Cynthia has light skin and brown hair that she lets grow to her shoulders then cuts it up to her ears. Cynthia is 5' 6'' and is slim. She likes to go on walks, and tries to walk every day to keep her figure.
On makeup, she doesn't tend to wear a lot. She wears light brown eyeshadow, light mascara, and foundation. She doesn't have time to apply that much with a house of four kids. She has an extensive amount of earrings and a few necklaces. She always wears her wedding ring and engagement ring on her right hand.
Cynthia tends to wear plain shirts with jackets and jeans. Mom jeans, by the way. She loves her jean jacket. She doesn't tend to wear anything too flashy.
Personality Description: Cynthia is a mother. She loves almost everyone she meets. Cynthia would easily give up her life for any of her children or of those like her children. She is very caring and has a lot of love to give. Cynthia hates to see her children thin, and makes it her mission to fatten them up. She has a habit of somewhat adopting people, like Chloe Harris. When she realizes that a child does not have a good family, she tends to open her house to them, and become their somewhat mother.
On love, she is a faithful, and loving wife to her husband, Franklin. She does, however, wear the pants in the relationship. If the kids needed a form signed or something like that, she'd be the one they brought it to first. Cynthia loves her husband, and her children, as well as the kids she calls "Her adoptive kids".
With new people, Cynthia is friendly. She is happy to make new friends, though she doesn't like having to hide her magical ability. However, with Oulton Broad's vast amount of magical people, she is less worried with having to hide her magic.
Cynthia is a bit of a neat freak, and always keeps her house clean. She loves to cook, and she isn't afraid of much. She's not afraid to stand up against the pompous people of the town who call her strange since she doesn't own a computer. The house she owns doesn't have any electronics because she likes to have use of her magic.
Cynthia is a good mother. She takes good care of her children and isn't afraid to contact someone if her child is unhappy. The one thing she wants for her kids is for them to be happy and for them to be safe.
History: Cynthia was born on December 18th 1959. She was born to Francine and Joe Houtain, Francine being a squib and Joe being a muggle. Five years later, Cynthia's sister, Caitlyn, was born. Growing up, Caitlyn and Cynthia were very close, Cynthia being rather protective of her younger sister. Sometimes, it seemed, Caitlyn didn't like how protective Cynthia was, as Cynthia usually prevented Caitlyn from doing dangerous things. Dangerous things, that Caitlyn would find fun.
When Cynthia turned 11, strange things began to happen. She began to show the signs of being magical. Her mother was very bothered by this because she did not like magic and thought that because she was a squib, no magic would be inherited from her. She believed that Cynthia was just like a muggleborn; that Caitlyn would not inherit the magical qualities at all. Not knowing what to do, the couple sent Cynthia to Hogwarts, hoping to rid themselves of her and her weirdness.
Cynthia was sorted into Gryffindor for bravery that wouldn't show through until she was much older. She cared for her friends and did protect them, but the courage did not appear until 1998. She did very well in her classes, and found a love for Defense against the Dark Arts.
When Cynthia got off the train that first winter break, her parents were no where to be seen. They were disgusted by her, knowing that she was magical, and did not want to pick her up, let alone let her live with them. When night fell at Kings Cross, a teacher, who had come along for the ride saw this girl was alone, and took her back to Hogwarts to spend the winter there.
Most of her next winters were spent at Hogwarts, and her summers in London, staying with friends from Hogwarts. However, in her sixth year, a small first year came up to her; Caitlyn. Seems as though the girl's parents had disowned both of them, and when the school attempted to contact the parents, they were no where to be found.
Once Cynthia graduated, she got a job as a waitress and was soon able to earn enough money to by an apartment in London. When she went into a candy store to purchase some candy to send to her sister, she met Franklin Hunter, a kind and friendly muggle. They fell in love and when Cynthia was 22 years old, they married.
They worked and in 1984, they moved to Oulton Broad, Suffolk England, Cynthia pregnant with her first child, Mark Thomas Hunter. On December 13th 1984, Mark was born with dark brown hair. He was everything they wanted in a child; happy and healthy.
Two years later, in 1986, they welcomed Jane Leslie Hunter, a loud baby who had bright blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. As the kids grew up, the parents quickly could see the radical differences in personality between the two.
When Mark was accepted into Hogwarts in '95, Cynthia was overjoyed, knowing that magic was passed on. Luckily, a year later, Jane showed magic as well, securing Cynthia's hope for a magical family. Jane went to Hogwarts in 1997 and was sorted into Slytherin.
In 1997, Hogwarts was getting weird. Letters stopped coming from the kids. Cynthia typically would understand if replies came late, but the shocking thing was, no letters whatsoever were coming out of Hogwarts. When she picked up the kids for winter break and saw Mark covered in bruises, she immediately understood something wasn't right. She tried to contact school to find out what was happening, but got no response. A motherly sense kicked in that something big was about to happen, and she knew she had to keep her children safe.
At the time, Cynthia was pregnant with her last child, Alice. She sat down with Franklin, and explained that something bad was about to happen in the wizarding world. Being an accountant muggle, Frank didn't completely understand how bad the situation was, however, he did contact his sister Wendy, who lived in France and allowed them to come and stay in her basement.
Cynthia gave birth to Alice Hunter in Feburary of 98 in France, when it seemed the danger was only beginning. One day, in March, Cynthia had taken Jane, Mark, and Alice out for lunch in Diagon. Cynthia went into the bathroom to change Alice, when she heard Jane scream from the restaurant. Cynthia rushed back out, seeing two big death eaters in the diner, Mark (who was 13) slumped unconscious against a wall, and Jane being held from her ankle magically, as the death eaters cackled. The waitress who had been serving them was dead behind the counter.
This was when Cynthia's courage showed. With Alice in one arm, and her wand in her hand, Cynthia leapt from the bathroom casting a stupefy at the first goon, knocking him out, and then facing off against the second. Jane (12) was still dangling from above. Cynthia was able to cast a stupefy at the man and then be able to catch her daughter with a wingardium leviosa Maxima and guide her slowly back to the ground...
...All while holding Alice who cooed happily in her arm.
When she got her kids home, and revived Mark, she discovered that the death eaters mistook Mark for a muggleborn and decided to mess around with them. He had tried to protect him and his sister, but was unable.
They stayed in France until June of 98 when the world seemed safe. The Hunters then ventured home to Oulton Broad, where they settled in, and continued to raise their children.
All was normal until the summer of 2004, when, on a hot night, there was a knock on the door. When Cynthia went to the door, she saw a little baby with blonde hair and blue eyes lying on the front stoop, a note attached.
I can't take care of a baby yet. I'm too young.
I don't know what to do, and I know you're a good mom.
His name is Colin. Please take good care of him.
Not wanting to turn away a baby, Cynthia adopted Colin into the family. Cynthia never found out his true mother's name, but that didn't matter to her. The note made it seem that the mother was incapable of taking care of him. Colin (now 4) doesn't yet know that he was adopted, and Cynthia is not planning on telling him anytime soon.
In July of 2009, she saved her niece and daughter from a rouge werewolf. Her sister, Caitlyn did not accept her new werewolf daughter which drove a divide between the sisters; Cynthia disappointed that her sister would turn on her daughter for something out of her control just like their mother did all those years ago.
