Wand: 11 inches of Willow with a core of unicorn hair.

Physical Description: Althea has silky black hair that is about two inches above her shoulders. It is a curly mess, but a controlled mess. She has deep brown eyes, the first place everyone looks. Althea has a long but thin nose and white teeth. Althea is a tall lady, standing at 5' 8". She wears a black skirt and white shirt each day, usually accented by a muggle object of some sort. She has a necklace with a small alarm clock as the pendant that actually works.

Personality Description: Althea is a nice woman, who is sensible and enjoys learning about muggles. She smiles a lot and likes to laugh. She loves to teach, and enjoys company. Althea is dedicated to her work, and enjoys her job. She thinks that if she can influence one child to hate muggles less, she has done her job.

Althea is a little quirky. She tends to lose things, and is terribly unorganized. Unorganized to the point that sometimes things just disappear. Or, well, that's what she calls it. Growing up, Althea lost everything imaginable. Her cat several times, was lost, then found. Odd the way that works.

When it comes to boys, Althea's a little quirky. She was in love with a boy for a while, but he broke up with her for being "too attached". However, she refuses to accept this, and says they broke up because he was moving away. She has trouble admitting that she makes mistakes, not only in relationships.

Althea loves muggles, and is insanely obsessed by battery powered things. Her favorite things are battery operated clocks, and in her office, she proudly displays her collection. Althea also loves turtles. Little, green, turtles. She has a collection of stuffed turtles that she also displays brightly. She is an impulse buyer, as soon as she sees something, she needs it. No, not like, "Yeah, i could use that" no. It's always. "I NEED THAT THING BECAUSE IT IS AMAZING AND I NEED IT. VERY BADLY."

Though her battery operated clocks do not work, she still likes to display them, all showing the time 9:16. She enjoys keeping them all at the same time knowing that they won’t move, because it makes her feel like she gets more done in that one hour, even though she could do anything she wanted in that hour, and regardless, the time would not change. This adds to her disorganization also, as she tends to lose track of time.

History: July 17th 1979, Althea was born. It was a hot day in London, but her parents were still overjoyed. Both 25, Jacklyn and Wilson were so happy. They wanted her to have a unique name, something magical that would make her forever stand out. So, they named her Althea. Both being magical, they saw this as a perfect name. The other students at school however, found it downright hilarious.

So, when she was 10, in 1989, her parent's pulled her out of school, and began traveling. While in America, Althea lit her mother's hair on fire after an argument about whether or not she got to eat dessert. And her mother started bawling.
And her father started bawling. And seeing the two of them sobbing, she started sobbing. It was just a crying mess.

Shortly after that happened, her father and mother split, her mother unhappy in the relationship. And shortly after that, her father got hit by a bus. Her family was distraught all the same, but not being raised as much around her father’s family, the wound felt different than a typical family loss would. She would miss him, sure, but only a few years later, another man stepped in, and took his place.

Althea was sorted in Hufflepuff, not being super smart, nor brave, nor ambitious. She loved her years at Hogwarts. Half way through her 2nd year, her mother married another man, a scholar from America. He was a wizard, and shortly after Althea turned 17, her parents had a second daughter, naming her Natalie, after the torture that Althea lived through in elementary school.

Natalie and Althea became great sisters, Natalie always being more organized than Althea.

Althea graduated Hogwarts, with not amazing marks, but good marks. Not really knowing what she wanted to do with her life, but knowing that she loved Muggles, Althea decided that she was going to blend in with Muggles to see how they go about their daily routines. She started commuting to her job at a little diner in London, learning their cuisine. When she went home each day, she would work on her cook book, Cooking with Muggles. In this book, it explained recipes of Muggles, the tools they use to cook these things, and it also told funny stories of her times working at the diner. After two years of working at this diner, her boss had finally had it with her odd behavior, weird interest in what happened in the kitchen, and her laughing when the customers would use their phones while eating.

After these years, she went to a publisher, and got her book published. The book did not do well on shelves, as not many magical beings were as in love with Muggles and muggle culture and behavior as much as she was.

Althea knew that she needed another “Diner Job”. Not actually working at a diner, just something that once again put her side by side with muggles. She went to the ministry to speak with them about adapting a different identity so that she could go to university. They had helped her wonderfully, and in a few months, at the age of 20, Althea started her schooling at The University of East London. Althea was assigned a muggle roommate, however, the girl asked for a new room assignment after she found Althea sitting on her bed, playing with her hair straightener. “How do you think they even do that?” were the last words Althea ever said to the girl.

Althea studied muggle history (as that was her major) closely, and got remarkably good marks. Althea also finally found a roommate who just thought she grew up under a rock. Sandra showed her the way society functioned, and helped Althea learn more about muggles.

She spent the next two years writing another book, this time about what muggle university was like. During this time, she fell in love. His name was Harold. She loved Harold. He, not so much. After six years of dating, he broke up with her, for her being too attached. Althea never found anyone else.

Present time: She was told to come back to Hogwarts, after sending in many applications. She is excited, since her little sister is a fourth year at Hogwarts.

Describe your job duties and how you go about them: She teaches Muggle Studies at Hogwarts, and she's just begun to teach.

Elaborate on your expertise in your field: After graduating from Hogwarts, Althea started on to a muggle secondary school, gaining her teacher's degree. She then studied independently for 8 more years (making 12) before applying for the job at Hogwarts.

Writing Sample:

Sum up your character in one paragraph: Althea Santucci is a quirky Muggle Studies teacher who is way too disorganized and loves battery operated clocks, and turtles.

Welcome To Your Muggle Studies Exam!

The students find the room quite different from what it usually looks like. There are three long tables, one that has several chairs on either side, one that has an assortment of metal objects, and one that has a variety of clothing. Near the table with clothing articles are wired framed models, easy to change size and to make proportionate depending on how the clothing fits.

"Good morning students!" Proffesor Santucci says to the class. "Today is your exam day. As you noticed when you walked in, there are three stations. The written portion, the conversational portion, and the fashion or engine portion. Please circle around at your liking, and visit each table before the end of the period."

"The written portion is simple. Answer the questions on the paper and turn it in to me. I trust you can handle that." She said simply, gesturing to a stack of papers on her desk.

Written Portion:
Question 1: Where did humanity start?

Question 2: Where did society start?

Extra Credit: What are the three hands on the clock?[1]
 1. The questions continue from here. Feel free to make up more of them, or just RP with what's there.

Althea wandered over to the table with the clothing, picking up a particularly bright yellow tanktop, "For the fashion section, you have to assemble a muggle outfit. Please keep in mind what we've studied about fashion and use this knowledge to put together your creation."[2]

"If fashion doesn't suit your fancy, you can work on your engine over here." She said, dropping the tanktop down on the table and walking over to the table with metal pieces all over it. Picking up an oddly shaped piece of metal, she held it up for the class to see as she explained what they could do there. "In order to create your engine, you will utilise the assortment of objects you find here. Once you've finished your engine, call me over and I will examine it."[3]

She placed the small socket back down on the table and proceeded to walk over to the table surrounded by chairs. "Here you'll complete the conversational piece of your exam. I've assigned partners, so just check the list on the table to see who your partner is."[4] Althea clapped her hands together. "I'd like you to speak about current events in the Muggle world, from popular music, to fashion, to news, really whatever fits your fancy."

With a smile she clapped her hands together, "That's your exam! Please complete the written portion first, you'll find the papers on your desks. After you may proceed to whichever stations you like!"

"I wish you all good luck, and I know that you will do well!" She said, as she sat down in her blue chair that was now off in the corner. "Oh, yeah, Begin!"
 2. Go here and state a number and a letter, the number pertaining to the shirt, and the letter pertaining to the pants. The students will dress the mannequins with the choices they have made, and then continue to another task.
 3. At the end of the exam, after everyone has completed it, I will post back her response.
 4. If you would like to pick your own partner, go ahead. If you'd like me to assign one, shoot me a PM. And if you'd like to use an NPC, well, go right ahead!

"Yes, Professor?"

"Mr. Stone, please remind me of our house's characteristics."

Althea nodded. "Correct. And what qualities were you showing just then?"

"Not hufflepuff qualities." He said, looking down at his feet once again.
