Dear Professor Kesali,
Meeting you for the first time on Halloween, and subsequently on the 15th, was truly a pleasure. I find your company to be engaging and worthwhile. It appears, however, that I misunderstood your intentions. Perhaps I read too much into your actions and not enough into you words, but it has become clear to me that you are not interested in pursuing anything more. As you said, your position at the school must be very important to you and I'm sorry to have pushed you despite knowing it would pose a problem for you.
That day in Diagon Alley, you gave me something, a necklace. It seems to be of value so I have enclosed it here. I'll be honest, I thought about throwing it away because I was angry with you. Seeing you at Miss St. James' party was confusing and frustrating. I decided against it because I would not want you to lose something as unique as this because you gave it to a stranger on a whim.
I hope I have not caused any undue concern. Please feel free to contact me if you ever decide to build that art nouveau house you mentioned. I will, of course, be happy to help in any way I can.
Sincerely,
Chaz Lawrence
