Physical Description:
Steel-gray eyes, a square face, and tanned skin. Her blonde hair is just long enough to pull back into a ponytail, and tends not to recieve must attention beyond that. While it's starting to fade with less time in the field, her build is still relatively muscular. She's of about an average height, standing 5'5" tall.
Personality Description:
In school, Admete was often called "bubbly", for her energy, something she seemed to supplement with an ability to sleep through anything. At this age, energetic is the more usual term.
Demanding, stubborn, and pig-headed are also terms used for her. She's a woman who expects quite a bit of her underlings, and is perfectly willing to make such known. There's a story floating about the office regarding one unfortunate Auror (well, usually an Auror), who contacted Admete while she was on vacation regarding a relatively minor matter. Admete's note back was said to consist merely of the phrase "fix this yourself if you want to keep your job". However, she expects said employees to not merely exceed in their jobs, and has also been known to push them into taking a bit of time off if she thinks it's needed.
While it's less evident now that she spends less time in the field, Admete can, and has been quite brave, something which tends to extend into foolhardiness much less in recent years. But if she thinks something needs to be said, she's most certainly the one to say it. Assuming it's in her area of expertise. In areas where she doesn't view herself as having the relevant knowledge to comment, she tends to be more observant until she views herself as having learned enough to properly evaluate the situation.
Outside of work, she tends to be much more relaxed. Her main hobbies are painting, dueling, and experimenting with potions. She also has a pair of Jobberknolls, of which she's quite fond.
Given how little she's had general contact with muggles, Admete tends to be a traditionalist witch, though certainly not a malicious or purist one.
History:
Admete's father is an alchemist, and her mother owned, and still owns, a small shop in Diagon alley which specializes in exotic birds. Their daughter was their only child, and while she was not quite spoiled, she received a great deal of love and affection growing up.
In 1977 she started at Hogwarts, being sorted in Gryffindor. Her outspoken nature while the First Wizarding War still raged brought her into conflict with some of her classmates, though this faded over time given both the conclusion of the war in 1981 and Admete's developing skill at dueling, where she proved particularly adept at defensive magic. Much of her defiance at this point could be more traced to irritation and a touch of childish rebellion, though eventually
Upon graduating in 1984 with NEWTs in DaDA, Charms, Transfiguration, Potions, and Herbology, along with a scraped by NEWT in History of Magic, or as Admete called it then "the nap class". She then applied for and was accepted into Auror training.
Hunting down and catching dark wizards and former Death Eaters proved highly appealing work, and Admete did quite well with it, though she still has a few scars from young and overenthusiastic pursuits of such. When the Second War begin to rear its head, she threw herself into her work.
This headstrong devotion led to her being injured shortly before the Ministry was overtaken, and Admete was recovering at St. Mungo's when the coup itself happened. With her unwilling to return to the Ministry given its current state, Admete obtained the aid of one of the healers in framing her wounds as too severe for her to return to work, and instead turned to recuperating, occasionally helping her mother with her shop, and sneaking aid to those devastated by the new Ministry when she could.
When the Battle of Hogwarts occurred, she went to fight, and managed to come out of it alive, though not unscathed. Afterwards, she returned to the Auror office, but her injuries kept her on lighter duty for a while.
As part of this, she began to handle some liaison duties both with other portions of the DoMLE, and with other sections of the Ministry regarding Auror cases. While she hadn't expected such to be anything more than an irritating diversion, it soon proved that her direct and yet respectful approach made her rather effective at it.
Thus she began taking on more and more of such work as a major portion of her responsibilities. One position on a committee intended to facilitate better cooperation between the Aurors. Hit Wizards, and Magical Law Enforcement Patrol soon led to positions, sometimes ones of leadership, on other committees within the Ministry. Some of these focused on intra-department concerns, allowing Admete to work with and learn much more of the other subsections of Level 2, while others among them focused on inter-department cooperation and allowed for her to build ties there as well.
She also continued with general liaison work relating to cases, including work on several weighty cases dealing with the fallout of the Second War. While she also remained involved in general Auror duties, field work became less a part of her general workload as time continued. Because of this, she began to attend to her dueling interests a bit more outside of work as well. Over this decade, she also obtained the rank of Senior Auror for her service.
Recently, her liaison work has involved more interaction with the Werewolf Wing of the Magical Creatures Department, given the recent incidents involving Werewolves. This has led her to push for increased training regarding dealing with werewolf situations both for the Aurors and other law enforcement forces.
Describe your job duties and how you go about them:
As the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Admete will be responsible supervising for a vast array of sub-departments focused around enforcing laws involving everything from Animagi to cursed teapots. She is also responsible for overseeing and maintaining the investigations and training of such groups as the Auror office and Hit Wizards, along with the general staff and administrative work involved with such a position. Reaching out to newer or potential members of the Department, the "future" of it, will likely be a particular focus for her.
Given the status of Level 2, and the close cooperation it often entails with other departments, working with the other departments of the Ministry and ensuring that such cooperation goes as smoothly as possible is also a major part of her work. Admete intends to utilize her previous contacts within the Ministry to help facilitate such, along with an emphasis on taking advantage the expertise of others on relevant cases and also using such in training to better prepare law enforcement for such similar situations in the future.
With various recent disasters and incidents, Admete will also need to present the DoMLE in such a fashion so as to ensure that the Wizarding world is reassured about their effectiveness regarding numerous types of crime. This may involve an increased focus on specific high-profile cases, along with ensuring that smaller issues are effectively addressed in a prompt manner.
Elaborate on your expertise in your field:
Amete has worked in the Auror office of Magical Law Enforcement for over 20 years, and achieved the rank of Senior Auror, something which others in the Ministry can use present her as a strong force on security and a relatively apolitical choice for the position. She's also enough of a moderate regarding her work to be an acceptable choice for numerous types of Ministry officials who may be involved in her selection for the position.
While her early service was focused more on general enforcement, over the last decade Admete has become highly involved in inter and intra department cooperation, both through liaison duties for the Auror Office and through committee positions related to such forms of cooperation, including some positions of leadership on said committees. Because of such, she's worked heavily with other portions of DoMLE as well as other sections of the Ministry on several weighty cases. Thru this she has gained a selection of valuable knowledge of the other sections of the department, as well as a greater understanding of how they interact and work with other parts of the Ministry. This cooperation would also have brought her work and expertise into contact with many Ministry officials, making her a somewhat familiar face to many of those she would be interacting with in her new position.

Sum up your character in one paragraph:
Admete is an experienced sort in law enforcement, having reached the rank of Senior Auror before coming to her current position. She tends to make her expectations of others clear and is known for being a bit on the blunt side, though such doesn't tend to come out until she considers herself to be knowledgeable on a topic. She can be a bit of a traditionalist, but doesn't usually poke her head into politics. Over the last decade, much of her work has involved interacting with other sections of Level 2 along with the rest of the Ministry via liaison duties as well as related committees, and thus she's gained helpful knowledge both of all of her department as well as its interactions with others. In her free time, she's fond of painting, dueling, experimenting with potions, and caring for her pet Jobberknolls.
