It was the hour before supper and the second week of the open Tarot Seminar
[1]. The room had gathered and, a few minutes after the hour, Eamonn closed the door and moved to the front of the room.
"I see there are a few new faces," he said. "Welcome. Last week I made the offer to give out decks to people who don't have their own cards or who would like to experiment with a different set. Please come up and get a deck to use for this session if you don't have one." A few people did this and he gave space for them to carefully choose a stack of cards from the round table at the front end of the room.
"We talked more generally about the Tarot last week, and some of us might have spent some time with our decks between then and now. No problem if some of us haven't. We'll do so now, and focus on handling the cards as we talk about decks and structure. So please, take out your decks and break into them. Any opening thoughts on card cutting
[2]?"
Eamonn went to his own desk and joined them in the activity as they got started.
