Wand:Jasper’s wand is made of poplar wood, seven ½ inches, pliable with dragon heartstring core and a decorated shaft purchased from Ollivander’s when Jasper was ten (due to being born so late, he received his Hogwarts letter shortly before he actually turned eleven).

Physical Description:Weighing in at 137 pounds and with a height of 5”6, Jasper Cody Quinn isn’t the shortest or tallest guy in his year. His muscles are toned from Quidditch and his skin is lightly tanned, almost an olive skin tone. Jasper has green eyes, which sometimes appear to look blue depending on his clothes but usually look just a light green. His hair is a muddy, plain brown and he doesn’t style it anything special. Rather, his ‘just a bit too long’ bangs dangle awkwardly just above his eyes.

Outwardly confident and self-assured, Jasper carries himself with a certain swagger. Though he often dresses in simply whatever clean clothes he sees first, Jasper does take care to make himself at least presentable. He usually wears a t-shirt and jeans, and sometimes a cloak over it if it's cold or breezy out.

Personality Description: While he’s not exactly a people person, Jasper isn’t afraid of speaking his mind, either. Jasper is being tutored in Potions, although he excels in his other classes. He tends to adapt himself to the situation- with some people, he’s quiet and sensitive, with others he’s loud and boisterous. He doesn’t trust very easily and is cynical of a lot of things. Jasper doesn’t let people in easily, but he hangs out with a lot of people anyway because he doesn’t like being alone. As a result, he has a lot of friends but not a lot of best friends.

Jasper is somewhat idealistic, and wishes he could make a positive impact on the world. He hasn’t a clue how, though, so that dream remains unrealized for now, although he does aim high and is rather ambitious. He often uses complicated, big words in his everyday speech and is somewhat arrogant. He’s a nice enough guy to close friends, but he can sarcastic, irritating, nasty and downright mean if he doesn’t like someone. His temper isn’t terribly quick, but neither is it terribly long and – depending on the offense – he can easily carry on a grudge for the rest of his life.  He’s somewhat haughty as well. Jasper isn’t as confident and sure of himself as he appears – but he doesn’t like letting people know he’s not. He is pretty trustworthy and dependable. He doesn’t like people telling him he’s wrong and can be very harsh in telling them why he’s not wrong. Jasper always seems to carry a smug air about him and he’s very energetic, always moving. He hates failure and he always feels pressured to do his best.

Jasper doesn’t like bigots or hypocrisy. Shallow people irritate him immensely, though Jasper could easily be accused of superficiality by people who don’t know him well. Jasper is very smart – and he knows it. When Jasper falls in love (or even just a crush, really, though it’s more toned down when it’s a crush), he will do anything to keep the other person happy, even if it means pandering to their every wish, mainly because Jasper wants a “perfect” relationship and will do anything to keep the other person happy and pleased with him. It’s probably a relic of the pain he went through between his mum and his dad. Fairly dramatic, Jasper exaggerates a bit about everything unless it’s incredibly serious or he’s really upset. He enjoys acting as well.
He is a musician and he has been playing the piano since he was four and the violin since he was six. Around the time he was ten, he started playing the trumpet and has been trying to play the acoustic guitar since around his twelfth birthday.  Although originally he was taught the piano by his father, Lukas, Jasper cares too much about music now to give it up even though it’s yet another link to Lukas.

History:The story begins at 4:26AM on August 12th, 1991. It was then that Jasper Cody Quinn, son of Kayla Adams and Lukas Quinn, came into the world. His earliest years were loving and peaceful, but the trouble began around the time Jasper turned four. His father had never really been around much, but Jasper had accepted it as normal, but now his parents began fighting. He grew quiet and withdrawn, living for the moments when his dad smiled at him or took him to play at the park. But those moments were few and far in between. When he was five, Jasper became convinced it was something he had done that made his parents fight so much and he struggled for Lukas’s acceptance. He had rarely seen any of his parents’ relatives, seeing as Jasper had been born out of wedlock and was thus “illegimate” in the eyes of his pureblood relatives. Kayla and Lukas were all the family he had. Desperate, he finally managed to get his dad to spend an hour each Tuesday night teaching him how to play the piano.

He cherished the little time nobody was fighting, but it seemed he saw Lukas less and less and one day, Jasper’s mum told him to pack up his stuff and they just left, just like that. Things didn’t get that much easier very quickly. Kayla took him to her parents’ estate and there was a long hushed fight behind doors. In the end, Jasper was left to stay with Kayla’s parents – his grandparents – for three months while Kayla settled some of her debts and went to vocational training. At the end of it all, she picked Jasper up and they went to live in a house in Swindon, England. Jasper continued learning the piano, and Kayla tried to give him a regular schedule. He soon started with a tutor and began playing the violin at six.

Jasper and Kayla were pretty close, and although there were times when they lived on the monthly payments Lukas sent, Jasper never went hungry. He was a normal kid, although he saw less and less of his mother as he got older and she worked more and more. Each year, he saw his father on Remembrance Day, and it usually ended in a fight between Kayla and Lukas. Around Jasper’s tenth birthday, he started taking trumpet lessons and a year later, he started Hogwarts. He was sorted into Slytherin and spent the next five years avoiding his dad’s letters, having fun and just being himself.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?:Jasper fits into his house because he is very ambitious and aims high in everything he does. He is intelligent and manipulative enough to get to the ends he wants no matter the means and although it is not as important in this day and age, Jasper is a pureblood, meaning he wouldn’t be ashamed to show his face in Slytherin. He is arrogant and somewhat condescending.

Writing Sample:
Today, Jasper decided, was not really a good day. There was just way too many things going on! First classes, then homework - hours of homework, and yeah, maybe he didn't have to do that essay due in two weeks today but he just couldn't focus if he had to worry about possibly procrastinating - but that was all over for now. Now, Jasper had Quidditch practice, too. Not that - he pondered as he hastily undressed - Quidditch was a bad thing. It was very fun, enjoyable, and most of the time, it was a lot of fun.

But sometimes, merlin, Quidditch was a lot sometimes. Jasper yanked his shirt on and grabbed his broom. It wasn't the very newest - but neither was the hand-crafted broom very old either. He shivered as the fresh winter air rushed into his face.

"Hey, Jasper!" called a voice and he looked up, startled. "Jasper, get up here already!" He shook his head to clear it.

"Y-yeah!" Jasper called, his words catching in his throat for a moment. He hopped onto his broom as quickly as he could manage and shot up into the air. "Okay, okay! Let's play Quidditch!" he grinned. As stressed out as he was today, there was nothing like the wind whipping around you as you defied gravity, like flying. Jasper would have been happy just simply flying - but flying with a sport, too, was so much better!

"Jasper!" the captain called, "C'mon, focus now! Alright, people, Slytherins," she announced, "We've gotta run some drills now. Jasper - center Chaser..." she listed the others in their spots, but he was no longer paying attention as he zoomed up to assume the proper place. The seeker tossed him the Quaffle and Jasper grinned.

"Thanks, mate!" The captain shot him an annoyed look and he rolled his eyes good-naturedly. Jasper didn't look at the Keeper at all, whizzing by in a zig-zag pattern before throwing the Quaffle as hard as he could into the goal. The Keeper rushed to it just a moment too late and he grinned, twirling in the air.

This was why he loved Quidditch. The feeling of success, pleasure and sweat all mixed into the topsy-turvy world of flight. Just perfect.

[How Has Your Past Prepared You For This Honor?:]
“My past has certainly prepared me for the honor of being Head Boy. In my fifth year, I became the male Slytherin prefect as I have always exemplified the traits of my house: ambition, cunning, determination and resourcefulness. Over the years, I have come to understand and personify some traits of the other Houses as well such as intelligence, cleverness, loyalty, hard work and dedication. By having come to understand the Houses besides my own, I feel that I could be an effective Head Boy.

In addition to these traits, I have always been trustworthy and dependable and I have rarely been in trouble in all my years at Hogwarts. As I’m sure all of my teachers can tell you, I am an dutiful and diligent student. I work hard in all my classes – and would work hard in Head Boy duties as well – and have a record of academic excellence. If you’ll recall my OWLs, you’ll see I received five Outstandings, two Excellents, and one Acceptable (in my weakest subject, which I am currently being tutored for and will hopefully improve in.)

I have always been involved with the student body as well. I am a member of the Hogwarts Players and have been since my second year. I joined the Orchestra and Choir in my first year. In addition, I have been a Chaser on the Slytherin Quidditch team since my third year. Being on an athletic team has also taught me to work as a team and to take charge when necessary. I believe that my past has fully prepared me for the honor of being Head Boy here at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.”

[What Do You Think the Most Important Aspect of This Job Is:?
“The most important aspect of the job? I’d have to say that would be image. Most of the younger ones – fourth year and below, I’d say – look up to the upperclassmen such as myself. As Head Boy, I’d be an especially prominent role model to them because unless they have siblings or something, I’d find it unlikely for any First Years to have any sort of contact with a Seventh Year. Being a positive, older influence (that’s not a professor, because children are fickle like that and would probably do the opposite of what a professor told them to do)would be helpful in the long run because they would likely try and follow the rules if they thought older students like myself were doing so. Through that, they would grow up and develop well and be productive members of society. So, you see, that is clearly the most important aspect of being Head Boy.”

[Tell a Story From Your Past That Has Proven Your Mettle:] “A story which proves my mettle would probably be the events that occurred early in my sixth year. It isn’t very much, but I was studying in the library on an afternoon when there were only a few first years besides me. The librarian, having an apparent necessity to go use the loo, asked me to keep watch over them while she left. You see, that was the day the plumbing was having issues and the fourth floor bathrooms weren’t working at all. And the librarian knew me pretty well – I’ve been in the library almost daily since first year – and that she could trust me with all the precious books for half an hour. Of course, first years being first years, the task to watch over them wasn’t as easy as it appeared. At first, I was just watching them out of the corner of my eye when apparently they began practicing spells and one of them happened to be a little less book friendly than they probably intended. One of the ickle firsties had managed to shoot a puff of fire out his wand. It wasn’t much, wouldn’t have done much damage…except for taking place in a highly flammable book infested library.

So, quite gallantly I think, I sprinted over to the first years and quickly spelled that fire away. After explaining to them about a little thing called common sense, they nodded and resumed studying out of their books and not with their wands. And the librarian was very much pleased with me when she came back, so I thought I did some good. No books went up in flames, nobody got hurt, but I kept calm and managed to control the situation and that’s…what matters, I believe. And that’s a story from my past that proves my mettle. Thank you.”
