General Information:

The Yule Ball is a tradition of the Triwizard Tournament, adapted for the Tetrawizard Tournament hosted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The ball is officially opened by the Champion's Dance, followed by a formal ball for all who wish to attend. Contrary to tradition, the Yule Ball of 2009 will allow all students to attend, as well as prominent figures of the magical community. The Yule Ball is designed to help promote international magical cooperation through friendship and fellowship, even in times of stress and strife.

Schedule of Events:

6:30 - 7:00 p.m.	Arrival	the arrival of esteemed guests to Hogwarts, as well as the time to rendezvous with dates before dinner
7:00 - 8:00 p.m.	Dinner	The formal dinner in the Great Hall. Menus with dishes from all areas of the globe sit upon the tables for attendees to order from.
8:00 - 8:30 p.m.	Champion's Dance and Opening Remarks	Champions from all four schools open the ball with their escorts, immediately followed by opening remarks by the host school's head.
8:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.	Ball	The actual Yule Ball. Students may dance within the Great Hall or mingle in the Entrance Courtyard.
12:00 - 12:30 a.m.	Closing	Esteemed visitors are escorted from the premises and students are rushed to bed to prepare for winter break the following morning.

Entertainment will be provided by the Wild Beings from 8:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m.

• To reduce confusion, time stamp your threads. Either post the time in the thread title (as you would a date) or in the first post of the thread, that way everyone has an idea about what time things are happening.
• With plot events that effect the entire ball (such as setting the courtyard on fire or kidnapping a student), be mindful of other members who may only want to enjoy their ball.
• Be sure to post a location within the first post of your thread as well. As our board isn't located within the main Hogwarts RP boards, it's a bit confusing to know where everything's taking place.
• Feel free to start your own threads! The set-up is a bit different from most group threads, and we're hoping this will allow for more freedom. Have a thread with meeting your date in the entrance hall, or a thread during dinner. Maybe some snogging in the entrance courtyard. Have fun!
