[May 10] Breakfast Bites [OPEN] on May 25, 2009, 07:00:18 PM eleven o'clock in the morningAhhh, Saturday mornings just smelt, felt and generally just were the best day of the week. Really. Saturdays were special days for Saffron Padmore. They were the day when she could let her hair down (figuratively, of course. Her hair was almost always actually down to start with.). Saturdays were the day Saffron slept in till ten, took ages getting ready and went down to breakfast in her pajamas and fuzzy cow slippers without makeup and the only thing she'd even done to get ready was a quick brush through her hair, a splash of water on her face and brushed teeth. Saturdays were the day Saffron didn't bother looking presentable until at least noon.Dazed and happy, she sat down at the Ravenclaw table alone. Megan and Ollie weren't there yet, she guessed, but neither did Saffron scan every single face in the Great Hall either. "What?!" she grumbled loudly, tossing food onto her plate. "Why do the pancakes smell funny?" Saffron cut the offending pancake into tiny bite-size pieces and held one of them up to her nose. The pancake piece did a strange thing then - it bit her right on her nose. With a startled, animalistic, earsplitting shriek, Saffron fell backwards off the bench and right onto her bum. So Olivia was going to enjoy the fact she was getting to sleep in, not that she didn’t try to do that on a regular basis. Olivia was terrible at waking up, because she had little drive to actually get to class. She had long ago accepted the fact that no matter how good she did in class or applied herself with her homework she was not going to get a good job out of it. Olivia felt that she should not stress herself out over something she had long ago accepted. Plus what Ollie wanted to do with her life did not require things like Potions and Herbology.Olivia had spent some time in her bed with a sketch book in hand, drawing her favourite character she had made up long ago. Lydia the teen witch werewolf who had crazy super hero like adventures in the comic strips she made up for the entertainment of her mother and friends. After a few failed attempts of getting her hair just right she tossed the sketch pad aside, her impatience showing again. At least she had more patience with drawing than when it came to her knitting.Leaping from bed and shoving her feet into a ratty pair of converse she didn’t even look to see the state of her bed head with her wild hair. She just pulled a hoodie on over her upper body the hood concealing the curls of hair that were probably tangled and needed a good comb through. From the Hufflepuff common room she skipped down the hall headed towards the Great Hall to part-take in breakfast and most importantly…bacon. “MMmm Bacon” she mumbled to herself so that only herself or someone near could hear. She was up the stairs into the Great Hall and searching for a place to sit. Normally she would find herself at the Hufflepuff table with her lovely friend Fauna, but she didn’t see Fauna and she was definitely a girl that Ollie would never miss. Fauna had gorgeous eyes, hair, and her clothing was outstanding. Ollie spotted one of her friends from Ravenclaw and made a b-line towards her only to witness her friend lurch back and fall to her bum.Laughter leaped from her lips as she tried to catch her breath walking towards Saffron. “Nice fall Saffron.” She laughed more as she sat down looking at her, “Nice cows.” She said before holding out her hand to help her friend up if she needed it. Skip to next post Re: [May 10] Breakfast Bites [OPEN] Reply #2 on May 30, 2009, 01:56:51 PM Saffron had been pouting to herself, glaring at her vicious pancakes and generally acting like a toddler when Olivia wandered over. Her be-hooded friend laughed loudly, echoed by just about everyone else who had witnessed the simply extraordinary event of Saffron screaming and falling on her bum after being bitten by a pancake. Saffron rubbed her sore nose. “Nice fall Saffron.” she said between spurts of laughter, sitting down on the wooden bench. Saffron rolled her eyes and gave a little laugh, though her cheeks had turned bright red and probably were doing a wicked imitation of a tomato. "Hi, Livvie," she grinned, "Here to rescue me?" "Nice cows," Ollie commented, offering a hand to Saffie. Saffie grabbed it gratefully, using the hand as leverage to get to her feet without falling. "Nice, er." She looked Ollie up and down, but failed to come up with a horribly wonderful quip to shoot back. Olivia looked as she always did, like she'd just gotten out of bed with a sort of grunge-y style Saffron felt looked horrible on herself and wicked lovely on Ollie. "Nice face?" she said weakly, offering a small smile. "Heh." She was glad, for once, that her cow slippers were mugglemade. Had they been magical, surely they would have been mooing with laughter at her. He had had to halt his investigation to get his homework caught up, he had been ignoring it for the most part since he had decided to take it upon himself to figure out what had really happeend at the Remembering Day celebration. Finally giving up the ghost at 2 AM he decided he would start again after a good rest and some breakfast. He had awoken later than he had planned to and as it was just a Saturday he decided to run a comb through his hair brush his teeth and wash his face. Still wearing his pajama's and a silk bath robe ( it's all he has ever used) he grabbed his wand and placed it in his pocket and headed down to the Great Hall.He noticed that there were less people here than usual and took a place by himself near the middle of the table and proceeded to pile his plate high with Bacon, Sausage, eggs and toast. He had just bitten into a piece of toast when he heard a scream behind him. He turned just in time to see a fellow choir participant fall on her rear. He watched as a 4th year Hufflepuff girl, one he didn't really know personally, helped her up. It was than he noticed the odd happenings on Saffron's plate, her pancakes were moving. This is odd, he thought to himself. He started to get up and investigate the odd pancakes when he noticed that the pankes at his own table were moving as well, not only had they started moving but they were munching on his notebook, the one that he had all of his notes about the Rememberding Day incident recorded in, he had no other copies. He immeditaly pulled out his wand and and with a slight panic in his voice said "STUPEFY" and watched as a red bolt hit the pancake and sent it across the table and into the wall where it smashed into the wall and proceeded to crumble apart. As it turned out this was a bit of a misteak, there were other pancakes on the table and he could tell that he now held all of their attention."This isn't going to be good, I hope I dont' have to cook meals for a week after this" he knew there would only be one conclusion to this, another food fight... with the food Skip to next post Re: [May 10] Breakfast Bites [OPEN] Reply #4 on June 03, 2009, 10:33:23 AM Orlaith wasn't completely horrid in the mornings, she just took a while to wake up. Unlike most people though she was nice enough to do her waking up in her dormitory so no one suffered her bad 'waking up' mood except those sharing with her. Being a slight perfectionist, Orlaith was definitely the sort of person who wouldn't let anyone outside her dormitory see her with a button out of place - so there was no arriving in the Great Hall, unwashed and in her jimjams, for this young lady please and thanks. She was dressed in a neat, pleated blue skirt, with a loose short-sleeve white blouse over the top. Her shoes were flat and stripy - blue and white of course and for accessories she had gone with her favourite small pearl studs and nothing more. The entire outfit was uncreased and as yet, unstained. Who knew that the status of her clothing was going to come under threat as soon as breakfast though? From the looks of things... only the pancakes were in the know. Not feeling overly social, Orlaith didn't go out of her way to greet Saffron as she passed her, even though Saffron was the person she knew most out of the people in the hall at that moment in time. The Ravenclaw was rather unremarkable, having never really caught Orlaith's eye for anything the entire four years they had attended Hogwarts. She wasn't the sort of company Orlaith would have seeked out in the morning, hence why Orlaith went to sit alone on the Slytherin table rather than anywhere near her. And thank Merlin for that, Orlaith would have felt rather out of place in the scene that followed...Now, the blonde hadn't seen the pancake bite Saffron's nose, only Saffron falling to the floor. From the looks of things it seemed to have been for no apparent reason too, as her friend that came to greet her showed no signs of shock or surprise. "Honestly..." was the unamused mutter that left Orlaith's lips whilst she watched the girl and not her food. Her food that was currently crawling towards her... well, technically the pancakes. HER food which had been teacakes and tea [big surprise] was sitting perfectly idle.Another surprise followed. The laughter between the two girls had died down but THEN another student took it upon himself to blast his pancake to death. "What the..." Orlaith gasped, rising to her feet and staring at the boy with bewilderment. She stood there for a while too, or so it seemed because the only reason she moved was to jump back from an unexpected gnawing sensation on her skirt. Of course bench plus jumping back could only result in one thing, Miss Dewar also falling flat on her bum. Unlike Saffron though, her head hitting against the floor didn't make her scream... it kind of made her cry a little. And yes, the Slytherin was still oblivious to the fact that moving food was at the centre of all these disasters. Skip to next post Re: [May 10] Breakfast Bites [OPEN] Reply #5 on June 19, 2009, 05:41:09 PM Mystique Ketteridge was all for the sleeping in on Saturdays. In fact, it was her favorite thing to do on Saturdays. And on the morning of Saturday, May tenth she woke up at ten-o-clock. With a huge yawn, Mysti sat up and stretched her arms out wide and twisting left and then right. With a few cracks of the back, she was satisfied enough to get out of her bed and stand up. From there, she made her way to the foot of her bed and pulled out some clothes before heading over to take a nice long shower. After her lovely shower, Mysti felt quite awake. She dried off and got into her clothes for the day, jeans and a blue top. She made her way back over to her bunk where she then put on her shoes, which were actually Muggle creations, called Converse. She didn't care that they were made by Muggles, as they were the most comfortable shoes she owned. Now sitting on her bed, she grabbed her brush and brushed out her hair, drying it as she did so. Feeling ready for some food, she decided to head down to the Great Hall.Once inside the Great Hall, Mysti started walking over to the Hufflepuff table, a few minutes after the incidents of Saffron, Michael, and Orlaith. As of yet, she had not noticed the attacking pancakes, or anything else out of the ordinary. She took a seat and started adding things to her plate, including a few of said pancakes. Starting out with a bite of eggs, she noticed nothing from the pancakes. But then, as she was attempting to cut a piece of the sausage, the pancake moved. Startled, Mysti dropped the silverware and stood up and tried stepping back. But of course, like the other girls, soon realized that there was a bench behind her. After falling back as the other two girls had, Mysti quickly was on her feet, examining the moving breakfast food. She then took a look around and finally noticed a blasted pancake and a couple other girls who seemed to have been taken by surprise by the food too. Not sure what to do, Mysti stood still for a moment, still observing the pancakes. Then she noticed some feeling on the toes of her right foot. Looking down, she saw a pancake nibbling on her Converse. She shook her foot, trying to get it off. But when she replaced her foot back on the ground, she had stepped on the pancake with a small "splat." Slightly grossed out, she stepped away from the squished thing and took another look around. A day of no more homework to receive, and just a general sense of fooling around and being with friends. Yes, that was why Meg enjoyed Saturdays. Plus, it was not as if she needed to be up for anything in particular, which meant that she could sleep in later. Sure, she was a Ravenclaw, but that did not mean that she had a book in front of her face every waking moment of her life. Surely, that wouldn't happen that often on a Saturday, since it was the weekend after all. The young fourth year that opted not to get dressed yet, deciding to stay in her tank top and pajama pants with a pair of slippers. She usually decided on the choice of simplicity over anything extravagant. After all, she had no one to impress anyway. She would simply get dressed in some clothes later, and it was rather nothing that big of a deal. Meg had woken up a few minutes before eleven, and decided to go eat her breakfast. She quickly brushed her teeth, and pulled her brunette hair into a loose ponytail. Thus, she proceeded to walk down to the Great Hall on the ground floor. Since there was nothing that she honestly needed to do, she took her daily time to actually reach the ground floor. Upon entering the room, Meg's eyes scanned the room. She spotted Mystique, a fellow fourth year, but a Hufflepuff and waved to her. Scanning a little bit more, she spotted Orlaith, a Slytherin that she talked to only a few days ago and waved to her as well. There was a Gryffindor in the room that she did not particularly know, so she just gave a nod of acknowledgement. She, then, spotted Saffron and Olivia by the Ravenclaw table. She had missed exactly why Saffie was on the floor, but she watched Ollie help her to her feet. "Hey Saffie, Ollie," she greeted both as she walked over. With a yawn, Meg sat down at the Ravenclaw table. As she did, the Gryffindor that she saw only a few seconds ago blasted a pancake with a spell that sent it against the wall. True, magic was odd at times, but that just seemed random to her. Trying to forget that she saw that, she placed some pancakes and sausages on her plate. Right when she finished, she noticed that Orlaith fell on the floor herself, but she was unable to notice what happened. She stood up, trying to see what happened. As she did so, Mystique fell as well, apparently from something from the pancakes. While her attention was on the other students in the Great Hall, the pancakes that she placed on her own plate started to attack her. The pancakes had managed to get on her arm without her noticing. One by one, they started to bite her. "Ah!" she exclaimed, trying to brush them off of her. outfit Skip to next post Re: [May 10] Breakfast Bites [OPEN] Reply #7 on June 26, 2009, 06:26:08 PM When Mysti was looking around the Great Hall, she saw her friend Megan. Leaving the Hufflepuff table, Mysti made her way over to Meg. She had to be careful to avoid being munched on by any more pancakes, as they seemed to be taking over the whole hall. It seemed almost like a war zone. Students were now trying their best to defeat the attacking pancakes, but it wasn't working too well. Some students had now run from the hall, but some were staying, trying to keep the food from going any further. It also seemed as though some students were oblivious to the food trying to eat you."Meg! And hi, Saffron and Olivia." Mysti said when she finally got to the Ravenclaw table where her friend was. "What should we do? The pancakes are taking over!"Mysti had pulled her wand out of her pocket by now, and was ready to beat back any other attackers. She kept looking from the other girls to the pancakes. What was really frightening was that the pancakes seemed to be multiplying. Where were the teachers when you needed them?
