[Dec 12]Learning to Fall [Ezra] on December 04, 2012, 01:03:14 AM Elijah had spent the day thinking of several legitimate reasons not to meet with Ezra. Not the least of which because Eli didn’t fancy touching the remains of a long dead animal. He had done a bit of research (well… as much as he could without consulting the restricted section) and almost cried when he realized that people often used the wing bones of bats for the divining. He could just imagine poor little Vlad, future cut short so someone else could divine their own. It was sick, selfish, and disturbing and Eli didn’t think he was capable of following through with it. He had resigned himself to not going, he would simply stay in the dorms and… do something important. Maybe he’d pull out his telescope and do a bit of star charting; that always seemed to calm his nerves and help him sort his thoughts. When meeting time came, Eli found himself heading out of the Ravenclaw common room, clad completely in black, well… other than his Ravenclaw overrobe. It was drafty and cold in the halls; he didn’t want to catch a chill, at least not before the holidays. He was just going to tell Ezra that he had changed his mind and not waste his time anymore, at least that’s what he told himself. The Ravenclaw curse was striking again, and even though Eli was slightly distraught about the thought of bone casting, he simply couldn’t turn down the educatory purposes behind it. Hell, learning aside, Eli didn’t want to turn down another chance to hang out with the snake. He didn’t have an issue with Slytherins like some, but snake or not, Eli was pretty sure that Ezra’s current ladyfriend wouldn’t be appreciative of him spending quality time with a Ravenclaw boy. Not that anything had happened, even though Eli’s mind had raced through impossible scenarios all night and most of the day. Eli wasn’t into men, I mean… he didn’t think he was anyway, but Ezra kinda make Eli feel tingly and junk. With a slight blush on his face, Elijah pushed open the door to the empty classroom and walked inside. It had been easy to get here first and prep the empty classroom for what they were about to try. He'd had to go and fetch his bones from his altar in the dark of the night so no one would see him go and perhaps follow him. He had protective spells in place that would dissuade a curious student but they would be short work for a professor if they found it. Now all he needed was the Ravenclaw boy he'd offered to help in a fit of nostalgic kindness. Ezra rolled his eyes at himself. It wouldn't be a complete waste of his time, though. Not only would he have the opportunity to learn things about Elijah through the bones that the other boy would be unaware of, but he also might be able to get some of the boy's hair or something belonging to him. Those things were always useful for later, just in case. Not only that, but the hair of a boy named Elijah, after St. Elijah might have some interesting possibilities. The door opened and the pink-faced Ravenclaw edged inside. Ezra sat up and grinned. "Are you ok?" he asked cockily. "You look like you're going to melt in the floor." Wouldn’t it be just perfect if Ezra had been tricking him to get him caught out alone again so he could get his buddies to jump him and steal his shoes or something? Isn’t that what bullies did? Steal your shoes? Eli sure hoped not, he liked his shoes. He cursed himself silently for not wearing ugly boots or something before throwing an embarrassed smile on his face. “Of course I’m not going to melt. Actually, I’d say you’ll be the one melting like butter in my hands,” Elijah said with a wink. He pulled the door shut quietly behind him and approached the Slytherin boy, heart beating loudly in his chest. He shook his head slightly, tossing the fringes of his hair from his eyeballs, just to have them fall gently right back. He sighed and then took a seat on the floor, sitting cross-legged. “So, oh master, teach me,” He said, masking his nervousness with a bout of cockiness. He was kind of adorable, full of naive confidence in himself and Ezra would almost hate to see it go but take great pleasure in it none the less. "Master, eh?" he asked, lowering gracefully to the floor. "Careful or I might get used to having you defer to me like that." He winked and rolled out a mat of animal hide on the flagstones between them. It was old and soft with use, cut into a precise circle with an edging of abstract designs burned onto it. This mat and the bones that came with it were some his most prized possessions. They were older than he and Eli put together, handed down from witch to wizard as the skill and desire revealed themselves. "Tell me what you know about casting bones, " Ezra said. He needed to know where the other boy stood in terms of knowledge in order to move on in the most appropriate manner. It was so freaking hard to converse with the Slytherin, because he made everything seem so suave and erotic. The Ravenclaw boy just didn’t know how to deal with it, and was flailing with trying to mimic his graceful behavior. Eli simply wasn’t a sexual guy, and though he was trying his hardest, it was obvious that he was in way over his head when it came to messing with a guy like Ezra Inkwood. He snapped his mouth shut before drool could start spilling out and chose to ignore his reference to being his master, even though Eli was the one that had started it. Perhaps if he couldn’t stand the heat, he shouldn’t turn on the stove… or whatever that stupid saying was. It was probably in Eli’s best interest not to push the slithery snake too far, so he backed off.“Well, I don’t know much, to be honest,” He said, rubbing a hand along the back of his neck. “Information on the subject isn’t exactly bandied about around here, and whenever Aunt Rhia decides to do more obscure divinations, she always shuts me out and tells me to ‘go play’ like I’m some child.” Shut up, Elijah! Ezra didn’t want to hear him whine about his family troubles, if he wanted to talk about his family, he’d say so. Godric’s garters! “I know that you cast the bones within the circle and the shapes have meanings, much like the shapes in the bottom of a cup of tea. I’m not really sure about anything else,” He replied, shutting his mouth before he started rambling about annoying useless crap again. Skip to next post
