[Dec 16th] May your days be merry and bright

on November 01, 2012, 07:35:18 PM

Shortly after dinner!

The gifts were neatly sitting nearby, untouched and unsoiled from the various individuals of the lavatory. Myrtle was ghost pacing back and forth, nervously waiting for Ligeia to show up. Thanks to Nancy's brain boost, the spirit of Christmas had clearly been reborn in the ghostly witch. She was humming quietly the very song[1] that reminded her of home. True, it was more than bittersweet than anything but if it made Myrtle less moaning and more chipper, then what could it hurt, right?

She floated away from the gift to look outside of the lavatory once again. No Ligeia. She hadn't forgotten, had she? Or worse, that she may have finally bothered the young witch too much that Ligeia no longer wanted to be around Myrtle? Hopefully not, because that would only make the gift go unwanted. "Oh, Ligeia, where are youuuuuuuuuuuuu?" she said sadly, the glimmer in her eye fading slightly as the negative began to settle back inside once more. Drat, drat, drat!

"Dear Myrtle?" Ligeia called out into the echoing bathroom where there was always a faucet dripping. Having one last taste of the gravy at dinner had caused her to be late, missing Myrtle float back into her bathroom when the almost as ghostly white Ravenclaw prefect turned the hall.

"Helena said you wanted to see me." She said the Grey Lady by name, her house ghost. Catching sight of the dead student she smiled. "There you are. You seem in high spirits tonight."

[1]Myrtle grinned when hearing Ligeia's voice, soon floating to meet her halfway. The mentioning of high spirits caused her to nod most eagerly in agreement. "Mhm! It is almost Christmas, isn't it? I forgot how much I looooooooved the holiday. You should thank Nancy for that. She helped me remember," Myrtle cooed in a bouncy tone, floating closer to Ligeia's frame.

"I .... I got you something for Christmas. Well, a few somethings. I hope you like it?"

"Oh, you and Nancy are speaking more? That's good." The dead usually found they had more in common with other dead people and Myrtle so infamously avoided others by haunting her bathroom.

"What a pleasant surprise, Merry (early) Christmas!" Ligeia smiled in the dim light. She selected the first box. "I love this tag," she said of the lacy tag. She unwrapped the white ribbon over black paper, opening the box to reveal a necklace with ivory carving on the pendant. "Very exquisite. What should I open next?"
