MIDTERM EXAM: 4th years on October 13, 2012, 07:11:09 PM Welcome To Your Muggle Studies Exam! The students find the room quite different from what it usually looks like. There are three long tables, one that has several chairs on either side, one that has an assortment of metal objects, and one that has a variety of clothing. Near the table with clothing articles are wired framed models, easy to change size and to make proportionate depending on how the clothing fits."Good morning students!" Proffesor Santucci says to the class. "Today is your exam day. As you noticed when you walked in, there are three stations. The written portion, the conversational portion, and the fashion or engine portion. Please circle around at your liking, and visit each table before the end of the period.""The written portion is simple. Answer the questions on the paper and turn it in to me. I trust you can handle that." She said simply, gesturing to a stack of papers on her desk. Written Portion:Question 1: Where did humanity start? Question 2: Where did society start?Extra Credit: What are the three hands on the clock?[1] 1. The questions continue from here. Feel free to make up more of them, or just RP with what's there.Althea wandered over to the table with the clothing, picking up a particularly bright yellow tanktop, "For the fashion section, you have to assemble a muggle outfit. Please keep in mind what we've studied about fashion and use this knowledge to put together your creation."[2]"If fashion doesn't suit your fancy, you can work on your engine over here." She said, dropping the tanktop down on the table and walking over to the table with half of an engine assembled and the missing pieces next to it. Picking up an oddly shaped piece of metal, she held it up for the class to see as she explained what they could do there. "In order to finish your engine, you will utilise the assortment of objects you find here. Once you've finished your engine, call me over and I will examine it."[3]She placed the small socket back down on the table and proceeded to walk over to the table surrounded by chairs. "Here you'll complete the conversational piece of your exam. I've assigned partners, so just check the list on the table to see who your partner is."[4] Althea clapped her hands together. "I'd like you to speak about current events in the Muggle world, from popular music, to fashion, to news, really whatever fits your fancy."With a smile she clapped her hands together, "That's your exam! Please complete the written portion first, you'll find the papers on your desks. After you may proceed to whichever stations you like!""I wish you all good luck, and I know that you will do well!" She said, as she sat down in her blue chair that was now off in the corner. "Oh, yeah, Begin!"[5] 2. Go here and state a number and a letter, the number pertaining to the shirt, and the letter pertaining to the pants. Please only refer to items 4,5,6 and d,e,f. The students will dress the mannequins with the choices they have made, and then continue to another task. 3. At the end of the exam, after everyone has completed it, I will post back her response. 4. If you would like to pick your own partner, go ahead. If you'd like me to assign one, shoot me a PM. And if you'd like to use an NPC, well, go right ahead! 5. Alright! Have fun, and I look forward to reading your responses! There were lots of different parts of the exam!1) Humanity started in Afria. Because monkeys turned into people.2) Society started in Mesopotatomia. Because before-humans learned how to farm, so they could stay in one place instead of having to chase food and stuff around the land. Extra Credit: Hour hand, minute hand, second handWinifred wasn't quite sure if she had remembered that correctly. It had been difficult for her to understand and follow in class when they had learned it. But hopefully she'd gotten somewhere close tot he right answer!Based on what the professor had said, they could choose fashion or an engine... Winnie wasn't very good with building things, so she decided to create an outfit. Really, this was kind of fun! Oh how exciting! Winifred really enjoyed muggle fashion. It was one of her favorite things. (Even though Winnie's favorite muggle fashion seemed to be stuck in the 1970s. But nobody needed to know that.) She quickly dressed her mannequin using blue jeans (D) and a t-shirt (5). The final part of her Muggle Studies exam was apparently conversational. She checked the list, and her partner was another fourth year. A Ravenclaw girl[1]- but unfortunately, not one of her friends. Hopefully, though, the girl would be smart! She could totally do this. She had paid close attention in class, so Winifred had faith she could manage it just fine on her own. Winifred brought up a recent event- from just a week ago- where over one hundred muggles were killed in Baghdad from car bombs. She had heard a muggle student talking about it when it happened, and had sent an owl to her mother to ask some questions. Winnie had also heard a Salem student mentioning that an Italian court had convicted an American girl of murdering her roommate in Italy. The Ravenclaw girl- luckily also a muggle born- managed to mostly keep up witht he conversation at hand.[2]After finishing her exam, Winifred was quite proud of herself and very confident that she had done quite well on it! The written portion might have been weaker, but everything else was top notch! 1. using an NPC 2. Click here; Winifred is referring to the first two events in December. You are dismissed, and I just wanted to say, I am very happy to have you in my class." Althea smiled, grabbing a notebook from behind her and marking down an O for Winnie's exam.A few other students went, and everyone did exceptionally well. She marked down all the grades, with a smile on her face. Everyone was doing swimmingly! She was so proud of her students! The exam didn't seem very hard at all, though very divided unlike her other exams. She removed a quill from her bag and got to work on the writing portion.1. Humanity started in Africa.2. Society started in Mesopotamia. Extra Credit: The three clock hands are the minute hand, the hour hand, and the second hand, though sometimes clocks or watches don't include a second hand. All of the questions were easy enough, nothing that she couldn't have picked up in class or at home. Zoe breezed through them, finishing before others who were less accustomed to muggle matters. She stood and went on to the next part of the exam, quickly choosing the fashion station rather than the engine station. While she was not adept at either, Zoe really had no idea how the parts of an engine worked with each other to function, much less how to fix a broken one. Her family owned no car and she had never seen under the hood of one. She briefly looked over the available clothing before placing d) jeans and 4) a t-shirt onto the mannequin.[1]Finishing and moving onto the last part of her exam, Zoe saw she was assigned to a Gryffindor boy.[2] The boy didn't know much about muggle things, so Zoe began with an event her mum had owled her about not long after she had gotten into school, an attempted plan to explode a plane with soda bottles.[3] There had been a lot of talk about it in her village, her mum had said. Her lead seemed to ease them into more conversation, and the talk of soda bottles seemed to bring them into a discussion of food. Zoe didn't feel challenged by this conversation, nor did she feel that it would give her a stellar grade, but she complied, mentioning some muggle holidays on which special meals were eaten. She did slip in some trivia of how muggles made certain prepared foods, letting the boy boldly voice his disgust and questioning of how muggles could eat such things.Time was called, and Zoe said goodbye to her partner and gathered her stuff. Yet another exam was finished. 1. I'd make the conversation part more of a conversation, but I'd rather not try to get into the character of an NPC or try to make one up myself. 2. Using a NPC as well. 3. Refering to the third event here. Skip to next post Re: MIDTERM EXAM: 4th years Reply #4 on December 12, 2012, 07:04:17 PM Althea started clapping. "Wonderful job, Zoe! I can promise it will show through your grade." Althea marked down an O for Zoe's grade, and then smiled. "You can go, darling. And have a very nice day!" She said, proud of how far her students had come. Althea sat there as everyone else did fairly well."Alright. Good class! See you all in January, and students," She gave a stern look that then changed to a smile. "Have a wonderful winter break." And that marks the end of the exam! We will resume class in January! Thank you all that were involved! Skip to next post
