Pureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn: Halfblood

Physical Description: Antonia has a slim body, with slightly tanned skin and wide blue eyes. Her hair reaches just below her shoulders, and is black in colour. Despite the fact she is tall for her age, Antonia loathes her height and often slouches so she seems shorter, and by extension, more normal, if that word can be applied to her.
The first impression of Antonia could be that she is pretty and could be rather girly. However, Antonia does all she can to repel this impression by being as graceful as she can (which isn't very much) and trying her hardest to intimidate people with her appearance. To add to this, she wears dark wizarding robes even out of school uniform, to the extent her extended family has resorted to labelling her as a 'goth', much to Antonia's resentment and annoyance.
Antonia's face is sharp and soft at the same time. Her cheeks are smooth and round, contrast her sharp, light blue, or perhaps grey, eyes that dart around the room several times a second, searching for every minute detail possible. Antonia's skin is usually clear, apart from the occasion spot, but she is a teenager, and these things do pop up.
Personality Description: At first glance, Antonia Carbonell is a irritating, egoistic, smart alec of a kid who is far too clever, and doesn't know when to be quiet and listen to other people. Granted, parts of that are true, but Antonia has a tendency to surprise people with her actions. For example, Antonia tries her hardest to keep people away from her, since her father has taught her not to get close to anyone, because in Antonia's opinion, they'll use that as a weakness to use against her.
Antonia is insanely stubborn and highly determined just like her father, always doing what she thinks is right, or will benefit her, and sticking to it until the end, or more rarely, until she changes her mind. She's also ferociously independent, and would rather not do something at all than ask for help.
Antonia is also very clever, and very aware of that fact. However, while she seems egoistic, it is more of something that Antonia pretending to be than Antonia being herself. It is one of Antonia's many shields against everyone, including herself. Her intelligence isn't as much as it could plausibly be, but it's more than Antonia should be. She's also short-tempered, explosively so, and has been known to destroy anything she can when truly and utterly furious.
In a way, Antonia is loyal to the point of naivety. She has this sort of unwavering loyalty to those who manage to get past her multiple 'shields' against others, and her loyalty never wavers truly, unless they harm her, emotionally and physically, to the degree that Antonia can't bear to even think of them without some sort of anger or sadness.
History: Henry Carbonell and Marie Cesario met before the wizarding war, after Henry had been injured by an explosion in his home after one of his many experiments went wrong. Henry was an inventor, and was known to his friends and family to spend days on end just making plans, and then spending weeks on end perfecting them, before even attempting to build his invention. Marie was Italian, having had come over to England to get a job at St. Mungo's as a Healer, and was the Healer present at Artifact Accidents when Henry arrived at the ward. They met several times afterwards, when Marie had quit St. Mungo's due to the fact she was a Muggleborn to avoid being arrested by the Ministry of Magic, and ran away together in 1996, after Voldemort rose. Henry and Marie got married in April 1997, and less than a year later, Antonia was born.
Antonia was born in a tent in the middle of a field, on a rainy March night. Her mother barely survived the birth, despite Henry's best efforts, and Henry nearly collapsed after healing Marie. They named her Antonia after Henry's brother, Anthony, who was killed in the First Wizarding War. For the first three months of her life, Antonia lived in various houses, while her parents desperately tried to find their growing family a proper home, while Henry barely spent any time with his daughter or his wife. They finally succeeded in late 1998, and moved into a large mansion in London, using money from Henry's experiments to buy the house.
By the time Antonia was seven years old, Antonia's mother was trying to make Antonia into a 'proper little girl', regardless of her magic, when they discovered that Marie was unable to have any more children. This caused magic to be almost a forbidden subject with her mother, and since Antonia's father ignored her, Antonia nearly had a panic attack when she accidently turned one of her father's favourite cars into a small metallic hut. Henry was furious with her for ruining one of his favourite cars, and Marie was disappointed that Antonia seemed determined to be like her father and, at the same, not at all like him, after one of his many drunken ramblings, in which he had declared how disappointed he was with a daughter. At this stage, Antonia was nine years old, and could understand her father far too well.
When Antonia turned eleven, she received her letter from Hogwarts, and she was utterly delighted. It was getting harder for Antonia to hate her parents, especially her mother, when she was so polite and nice to her, but it wasn't difficult when her father entered the room, and congratulated Marie on her 'excellent sewing', had a brief conversation with Antonia's mother, completely ignoring her, just before saying a brief 'well done' to Antonia and leaving her alone. Even after a few months, Antonia is still furious at her parents for their reaction or, to be more specific, lack of it.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Although Antonia has a fiery temper and a stubborn mind, she possesses two of the most important traits for a Ravenclaw: a need to learn and a creative mind. These traits don't make her a perfect Ravenclaw, but they definitely aid her.
Writing Sample: It was the end of the summer holidays, and Antonia, both surprisingly and unsurprising, was annoyed. She wasn't sure whether this sort of behaviour was a family thing (she hoped otherwise) or whether it was just her mother being her mother, but Antonia had had enough. "I'm not sure if you just understood what I just said," Antonia repeated slowly, raising an eyebrow in her mother's direction, "But I'll repeat it this once. I got my letter from Hogwarts."
Her mother glanced up from the large armchair she was resting in, and Antonia shrugged, rolling her eyes. They were sat in one of the two parlours that the house possessed, and Antonia had in her hand her long-awaited letter from Hogwarts. "I did understand, Antonia. It was to be expected, naturally, so what else would be my reaction?" Antonia's mother spoke in a light Italian accent, one that Antonia had, thankfully, not picked up on.
Antonia hated her mother's accent, and had never concealed her loathing when her mother had, on one memorable occasion, tried to teach her to speak Italian. Everyone knew that despite Antonia's love of knowledge, she hated foreign languages. They had different grammatical rules, and it was all so confusing.
"I'm not sure, maybe a congratulations or something?" Antonia answered sarcastically, eyes narrowed at her mother, dropping onto a nearby chair. "Or is that too much to ask? Y'know, what with how busy you are, knitting and sewing and reading, instead of using magic?" Antonia continued, gesturing with her arms. The letter in her hand was almost forgotten as her father walked in, and Antonia was standing up in an instance.
"Oi, old man!" Antonia called out, barely stopping herself from running over to her father as she waved the letter in his direction. His eyebrows raised slightly, and a small smirk was visible on his face as he continued walking. "Are you going to pay attention to me or is today 'let's all ignore Antonia' day? Did I miss the letter or something?"
Her father was holding some sort of metallic wand, Antonia noticed as she quickly walked after him, nearly crashing into him when he stopped, turning towards her. "Yes, Antonia, I heard you received your letter. Now go and play dolls, or whatever it is girls your age do." Antonia took a sharp breath, wishing that her family wasn't this infuriating, especially now. Did her father have to be like this all the time?
"Aren't you a bit pleased? Delighted? Happy?" Antonia suggested, running a hand through her black hair, really wishing that she didn't have to pester her father just to get one simple reaction. And at the same time, her temper started rising, because Antonia had had enough of her father's often sexist views. But hell if she would ask him to stop it. Antonia was far too proud to even consider that more than one silly little thought.
Sum up your character in one paragraph: On the outside, Antonia is egoistic, selfish and a tiny bit clever. However, most of this, except for the clever part, is a part of the metaphorical walls Antonia has raised to stop herself from being hurt emotionally. In reality, she is vulnerable, scared, and practically pleading for attention and care, all due to the way her parents have treated her. However, very few see this side of Antonia, because, for her, that side of her that truly terrifies her.
