Originally through RPG-DIf you have written other characters here, list them all: Mairead ó FearghailFull Character Name: Cináed Ailean TawseCharacter Birthday & Age: May 24, 1981 - 26 (just about to turn 27)City & Country of Birth: Montrose, ScotlandPureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn?: PurebloodAlma Mater: Hogwarts; SlytherinOccupation Owner of the Black Chimeara - a small, dark, hole-in-the-wall inn and pub down Knockturn Alley. While the "inn" boasts five rooms of questionable quality, the pub has a wide variety of strong, unique and sometimes experimental drinks. There is a second "members only" lounge and sitting room where known members of the Wizarding Blood Alliance (WBA) can meet, socialize, boast or plot. Type of Criminal: Released convict, rumored organizer and instigator in the WBAAllegiances / Loyalties / Political Faction: His loyalties are, no question, primarily to the WBA. Only, perhaps, to himself is he more loyal. He's devoted to the group and the cause but, with the clear lack of leadership, would never play the role of simple sacrificial lamb to the group. Previous Convictions or Crimes?: Yes If yes, please explain. Though less open about his alliances to the Death Eaters during his days at school, especially when compared with the - as he sees it - blind allegiances that the likes of Draco Malfoy and others demonstrated, as a sixth year, Cináed joined the Death Eaters in the Battle of Hogwarts. He was arrested following the siege and charged with sedition, treason, assault and murder. Cináed was a minor at the time of the battle and, therefore, the Wizengemot opted to drop the murder charges. He was convicted of sedition, treason and assault. What crimes might you commit in the future? Discuss all possible: Believing that the ends wholly justify the means, there's no real limit to what Cináed is willing to commit. However, he's also not anxious to find himself back in Azkaban so he practices self-control. Intimidation through status, past actions and gestures are his preferred approaches but he won't back down if the other continues to push. In addition, he considers muggle baiting, hunting and fear tactics against muggles to be a matter of sport. Especially since he has no wand, many of his crimes against muggles bear more resemblance to muggle on muggle crimes and are, usually, overlooked by the Ministry. As many in the WBA do, Cináed does help himself to a token from the victim as a memento. Are you currently under pursuit by the Ministry of Magic?: No, but the Ministry does keep a careful eye on himWand Description: As a terms of his release, Cináed is not allowed to own or carry a wand. Violation of this agreement can result in a return to Azkaban. Wandmakers in Wizarding Britain are aware of those released former-DE who've been forbidden from purchasing a wand. He was been trying for several years to defeat a wizard in order to obtain the other's wand but, without the aid of a wand of his own, he has been unsuccessful. Physical Description:At 6'6'' and 235 pounds, Cináed's size is enough to catch the casual passerby's attention, a response he's quite satisfied with. Not surprisingly, he'd been emaciated and had lost most of his muscle mass by the end of his 75 month sentence in Azkaban but has since put considerable effort in regaining his form. He is not bulky but has little excess body fat and strong, clearly defined muscles. He carries himself tall and square . His formidable stature is not his only physical feature that helps draw attention. Cináed has very long, dark blond hair and carefully styled facial hair. Though only in his late twenties, his few years in Azkaban has left him appearing slightly older.Understanding the value of lasting first impressions, Cináed takes considerable care in his appearance. He gives thought to the manner in which he styles his hair and dresses himself. He is, obviously, extremely proud of his blood heritage and has no intentions, in any manner, to hide his status as a wizard. Believing "fear of getting caught assimilating with muggles" is nothing more than a sign of fear and weakness to the inferior class, he, usually, does not react as strong as many pureblood wizards to the prospects of wearing traditionally muggle clothes. He may, at times, dress in a muggle street clothes if the impact of it would serve a purpose. However, he also would never consider dressing in a muggle fashion in order to shield his magical abilities from the muggle world. Strictly traditional, old-fashioned wizarding robes are a fashion style Cináed does, as a general rule, avoid. He does not consider himself a Death Eater and abhors it when he is identified as one. Believing strongly that the younger generation of pureblood wizards needs to establish their own identity - separate from the Death Eaters - he dresses in a distinctly youthful, yet still wizarding fashion. He usually opts for new, trendy styles of robes or robes of different materials, such as leather. His robes are, usually, adorned with a vague though, in his mind, succulently ironic token from one of his first post-Azkaban muggle victims: a smooth, white rabbit-foot keychain. Personality Description:Subtlety is one of the last traits that comes to mind when one is faced with describing Cináed. While he is, certainly, not flamboyant, per se, there is a certain, distinctive persona that leaves little to interpretation. He approaches life with a vibrant passion that makes him either a strong asset, a frustrating acquaintance or a formidable foe, depending on where the other person stands with Cináed. Undeniably, Cináed views purebloods as the superior class. The more tainted an individual's blood becomes, the lower their status in his eyes. Muggles are, he believes, of a lowest class and, other than their potential to dilute wizarding blood - which is the responsibility of the superior class to protect - he believes muggles represent no threat and he pays them little mind. He doesn't share the same paranoid avoidance of everything muggle as many in the pureblood wizarding world are prone to exhibiting - he believes doing so offers them far more credit then they deserve. Instead, he views them in the same light as royalty might view a jester - an inferior soul who's only real worth is for the ruling class' entertainment. His intolerance towards muggleborns is, in fact, often stronger than it is for muggles. Muggles provide trivial entertainment and pose little threat. Muggleborns, on the other hand, pose a significant threat to their pureblood status. Violence against muggleborns is harder to camouflage, though, and as a result, Cináed focuses his attention on intimidation tactics and pureblood ideology recruitment - especially in the younger set. His temper is easily flared by muggleborns, though, thus far, he's managed to avoid committing too many transgressions that would lead him back to Azkaban. Cináed believes in blood superiority whole-heartedly but, quite avidly, carefully separates himself from the old Death Eaters. He views the inner circle of Death Eaters as a group of well-bred purebloods who got blinded by a hypocritical zealot that led them to failure twice. He strongly believes that the older generation of purebloods has lost and believes that it is the younger generation's obligation to reestablish themselves as a superior and stronger class. Younger former Death Eaters that, simply, got caught up in the stories he shares a fraternal sympathy towards. As one might expect, Cináed possesses a strong, cocky arrogance. In his youth, he demonstrated a charismatic amiability that helped draw others towards him, despite the arrogance. His stint in Azkaban did prove to jade that charisma slightly though he can still use it to his advantage. Coming hand in hand with that arrogance, Cináed feels a certain sense of entitlement - of feeling he has more right to certain privileges and perks of the world he lives in over others. Enjoying the perks of life is definitely a part of that sense of entitlement and he lives whole-heartedly by that. History:Fionn Tawse, the eldest son in an old pureblood family, married a young witch, Anna, shortly after finishing Hogwarts. He believed, firmly, in the concept of pureblood supremacy. While, immediately after finishing school, Fionn did enjoy a brief career as an arithmancer, he readily turned his attention to serving the Dark Lord during Lord Voldemort's first rise to power. Fionn Tawse had been in Lord Voldemort's service for almost a decade by the time his third child and first son was born. Cináed was only five months old when the Dark Lord was defeated for the first time and many of the Death Eaters, including Fionn Tawse, were arrested. Fionn was sentenced to Azkaban but, within three years of his incarceration, for reasons unknown to the Tawse family, Fionn was given the dementor's kiss. Cináed spent much of his early childhood in a fatherless home under the care of his mother and two older sisters. Having never known his father, Cináed didn't, personally, feel any sense of loss when his father finally passed away in Azkaban, several years later. It was watching his mother and sisters dealing with the loss that had a greater impact on the young man. In the fall after his eleventh birthday, Cináed began his studies at Hogwarts where he was sorted into Slytherin house. Cináed was never the model student - opting for socializing with his fellow Slytherins over studying for exams or meticulously editing his homework. Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration were the three classes that held his interest enough to allow him to pass a handful of O.W.Ls. But, other than the superior smugness common with members of the Slytherin house, Cináed was rarely willing to divert his attentions from his social endeavors to worry about things such as Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters. It wasn't until, during his fourth year, that rumors of the Dark Lord's return prompted him to give them much consideration. Though too young to, in any way, actively support Lord Voldemort's return to power, if the rumors were - indeed - true, Cináed eagerly anticipated the prospects of some level of success. Some degree of victory would offer purebloods as a whole and, especially, his father and his sacrifice some sense of meaning. Lord Voldemort was, after all, the only one who seemed to have the courage to stand up for the cause and lead them to the victory. He still wasn't of age when the Death Eaters lay siege to the Hogwarts Castle but in the chaos of fighting, he readily joined with the Death Eater, taking his fair share of shots at the Aurors and staff that were holding up their defense. But, in almost a bitterly ironic turn of events, the Death Eaters failed again. Having been recognized and identified by many staff and Aurors, just as his father had been in the previous aftermath, Cináed was expelled from Hogwarts, arrested and sent to Azkaban. He served a sentence of 76 months, offering him plenty of time to ruminate over the Death Eater's failure. Especially when the public became generally aware of the Dark Lord's own halfblood status, Cináed's disdain for those pureblood wizards that followed the Dark Lord blindly into defeat twice grew considerably. He still believes in pureblood superiority, though he believes that it had to come from all of them that believed in it. Shortly after his release, he became aware of a new underground movement that sought to reclaim their status and liberate them from the oppression that the Ministry held. The laws forbidding wand ownership of many convicted ex-Death Eaters as well as the laws forbidding the use of magic in the presence of muggles were seen as an attempt to oppress and control the dominant pure-blood class. At the same time anti-muggleborn and anti-ministry, this underground movement was slowly growing in numbers as those afflicted by the aftermath of the Battle of Hogwarts sought the strength in the numbers the movement offered. They soon began to call themselves the Wizarding Blood Alliance or the WBA. While the WBA has yet to recognize a single, individual leader, there are a number of individuals who, quite clearly, vie for more control and influence over the group. Cináed quickly became involved with the organization and has, over the years worked his way up the ranks. Using a fair chunk of the family money, he purchased a small pub in Knockturn Alley - a location which quickly became a social and organizational meeting place for members of the WBA. While the infighting prevents any one individual from claiming too much influence and power, Cináed enjoys the sport of the infighting as much as the potential for mugglebaiting the organization provides.. Writing Sample:Cináed wanted to reach across the bar with the dirty mop rag and wipe the smug little grin off from underneath the pudgy little man's moustache. Leaning against the edge of the bar, Cináed slowly twirled the bishop between two fingers, seemingly oblivious to the seasick-like grimace on the chess piece's face. The game was far from over, though the little prick seemed to think that it was. There were still two nervously fidgeting pawns and an overly rigid knight standing sacrificially between his king and queen and the other man's troops. This game of wizard's chess was far from over and it would suit the pudgy wizard well to remember Cináed had won before with far less. "Shall I just go to the Leaky Cauldron?" A gruff, impatient voice down that bar asked, giving the bottom edge of his shot glass a discreet but recognizable tap against the bar. "Be my guest," Cináed responded without looking up from the chess board. "I said I'd be right there, but if you'd prefer their company then scurry off. You. C-4. Oh, stop flubbering," he said, rolling his eyes and pushing himself upright off the counter and moved down the length of the bar to stand in front of the glass-wielding wizard. "You won't find that there, though," he said, pointing to the empty glass. His small, quaint dark little pub had been quickly developing the reputation for experimental drink concoctions - some of which resembled potions more than they did simple alcoholic beverages. Of course, there was still plenty of fire whiskey for the less adventurous. As Cináed refilled the empty shot glass, a small cry and the tiniest clank of metal signaled the fall of the tiny pawn. But, Thom, his pudgy opponent was still staring at the board - it would clearly be some time before the man made his move. Of course, the game was strongly in Thom's favor but it was clear Thom was second-guessing himself, probably thinking it couldn't be that simple. "I've not seen you around before," he said, flatly, turning back to the wizard opposite him that sat, staring at the foaming, dark liquid in his shot glass. The fellow wore long, overly baggy robes that covered him fully in extra waves of fabric. Only the man's head and hands were exposed but Cináed could see the telltale signs from what he could see in the man's wrists and hands and face. His skin was far too light and the bones too prominent in his hands. Cináed had seen a lot of his type stumble through since he opened the place four years ago. "Just off the island?" he asked. The fellow nodded without speaking. "They give you your wand back?" The fellow shook his head. Cináed grinned and dragged his stool closer to the fellow and settled himself across the bar from him. "Welcome to freedom again, brother," he offered, reaching out a hand. "But, I'd advise you stay clear of the Leaky Cauldron. And, be careful with those drinks - you got to work your way back up to full strength."Sum up your character in one paragraph:At the same time vibrant, calloused and charismatic, Cináed is a passionate individual. He's a man that lives hard, plays hard and fights hard and all of these are factors that influence his role and involvement in the WBA. He regards muggles as weaklings that pose no threat to wizards but dislikes muggleborns by principle. He is only marginally more accepting of former inner circle Death Eaters though he, at least, judges them on their past actions rather than their birthright. He is one of many individuals the Ministry keeps a close eye on and Cináed is careful to give them no real reason to take action. How long have they had it?: He has not, yet, mastered this skill but he is in the later stages of his study. Judging by the rate of his previous progress, barring any unforeseen interferences, he expects to master it by the end of the summer. How did they learn or hone this ability?: Shortly after his release from Azkaban, Cináed began researching this ability. Though he never completed his final N.E.W.T. year, Cináed always excelled at charms and transfiguration. Surrounded by people who readily smuggled illegal creatures and artifacts, getting his hands on a number of transfiguration texts and other writings on the matter proved quite easy. Over the past few years, as an ex-convict, Cináed has had his share of free time to devote to the practice.Describe how the Special Ability influences their life. What do they use it for?: Since his release, Cináed has found himself painfully aware of being denied the very thing that defines his identity: the use of magic. Being one of the few avenues of magic that didn't require the use of a wand, Cináed became intrigued with the study of this advanced form of transfiguration shortly after his release. Though the risks of being discovered as an unregistered animagus are in many ways just as grave as getting caught with a wand, but the prospects of the ability gives him some sense of control. Due to the absence of a wand, Cináed has put considerable effort into gaining control over a magical skill that could prove useful in his own defense, if the need arose. Still surrounded by many dark wizards, Aurors and Ministry officials, possessing this magical ability would help level the playing field as well.Write a description of what happens when your character is exhibiting this Special Ability: As of yet, Cináed hasn't mastered this skill, but he does have an idea of what form he will take. Though not much larger than the average blue jay, the black and white magpie is well known for its conniving and mischievous manner. They are scavengers, loud, opportunistic and are well known for their willingness to tease and mock eagles, owls and other predatory birds in the presence of other magpies to win a higher social status. Assisting in the Escape of Fugitive Kyle Gibson - highly suspicious, though unproven. Cináed was questioned by auror and Ministry Supervisor Tamis RaynorMurder of Sean Wald - muggle - high level of suspicion, though unproven. Murder was reported to muggle police as a mugging gone wrong. Due to the body's disposal at the place where he observed Cináed muggle-baiting a girl, Dreogan Eleor reported his suspicions to Tamis Raynor. Though nothing was proven, Cináed was returned to the Bridge House during further investigations.Kidnapping, Torture and memory modification of of Akiva Katz - Case is being built from little bits of information the victim remembers.Imperious, Torture and Murder of Jason White - Muggle - Low level of suspicion. Muggle investigators considered COD to be accidental house fire caused by falling asleep with a lit cigaretteOrganization and Involvement of Subversive, anti-Ministry Organization - Unknown level suspicion; the Ministry knows there's something out there and they are piecing together clues. The Aurors know there is more going on in Cin’s pub, but I don’t know if they yet suspect something so conniving. The pub has been on higher surveillance since the Runespoor incident. How much Cin himself is suspected for WBA would depend on how much he is suspected for the Robards murder. Imperious, Torture and Murder of Kenneth Frobisher - Muggle -currently under investigation in connection with Spencer and Robards case.Imperious of Ava Grosvenor - Unknown, though Sasha is growing aware of thisImplantation of WBA member at Hogwarts - Ministry is UnawareIllegal infiltration of Hogwarts to start student hate group - Ministry is unawareImperious of Aberdeen Spencer; Utilization of her in murder of Gawain Robards - Once it is determined Doctor Frobischer was imperioused and murdered, this crime can be easily linked to the pediatrician's death. Once that connection has been made, this will link directly to both cases (Frobischer and Robards)Assassination of Gawain Robards - The Ministry knows this is a WBA-related crime and have some suspicions it was Cinaed. They are currently building this case. Cin was sitting right in front of Tamis when the happened and since they did not find a wand on him, however suspicious they may or may not be, they don’t have any evidence. In this case, they know Spencer was imperioused and they know the last person who saw her was the muggle doctor. Wouldn’t be hard to link the doc’s death with the imperiousing. If the Aurors suspect him for the Gibson case and Sean Walsh – there are some developing patterns here. Muggle used in crime, muggle dies, connected to wizarding activity. It all creates an MO. Cin is too consistent in his techniques. If they make the connections with this case, he would automatically become suspect for Akiva’s kidnapping, which would make him suspect for the WBA. All of it not able to be proven, but shite could hit the fan. Haha. If we want him this suspected, could be the real reason Tamis bailed him out of the Runespoor – she wants to see what he’s up to and learn more about the WBA that way. Kidnapping of werewolf, tissue samples stolen to create biological weapon and forced memory modification - Unknown - the werewolf was apprehended by the Ministry following the attack at HogsmeadeFacilitating the attack and infection of Knox Greyfriar by use of kidnapped werewolf - same as aboveKidnapping of Margaret Groust - confirmed; 3 aurors were witness, charges droppedIllegal possession of wand - confirmed; 3 aurors were witness, charges droppedImperious and forced memory modification of old woman (Frank's customer) - undetermined. Crime is in process; she was imperioused to allow Cináed the ability to capture Frank PrattKidnapping, assault, forced memory modification and forced werewolf infection of Frank Pratt through illegal biological weapon - undetermined. Crime is in processHarboring of Fugitive Izadora Franti - Ministry is aware of her living arrangements and were watching herHarboring of Fugitive Theodora Kingstreet - Ministry's unawareMugglebaiting during Halloween - unknown; in progressIntended/Desired target for muggle-loving sentiments: Dreogan Eleor - unknown; in progressIntended target for muggle-loving sentiments: Sasha Schlagenweit - unknown; in progress Skip to next post

Re: Cináed Tawse: Criminal, Owner of the Black Chimeara, WBA member Reply #1 on June 20, 2009, 12:41:08 PM Accepted! ~Elle/FaunaAbout You, the Writer:We will never ask any member to disclose any personal information.Your Nickname: [i ]MaiHave you read and do you agree to the Code of Conduct & Guidelines?: I have, indeedHow did you find us and decide to write with us? Skip to next post
Special Ability - Magpie Animagus Reply #2 on June 20, 2009, 01:05:45 PM Accepted! ~Elle/FaunaCharacter Name: Cináed Tawse List your other characters, if applicable: Mairead ó Fearghail, Tulojow Nagde, Sasha SchlagenweitPlease provide a link to your Application: LinkAge: 27Special Ability: Animagus in training - close to masteringWhen did your character master this ability? The magpie is widespread in mythology throughout Europe and Asia. Skip to next post

The Jukebox Reply #4 on June 24, 2009, 09:24:53 PM The JukeboxOk - Cin's turn. This has the arrogance, in the moment-ness and wired-ness feel that I associate with Cináed. I have lots of music on my ipod (I never listen to the radio so a full ipod = my radio) so I frequently come across songs I don't remember I have. This one came on and struck me so strongly - it just seems very fitting of Cin's image of himself. It was what helped me decide on the magpie as the animagus form.Raven in the Storm - John Gorka (Note: you can forward through the speaking - actually singing starts about 25 seconds into it)I'm the latest apparitionCutting slices in the nightI come through without permissionMoving in and out of human sightI'm the tapping on your shoulderI'm the raven in the stormI'll take shelter in your raftersI'm the shiver when you're warmI'm the gold in CaliforniaI'm the well in MexicoLike the vultures in the valleyI will wait for you to goI'm the gypsy in your pocketI'm the horseman in your dreamsI'm the reason dogs are barkingI'm the hand that stops the screamI'm the baby's cry that isn'tI am the distant relativeI'm the scratching in the ceilingI'm advice you shouldn't giveI'm the ghost of a traveling salesmanMy foot will be there in your doorThough I can walk through walls and windowsI will knock just like beforeI'm the darkness in your daughterI'm the spot beneath the skinI'm the scarlett on the pavementI am the broken heart withinI won't take a train to nowhereI will not touch just anyoneAsk a stranger why I'm waitingIn the chamber of a gunI initially thought I'd have a hard time finding songs that suited Cin, but they've turned about to be among the easier ones to find. I was listening to this song and first took note of it since it is Cin's pb Marco who performs. I realized halfway through it's a rather good match for Cin's perspective on his own childhood and what it must be like to look back knowing half of your life was childhood and half where your existence disappears in a cell. High Hopes - by Pink Floyd, covered by NightwishBeyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were youngIn a world of magnets and miraclesOur thoughts strayed constantly and without boundaryThe ringing of the division bell had begunAlong the long road and on down to the causewayDo they still LIVE there by the cutThere was a ragged band that followed in our footstepsRunning before time took our dreams awayLeaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the groundTo a life consumed by slow decayThe grass was greenerThe light was brighterWith friends surroundedThe nights of wonderLooking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind usTo a glimpse of how green it was on the other sideSteps taken forwards but sleepwalking back againDragged by the force of some inner tideAt a higher altitude with flag unfurledWe reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed up worldEncumbered forever by desire and ambitionThere's a hunger still unsatisfiedOur weary eyes still stray to the horizonThough down this road we've been so many timesThe grass was greenerThe light was brighterThe taste was sweeterThe nights of wonderWith friends surroundedThe dawn mist glowingThe water flowingThe endless riverThe grass was greenerThe light was brighterThe taste was sweeterThe nights of wonderWith friends surroundedThe dawn mist glowingThe water flowingThe endless river Skip to next post

Re: Cináed Tawse: Criminal, Owner of the Black Chimeara, WBA member Reply #6 on May 11, 2010, 05:32:52 PM Cináed's Criminal HistoryNote: the below is for informational purposes and combines information from Mai and Dawn. If you have any questions or would like information about pursuing any of these crimes, feel free to pm me!CrimeLevel of SuspicionIllegal Animagus Status - Ministry is unawareMurder of Richard Wrinkleton for his wand - None; COD ruled old ageCurse by Imperious and Murder of Lee Arnold - Muggle - Under investigation - Tamis had been on a stake out under the bench the man was on and saw him talking with Gibson, she would have tried tracking him down, and kept an eye open for muggle information for leads. Finding out that he was a muggle and murdered, and given her suspicion of Tawse in this case, she could have connected the dots and questioned if he had been imperioused. But since the man is dead and Gibson can’t be questioned, she can’t prove that. Murder of David Pattison - Muggle - They know his murder was connected to the staged escape of Kyle Gibson so, as their suspicion of him there is an extension of their suspicion of Cináed in the Gibson case.
