Out to Prove he's nothing like his brother

on October 14, 2012, 02:15:29 PM

For those of you who don't know, Gideon is my first character's (Trystan) younger by three years brother. He's the complete opposite of Trystan, and I'm looking to develop him more than I did with Trystan, as he's a character I haven't used before.
In order to do that, I am aware I need the help of any of you lovely rpers here at AO.

FRIENDS/ACQUAINTANCES
I would like Gideon to have two or three acquaintances (not exactly friends) either in his own house, or other houses to attempt to get him out of his studying all the time.  LIke, trying to convince him to go to a Quidditch game, or a Hogsmeade trip, or anything really.  He's only in fourth year and he's already spending his free time in the library, it has to stop sometime.  Basically I'm looking for 2 or 3 people that would be willing to drag him kicking and screaming away from his books and try to get him to do something fun, or bordering on dangerous would be fun too.
Acquaintance - Addison Rockwell
Acquaintance - Ayla Collins

ENEMIES
Gideon needs an enemy or at least someone who really doesn't like him.  It wouldn't be healthy for Gideon to only hate his brother and get along with everyone else.  Doesn't matter who it is, I just think it would come in handy for plottage.
Enemies - Xavier Tawse[1]

OLDER BROTHER
Yes, I'm very aware that Gideon already has an older brother, but as it's all over his biography and some of Trystan's, they absolutely despise each other (although neither one of them will admit it, would kill anyone who hurt their brother).  Basically Gideon needs someone who he can turn to for advice and just someone to talk to.
Brother Figure - Peyton Wentworth

A DATE FOR THE BALL
I am convinced of Gideon's need for a date to the Yule Ball.  Here's what I'm looking for .  Someone who isn't wanting any emotional response from Gideon other than appreciation for the fun time, and the willingness to go with him.  It could be someone who harbors a crush - but Gideon isn't interested.  I'm open for ideas so PM me and let me know.
 1. I have the most scathingly brilliant idea for this guy

Being a fellow fourth year, Addison and Gideon would share most of their classes together. Now, I have no idea how much Gideon would pay attention to Addison.

She's a bookworm herself, and a perfectionist. She would be a regular in the library as well, and will excessively study. Any work that she completes, and any partner work in class for that matter, would have to meet her perfect standards in order for her to be completely okay with handing it in. However, she doesn't spend her entire time studying. True, she would normally finish her work first, but she does do other things than study. She likes art, and would freely wander the castle looking for inspiration. Being curious, she wouldn't mind walking into forbidden locations just to see what was on the other side. In addition, she is loyal to her friends and would accompany her friends to anything dangerous to help them if need be. She enjoys being outside, and likes flying and Qudditch, in addition to muggle sports as well.

To basically sum up my giant paragraph above, Addison and Gideon seem to be alike in so many ways. In any relationship that they have, Addison would likely encourage Gideon to at least not hate his brother, and use her own relationships with her two brothers as an example. Oh, and Addison loves Herbology, if that helps Gideon or not.

Friends/Acquainances

For that I've got Ayla. Having been in the same year for the past three and a half years they would obviously know each other. Ayla is also so opposite of Gideon that I could totally see her as being the one to pull him out of the library to act his age and have some fun (I also just need to get Ayla back to her happy go lucky bubbly everyone's friend roots) She's been spending most of her time in the kitchens lately but she's always just a smiling face around the castle and probably wouldn't be caught dead studying in the library.

Enemies

Not that there'd be anything outright between them that I could see right off the bat but Xavier's just my all around villain character and if there's anyone you don't want to be on the bad side of it's the crazy Slytherin playboy who's been accused of killing a fellow classmate and is actually known to have killed a werewolf over the summer.

Big Brother/Mentor

The closest I have to offer there would be Peyton, the Captain of the Ravenclaw quidditch team. His little sister Helena (currently an NPC) is a fellow fourth year and exactly like Gideon and would be a familiar face within the library. If there was someone that he needed advice from or just someone to talk to Peyton'd be excellent for the job.
