Character Birthday & Age: 22 April 1998
City & Country of Birth: Cree, County Clare Ireland
Pureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn: Pureblood
House & Year: Gryffindor, First Year

Physical Description: Liam is of an average height and has black hair and green eyes. He has freckles across his nose and cheeks and a gap between his top front teeth. He is rather lean and though he speaks with an Irish accent at times you can hear another accent underneath especially when he says particular words.

Personality Description: Liam is quite competitive and likes nothing better than a challenge. He, though, has a sense of fairness and if loses he does not take it badly and he accepts and admits to his mistakes easily. He likes a good joke and he has an unusual laugh that sounds similar to a seal barking.

He is rather outspoken and loyal and can be rather stubborn and is not one to let sleeping dogs lie especially if knows how to fix it or find a way to fix it. He though knows his limits and when to give up on a lost cause.

History:

Though born in Ireland into an old pureblood family that is said to have originated in either France or Germany Liam actually travelled a bit when he was younger and spent a couple of years in Spain when he was 6 before his family returned to Ireland to prepare him for Hogwarts.

When the Grace family returned from Spain Liam’s mother found that she was pregnant again and Liam gained a little sister Aisling. Admittedly he probably would have preferred a brother but after a little while Liam and would do anything for his sister.

Though pureblooded it is more by chance that this has happened as the Grace family have nothing against the muggle population. Liam’s parents never pushed the pureblood line and though he knew that he was one he never thought he was better than anyone else despite the fact that he was knew he was different from the other kids and he was not allowed to reveal his power to them consciously.

Despite this Liam spent a lot of time with the muggle children in his small village of Cree and his parents encouraged it as they did not think it was healthy to hide him away. He was homeschooled, however, but he was allowed to join the nearby town of Kilrush’s junior sporting clubs playing soccer and rugby. He also learnt to sail as Cree and Kilrush are coastal towns.

He was always very self conscious of his magic, as it first showed when he was 5.
He naturally had no way of fully controlling his magic but he believed that he had some form of control and he had tried to do this when he was playing with the kids in Cree or when he played soccer or rugby. He has no doubt that there his magic has showed it’s self but it has never been brought up to him personally or if did it was mentioned to his parents and his parents were able to explain away the occurrence.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Liam is competitiveness and love of a challenge I think makes him a good fit to a Gryffindor. He is also loyal and trustworthy and stubbornness also seems to fit this house well.

Writing Sample:

Walking through the barrier onto platform 9 ¾ had been an interesting experience that Liam quite enjoyed. The sites and sounds of the actual platform was also enjoyable as he had never seen some many witches and wizards in one place before, well apart from his trip to Diagon Alley which was not quite the same.

The sound of the train puffing steam and occasionally tooting it’s horn, cats meowing, toads croaking, owls hooting and of course the sounds of talking laughing and crying all mingled together that caused a cacophony that the only thing that Liam could compare it to was the time that his dad took him to see and Irish Soccer League game though admittedly the sounds were completely different.

He patiently waited as his mother petted, pawed and kissed him while trying not to cry. His father shook his hand and Aisling wailed. He kneeled down and hugged his little sister and keeping composed himself headed towards the train. His father helped him heave his trunk on and Liam walked down the aisles of the train looking for an empty compartment or at least one that was reasonably empty.

Eventually he came to one that had one single girl in it and she looked like she was a first year also. He smiled at her quite shyly for him as he had noticed that she was quite pretty. She had blonde hair that was so light that it seemed almost white and big brown eyes the colour of melting chocolate.

“Do you mind if I share your compartment?” Liam asked. “Everywhere else seems to be full or almost full. I am Liam, by the way, Liam Grace.”

Sum up your character in one paragraph: Liam is fair and honourable and will fight the battles that need to be fought.
