It was a cold November Night and the sun was setting in the wizardry world as the evening stars began to shine through the glass of the surrounding windows. The air was cold and damp as the clattering of silence filled the Auror quarters. In the far study room a few voices could be detected but not understood to the feeble ear. The sound of clear concern masked the darkness that was beginning to fall outside made the sight more errie for first year Auror in training miss Smurthwaite.

Kirby was fresh out of hogwarts and ready to indulge into a life of ambition and mystery but never did she plan to let fear take over her senses. She casually walked through the ministry stopping outside a small oak door that was slightly a jar as she heard the whisper of voices call from inside the room. It ws a true statement that indeed 'Curiosity killed the cat' as she lightly knocked upon the door and greeting the fellow trainees and Auror inside the room. "Mind if i join?" she stammered with clear excitement upon her face as she entered flicking her long ginger locks behind her.

Vivian looked up to see the door being pushed open, another trainee she assumed, her face unfamiliar to the seasoned Auror. "Come in, and you can shut the door behind you." She greeted, glad she had coffee this morning, otherwise this would have been unbearable to everyone in the room. "We're just starting Concealment and Disguise if you'd like to join us."

She had a few books that included spells on changing ones appearance, hair color and eye color; there were also a few small vials of unmixed Polyjuice Potions. The trainees would end up spending a few minutes or so as each other by the end of the lesson. "Anyone want to volunteer to be our first test subject?"

Oooh, a newbie. Eha quirked an eyebrow as the unfamiliar trainee wandered in. Another Hogwarts grad, most likely. The others probably knew her, but it was all new to her. Eha caught the new girl's eye on the way in and offered her a smile, shifting to one side to give her a place to stand in their crowd before turning full attention back to Auror Callen.

"First to test what? A spell? Changing into someone? Or being the one who gets changed into?" It was the last one she wasn't looking forward to. Distaste flickered briefly over her features, replaced by a joking grin as she pointed her thumb to the newcomer. "Wouldn't mind polyjuicing her, personally. Always liked the gingers."

Slowly the chirpy red head walked gracefully inside the room she now knew as a lesson and went to join the others in training closing the overly large wooden door behind her. She noticed one of the trainees flash her a smile in greeting and nodded back to her in acknowledgement. Swiftly the lesson began to take place as they began to learn different ways of transfiguration that would become useful. She listened closely to the auror and smiled kindly as the girl from before offered to turn into her form. Kirby instantly agreed. ""Sure. Not a problem going first for me" the chirpy Irish accent showing through as she spoke.

"Well then, Kirby I'm going to need one of your hairs. I'll add it to the Polyjuice potion and then Eha can test out its effects. And because it is such a small amount of the potion, it should only last for a matter of minutes." Vivian said with a slight smile, she remembered the first time an Auror had given this lesson when she was a trainee...

She'd been deceived unwillingly by the Auror and ended up looking like another trainee for at least three hours. Vivian had been careful this time though, and she'd made sure the potion would only last for about ten to fifteen minutes. She'd even tested some herself before work. While some of her coworkers enjoyed tormenting the trainees, Vivian figured there needed to be at least one sympathetic adult on their side.

Nikari had been walking around for about five minutes before she saw whom she thought was another trainee like her go into a room with a wooden door.  Gathering all of her courage, for she found herself changing the minute she walked into the Ministry and had to work to find the courage to do anything, she followed the woman and only hesitated a moment before opening the door and standing in the open doorway.

"Am I interrupting anything?" she asked.  She was still new to everything and she would be quick to exit if this didn't have anything to do with something she should be learning.  "I can leave if I am." she said and then waited for a response.

Kirby nodded to the main Auror whom was leading the night class as she asked for a few strands of her red hair for the potion ready for the other trainee known as Eha to transform into her. She gently pulled a few strands of her long ginger hair out of her scalp and handed them to Auror Callen. It was then she over heard the heavy door move across the floor and open. She turned around to see a young girl not much different in age to herself stood within the doorway. She had long blonde hair and was clearly nervous. Kirby smiled at her kindly and warmly as she invited her inside the room.

When the second newbie -- the pale one, all white and snowy -- wandered in, Eha was already halfway to the front of the room. She grinned again and gestured for Avendale to come in. "You're fine, sweetie. Just in time for a show too. Settle in."

Once the pale girl had gotten settled, Eha waited for Auror Callen to add the ginger hairs to a vial of potion before holding out her hand to accept the final mixture. It turned a smooth green color similar to cucumber soup and went down easy with one gulp, a vast improvement over the other two times she'd tried the stuff, neither of which had been entirely pleasant.

As usually, the transformation was instantaneous. It started with her nose and skin, which bubbled and twisted uncomfortably until she closed her eyes in a wince. Then the world moved as she shrank a bit, her muscles and bones losing mass to match the smaller, slighter Smurthwaite. Finally, as though as an afterthought, it spread to her hair.

When Eha opened her eyes again, the transformation was complete. A second Kirby Smurthwaite stood in her place, her casual robes now slightly too big and falling over her hands, where one glove had slipped off and fallen to the floor. Eha chuckled, spreading her hands to examine her new fingers, and smirked at her fellow trainees. "Well that's brilliant. How do I look?"

Vivian smirked, enjoying the trainees faces as they watched their colleague transform into a ginger. It was fascinating, even after all these years of being transformed herself, Vivian still thought it one of the cooler parts of the job. You could be anyone, look like anyone, and get away with it.

At least until you got caught.

"Thanks to Eha, we now know what the potion does and how fast the potion affects the individual." Vivian stated, "And I think it's a good look for you, but we only need one Kirby around the office." She joked, glad none of them took this too seriously. It wasn't a day to be serious, not that she'd ever say that to her boss...

"With the Polyjuice potion, a quick added hair from someone can give you the ability to turn into them. But you have to be careful, if we had two Kirby's walk into the office, things would look suspicious. You have to check, double check, even triple check to make sure that you won't end up running into yourself, per say."

"Anyone else want to give it a go?" She offered to the rest of the trainees.

Kirby watched in sheer amazement as her face and eyes beemed brightly as she watched a fellow trainee transform into her. She never realised what she looked liked to others till that moment and smiled admiring the transformation as she circled Eha. "You look amazing Eha i must admit!" She chuckled lightly still circling her as she thought about how amazing she now looked not that she hadn't before. It was strange but in a good way.
