This match is not being role-played out because of a dirth of writers to fill the roles, however the match did go on! Read on for a recap of the action!
Despite a very sad loss at the start of the season, Hufflepuff came out onto the pitch looking ready to go. They were young, and half of their players were in their first season. But with Captain Angie Lemon and experienced player Ayla Collins, the team was looking much stronger than in their match against Slytherin.
And Gryffindor came out of the locker rooms with confidence, but not ready to underestimate the badgers. They'd play boldly, but always remembering how a cornered badger can come out fighting.
When the match began, it was clear that the game would be decided by bludgers! Both teams focused heavily on a strong offensive defense with good balance of assaults against both seekers, and chasers. Plays were disrupted, quaffles dropped, and the snitch kept safe with the Seekers struggling to get some peace. It turned out to be not only the longest game of the season so far lasting nearly 2 hours, but also had one of the longest streaks of no points gained either side!
Forty-five minutes in, Gryffindor managed to get their Chasers to the goal and make a shot past the Hufflepuff keeper. The crowds woke up from their nap in an eruption of shouting and cheers.
At 1 hour 50 minutes, Hufflepuff pulled it together and finally scored with the quaffle. Cries from the Hufflepuff fans almost sounded surprised, but they cheered for two minutes straight with victory dances and much scarf-waving.
It would be another 30 full minutes before the Gryffindor Seeker finally was able to corner the snitch nearly in the sandpit below Hufflepuff's hoops. The game ended, Gryffindor victorius, and all astride a broom weary and satisfied.
Gryffindor wins, and Hufflepuff begins their redemption.
