate a story to his liking. Though he’s passionate about quidditch, he’s pretty apathetic about the other aspects of his life. He still likes to crash at his sister’s flat in Paris, he cares little about his health (as a heavy smoker), and his vault at Gringotts is usually stark empty. He’s great for a laugh, but can cut you to pieces with his words, his hands, or his wand if you piss him off. Mathieu flirts with anything on two legs, anything that catches his eye, that is. On the other end of the spectrum, he’s extremely respectful and a genuinely good guy, albeit a bit misguided. He’s fluent in both English and French, and is talented with his wand (I suppose a small amount of pun intended). Though he’s a traditional wizard, he doesn’t share the purist views that many of his family members do. He discriminates against none, until they’ve given reason for him to. He’s just as happy sitting in a muggle bar as to swigging a butterbeer in the Three Broomsticks. mon passé [my past]: Though his family had already made their big move to southern England by the time that Mathieu was conceived, Genevieve insisted that he be born in France, and thus Mathieu Perrin Vaillancourt was brought into the world. With two older brothers and an older sister, Mathieu had it easy as a kid. There was always someone else he could blame things on, and as the baby, he was automatically believed. By the time Mathieu was old enough to attend Beauxbatons with his family, he was more excited than he should have been. Though he could easily shrug off delinquencies on his siblings during the summer, he found that his little stunts didn’t work as well under the watchful eye of his parents during the school year. At Beauxbatons he found that he was exceptionally talented at wandwork and with flying. Juliette was the potioneer, Thomas was the wandmaker, and Mathieu was the flier. He made one of the schools quidditch teams by his second year and hasn’t looked back since. Though there seemed to be some issues going on in the wizarding world, Mathieu, like many youngsters, just thought it was part of life and didn’t think anything of it. His years at Beauxbatons passed in a blur. He was the popular and fun-loving jock, the kind of person that thrives in boarding schools. He made decent marks in school, and when he finally graduated, he accepted an offer from the Quiberon Quafflepunchers, as an alternate Keeper. He crashed on Juliette’s couch for a while, and had almost given up on a real professional quidditch job when, out of the blue, about six months ago, the Tutshill Tornadoes contacted him and offered a full-time position. Though living primarily in his sister’s flat in Paris, he quickly became estranged from his family. He fell quickly into a slippery life, taking up smoking and drinking heavily. He didn’t fight with his family, and still responded to owls from his mum, but avoided family reunions like the plague. After a couple years of bad behavior, one wants to settle, so the job wasn’t something he could easily pass up. Still couch-surfing, he hopped on his broom and headed to the UK, following in the footsteps of Juliette and Thomas. Since taking the spot for the Tornadoes, their standings have improved dramatically, securing his continued spot for the team. En résumé [sum it up]: Mathieu is a talented Quidditch player with a big head and the brains to match. He’s had little experience with the darker sides of life, but will doubtless start covering the blank spots in his bucket list soon. He’s a fun guy to be around and is planning on using his new job placement to help get a bit closer to his family. Skip to next post
