The unicorn startled back as Jack got closer, but then got adventurous and wandered over to him. Lexi watched on in amusement as the little foal circled her classmate curiously, probably checking him out to make sure he wasn't a psycho, or whatever it is unicorns thought crazy humans could be.
For some odd reason, Jack reminded her of Lucas, curious and a tad bit carefree. Thinking of Joshua and Lucas made Lexi feel homesick, the little twins probably running around the yard in Oulton Broad, probably playing in the dirt or with their plastic swords. Maybe reenacting the battle of Hogwarts... who knew with kids like that?
One of the mature unicorns stepped out of the forest and whinnied, causing the foal to look over at her mother. The foal whinnied back and stomped her feet on the ground, obviously not pleased that she was being called. "Don't make her go!" Lexi said to the unicorn, somewhat sarcastically of course, unicorns couldn't talk. And they probably couldn't understand Lexi either.
