Interesting question, what would her friends think of her coming after Atticus. Well some of the would probably relatively confused, because many probably didn’t know she talked to him. Well if they had been observant they would have seen her eyes drift to him in classes they shared, or she would talk to him for a few minutes. Waker of course knew a lot more of the store and had she not discussed her feelings for Atticus and the kiss previously with her she would have been confused. Delilah was sure Waker still thought Atticus weird despite her feelings for him, and she didn’t expect it to change since Delilah had put the idea of Atticus being weird into her mind. It was a lot to dwell on so quickly as she tried to formulate some sort of answer to Atticus. She took a deep breath of the cool night air and squeezed his hand. It was if she was trying to comfort him to lessen the blow of what she was about to say.

“Honestly they probably would have been a tad confused, they don’t know I like you well a few do but the don’t really understand it.” Delilah smiled meekly and shrugged looking back over at Atticus. Previously she had been so disgusted with Atticus and his need to draw her so secretly. It had been weird he knew so much about her appearance from memory, but it had also been sort of flattering. The more time she spent with Atticus the more something drew her in. Delilah was still interested in learning more about him, but kissing him in the process was not a bad perk at all. Delilah was afraid to address the subject of what they were; she didn’t want to drop the boyfriend bomb too early. Hell Delilah wasn’t even sure if she wanted the title of Atticus girlfriend so soon, mainly she wanted his company with the plus side of kisses.

“What would your friends think if they saw us now?” Delilah was honestly curious to hear what his friends would think. Sure he was not the best at social interaction but he was bound to have friends. She was sure she had seen him with that Nicola Hames girl, the one with many rumours going on about the drama in her life. Delilah wasn’t so fond of Nicola because she was just so gruff and unfriendly to almost everyone. Of course when she was with Atticus or whoever her boyfriend was she was a lot more civil and friendly or at least it appeared that way. How someone could get through the gruff exterior of the girl was beyond her. Delilah had also seen Atticus with Ava, the girl was extremely pretty and lately when spotting them talking Delilah actually had felt a tad insecure. Why would Atticus want someone like herself, if he hung around Ava. Delilah shivered at the thoughts running through her head. She was nervous about losing Atticus as well as nervous about finding his friends approval. Delilah felt awkward thinking about all of this on this somewhat casual walk home.

Snapping from her thoughts she laughed, “Of course you deserve some credit for that, it was very helpful.” Delilah nodded her head, unsure if she had really caught what he had been saying while so lost in thought. “The artwork was great and the signs below helpful.” She nodded her head looking over at him.
His brother Oliver would laugh at this. Even being younger, Oliver was still more skilled with social ability than the reclusive standoffish artist. In fact he couldn't believe his luck to be holding her hand. Maybe this was a put on, he couldn't be sure but she seemed to like him plenty enough that he highly doubted she was trying to mock him in some strange way. When he stood there with her he felt himself being a little less awkward as time moved on. Their walking gave him something steady to think about as they kept in step with one another.

Atticus tried to think of who he saw Delilah around before. Was she near any of those grumbling gaggling girls he saw flaunting themselves in class? If so he might find himself shying away from knowing them further. Girls who see themselves as above the rest sickened his stomach, what he liked about the little Dutch dancer was that he never saw her looking too fondly at herself in a spoon or dish of soup. The plethora of narcissists in the school were almost staggering, but that might have been Atticus's own cynical view point.

"They don't know you like me?" He questioned her looking at her curiously, "I thought girls chit chatted about everything. Perhaps I was mistaken in my assumptions," Atticus gave her a cock-eyed grin. The kiss from the other day hadn't soured her completely from approaching him, so he must be doing something correctly. When she asked him about his own friends he scoffed, "My friends? They practically think I'm a hermit anyway." He chuckled as he realized how stupid that sounded.

Ava and Nicola were his main friends. So always he was around females, which made him a prime target for male jealousy in his house and outside of it. It was no skin off his back. They were the two that he was mostly himself around, and it was usually who he ran to or went to when he had problems. They were like sisters having been raised right along with their families.

Looking at her with a confused look, Atticus wondered if she had any clue what he was asking her. But instead of his usual snapping at her he might have done with someone else he kept his mouth shut and just nodded with a deep sigh.
Delilah loved this particular feeling, that fresh new feeling of a new relationship. Delilah wasn’t sure what their relationship actually was but she always liked the feeling of something new Sure there were moments of awkwardness but there was that excitement of the new that she often craved. Her hand in his felt perfect like it was meant to fit in that spot. She gave it an innocent affectionate squeeze as she tried to stop over thinking this entire situation. Del didn’t ruin things by focusing so much on what this relationship was rather than just enjoying how things turned out. Del couldn’t actually say whether she was dating Atticus or not, but eventually it would all be figured out she was sure.

A dry laugh escaped at Atticus assumption, “True girls do have the tendency to chit-chat about just about anything. Gossip is a favoured past time.” She sighed knowing that particular stereotype was true, girls just had to talk about things especially boys. It was hard not to like talking about boys because the reason you were talking about them was because they made you flustered and it was an exhilarating feeling. “My friends know about you. A few just know about my shock at your drawing me. Waker knows I like you though.” When Delilah thought about it Waker was the only one that knew she liked him and Waker was completely confused as to why. Delilah had done a good job of making Atticus out to being a complete weirdo, which now she completely regrets. From that moment when she tripped over him the first time she had been fascinated by him and that fascination turned to attraction, which landed her in the situation, she was currently in.

“A hermit?” Del looked at him with a raised eyebrow. “I guess I could see where they might get that idea from.” Delilah blushed a bit hoping she had not insulted him. Delilah was curious if his friends would ever hear about her from Atticus and most of all she was concerned as to whether she would gain their approval. Delilah knew it was silly to think like that but she just couldn’t help it. It was just as she thought about whether her friends would approve of Atticus and more importantly if they would approve of him. Delilah was most worried as to what Dagan’s thoughts would be on the subject of Atticus. Delilah knew she was particularly critical when it came to girls Dagan chose.
