[November 26]Snargaluff (OPEN)

on November 25, 2012, 04:15:28 PM

(Okay,so I'm not a 100% sure if I'm in the good place to start a RP tread, but I'll do it annyway. Its my first one so I dont know if it will be good or not. Hope you'll enjoy)

While other students were playing and talking around the school grounds,Clément went alone in the greenhouses to pass the time with his Special gardening kit he love so much and a garden robe so his school uniform wont be covered in dirt. "Finaly, the Greenhouses...its so beautyfull" He said, taking a big breath, smeling the delicious perfume of ground and chlorophyle. "What can I do now" He wondered, looking all around at the flowers who tryed to catch some bugs flying around.

As he walked to the work table,he saw a strange plant he didnt recognize at first size. It looked like...a tree stump. And a big one, with a deep hole it it. Thats what he was able to see from where he was. "Oh my, is that a Snargaluff? I've only been able to see them in books. I wonder if there is pods inside...lets see then". As he came closer to the stump to look in the cavity, vines covered in thorns came out in a flash, whiping the air, trying to catch and scratch the imprudent one who came too close from it. "Aah! Maybe I should put my gloves." He said. Clément took out of a bag a pair of gloves made of comon green welsh skin,a pair of glasses to keep his eyes from danger and a mouth protector. He came back to the Snargaluff and catch the vines with his hand. At the same time,a hole open up on the stump, showing the grapefruit size pods. He then quickly put his arms to the elbow and grope on one of the pods. "Maybe I'll need some help" he said to himself.

One would think that, given the nature of a greenhouse someone with light sensitivity such as Ligeia wouldn't fancy such a place. Well Ligeia was known to engage in affairs in far sunnier locations than she should with her preventive means. And it was raining so the dark clouds weeping over the land blocked out the sun.[1]

The greenhouses were one of her favorite locations, though you would more commonly find her in the depths of the Potions dungeons. The greenhouse at the Canterbury Estate had been in disarray for quite some time. Planned disarray, mind you, but the greenhouses at school were much more varied in variety.

Joining Ligeia under her parasol was a small pot filled with a variety of orange and brown fungus that looked like a bunch of noses popping out of the soil. She was returning the pot and on the lookout for fresh ingredients for her Most Important Brew at work in her private lab space.

Upon entering the greenhouse she found a Frenchman (or perhaps a French Canadian given what she took for hockey gear) having his arm devoured by a stump. Which simply would not do.

"The poor thing," she said, setting down the fungus and leaving her parasol over it. She crossed to the Beauxbatons student being accosted by Snargaluff vines. "You mustn't give it any more grief, monsieur, Durmstrang wrecked it hard enough during their segment of the Task."

According to her source, the Snargaluff and a few other plants used in the Tournament had been used had been reclaimed to this greenhouse after the task was over.[2]

"I have to what. H-Hold on a second..." he said taking his wand out of his pocket with his avaible arm. It was sculpted in a verry artistic was, with swirls and vines on it. "Fletrissimo!" a flash of greyish green light erupt from the wand and blast the Snargaluff. Under the surprising shock of the spell,it spit out Clément left arm,and the hole closed up,leaving no acces for its pods. Hopefully, his arm was not armed, same from hisndragon skin gloves.

When he turned to his right,he looked again to the tall girl with a "questioning" facial expression. "Who...Who are you?" he asked with a soft voice. "i believe we...never met before...that must be beacause I'm always alone or something. What did you said before I stun that stump? I...I didnt eared you clearly beacause of the plant noise" he said while puting his mouth potector on the table, taking out a secator and moving to a floating prunes bush.

"Oh do be careful." Had she been a lesser woman Ligeia might have have slapped him but the Snargaluff was doing a fine job. Though she didn't recognize the spell he used on the stump. As he removed himself she crossed to the stump as it withdrew its defenses. She reached out for a nearby sack of fertilizer and applied a soothing scoopful to the stump.

Ligeia contemplated the French student. Clearly he was not nuanced in English, having accented odd pauses and grammatical usage. "You might want to remove that mouth guard." She gestured around her own face. "You'll be easier to understand." Thankfully he did so.

"I've seen you, mounseiur, in Herbology and other classes. Though you are the quiet type not to mingle."[1] "That was a stunning spell? I've never heard one like that before. But shouldn't a lady first know who the man is that his asking her name?"

Her mouth edged into the shape of a smile, of not one of her usual ones.

"Dont worry for it,they can become caapricious when you take care of it too much. Well thats what happenes to my sisters. They are twins. They had a Snargaluff and were taking too much care of it,he started to act like a spoiled child...but well, maybe its not like that for all of them." he explained calmly, always with the same soft voice, looking all around. He wasnt sure if he should make eye contact with her.

"yes, you may have seen me there. Herbology is mybfavorite class with care of magical creatures, potions and charms. Every time I have time tomspend,I come here taking care of plants or I go in...the bibliothèque." he answered to what she said, but now,he was moving to a pot filled with strange mushrooms he pressed to extract a skin colored creamy secretion he pour in glass jars. "I dont....talk to people verry much. Plants and books are my only friends. They can't hurt you, unlike people. And anyway....I'm not interesting enough to have people wanting to be my friens." those words were on a tone of voice even softer, like a whispee...like he was going to cry.

With his shoulder,he wipe his face. Maybe there was a tears or just dirt. He then turn to her with two filled jars with the mushrooms cream. "And about that spell, yes its some sort of a stuning spell, but specially made for agressives plants. It comes from the french verbe "Flétrire",wich is when a plant start tomdie. But this spell doesnt hurt them,it just put them in a phase of calm and tranquility, like a magic sedativ for plants. On the human body, the spell make the touched body part look like it aged to a old person aspect, and make this body part weak..." he tried to make those explanations clear as possible, but wasnt sure she understanded with his outrageous accent.

"as for who I am...wich is not really important...M-My name is Clément. Clément Seguin,I'm a Beauxbâtons student. Can I know now who you are?"

It was odd how those twinges began but the tendrils crept through to Ligeia's heart as she started to take more of an interest in the French boy. It sounded like he had very sensible twin sisters, though she would hardly call letting a Snargaluff recuperate from being a tournament obstacle 'spoiling' it.

But there was something about this Clément Seguin, about his timidity and pathetic self consciousness. It made her think of Zel Trumble, but her fellow albino pulled off the desperate package much better with his ghaunted appearance (a word which here means gaunt and haunted; a word Ligeia was thinking of submitting to official lexicons) and curse of lycanthropy. Clément had some of those qualities but appeared more cuddly like a teddy bear stripped of its fur after being out in the rain, or a bloated slug. It made Ligeia pine for the days she was a younger girl with said stuffed animals joining her in bed.

"Your spell sounds fascinating," she said with tones like liquid moonlight. "We rarely learn of foreign spells here. I'm told Salem is nearly as innovative, and Durmstrang studies more forbidden subjects. That stunner temporarily ages and weakens a human where they are struck?" Her lips could not spread further to reveal the wide 'New Knowledge' smile of hers.

"Since I know you are a gentleman I am revealing this with strict confidence. I am Polly Esther Ligeia Canterbury, but you can address me as Ligeia." She curtsied.

He had a little subtle smile. Someone was interested in what he was saying...its nice to feel that people like what you can learn them. ''Well...its nice to meet you...Ligeia. Are you also a plant amator? I have a book or two in my dormitory that I could maybe...borrow you if you want. They are pretty interesting.'' He explained while taking the bottles. Unfortunatly, one of them falled down to the ground and broke, sending the mushroom cream a bit everywhere. ''Damn it!'' He said. ''Gosh,I'm so clumsy sometimes.'' And with a flick of his wand, the creamy secretions from the jars flew up in the air and lend carefully in a pot. ''Reparo!'' He said, spining his wand in a circular movement, following the correct clock fonctionement, and the broken jar was perfectly repaired. Not a single scratch.

''I'm really sorry. Do you have some on your dress?'' He asked her, feeling really embarassed. He just spilled mushroom juice on the only persone who talked to him in ages.

"Some plants. I don't take a plant to heart unless it pricks me."  After her potions lab at home, Ligeia was most commonly in the greenhouse at the back of the house. A muggleborn friend of hers that once visited said not even a 'weed-hacker' would be able to get through the tangled growth kept under the chipped stained glass.

"Oh, don't concern yourself with it," Ligeia said as she examined the splattered hem of her dress. "I rather like the effect. If I wanted to bleach it I have my color draining solution. Patent Pending." A soft sound like a laughing cough escaped her lips. "Well, not really, its no where near close to ready yet and I haven't thought of registering it. I'm still not sure if it's all that useful."

"Well....you see, I'm pretty good with potions too. I learned to do great potions with basical plants and herbs. Maybe.....I could help you." he said, but timidity was again fusing with his voice. He felt like it would be too much, like he would be invasive, thats why he wasnt sure he should have asked her if she wanted help.

"I'm not saying your not good enough to do it alone or annything!" he said nervously. "Its just that I'm pretty good, so it might be helpfull...Not that I think I'm the best or annything like that!" the nervosity was geting higher so he decided to shut it and geting back to work, as he took murlaps Stalk and put them in a bowl of calmfully boiling water to extract the incense. "Murlaps incense helps to recover from wounds....and it make you feel a little stingy sensation, but a pleasing one. Like you feel that your wound is healing....or when you put some mint lipsil on your dry lips".

As they conversed Ligeia found that she had more in common with Clément than she first thought. "You are very informed of potions," she said as he described murtlap essence and other remedies. "Did you have any interests to become a healer? I've been interning at our hospital, St. Mungo's, over the summer."

"It's where I first struck on the idea for the Color Draining solution." She wiped excess dirt away from the nostril shaped fungus she had brought in. "We had a patient turn whiter than soap."
