The Divination Club Needs You! on August 28, 2012, 02:41:43 PM Divination ClubHello everyone! Elijah is now the new Divination Club president and I really want to get things running. I've created this thread for a couple of reasons:Figure out a tentative roster. See who's interested in the club and who's already a 'member'. One meeting is a visitor, two is a member.Give me ideas on what kinds of fun club threads you'd like to see.Ideas:I was thinking we could have a First/Second year initiation night, where we set up tables and stuff and have the younger students come in and have their futures told, but we'd lie to them and tell them all sorts of crazy Trelawney type stuff. Not exactly divination but maybe we can do a scavenger hunt through the castle and grounds to find... specific rare tools for forsight? Maybe?Divination Day - I think this was done before... but we could have all the members set up different booths (probably in the great hall since it's cold out) with different forms of divination (someone could read tea leafs, someone could read tarot, etc.)If we have enough interest, we could hold an election to add in other positions like VP, Secretary, Treasurer... things like thatThat's all I've got. Please post your ideas in a reply and I'll add them to the list!Roster:Elijah Grimlish - President - 6th YearLigeia Canterbury - Member - 6th YearWinifred Oliver - Member - 4th YearObderedria Pienas - Jr. Member - 2nd YearAgatha Pellegrino - Visiting Member - Salem Institute SeniorOnce we have an idea of what's what, I'll create the club page on the wiki Skip to next post Re: The Divination Club Needs You! Would take the subject in her third year and would be good for the first/second year readings. Do I take it there's no point of being in the club if you haven't been introduced to the subject yet? I'll add them to the roster!I think that the club should be all about the people who have never been introduced to Divination! I don't want to make the club all about sitting and reading tarot or really most of the time 'doing' divination. I would rather the club be a community effort where we just come together and have fun with the future. No previous experience or expertise necessary. And if you just want to visit for a meeting, to see what it's all about, that's cool too! The Divination Club is open for everyone. I think, even though it's a Hogwarts club, that even the visiting schools can join up. Elijah's not the kind of guy that's going to discriminate based on where you go to school. Also... off topic, but I think we need a name, other than Divination Club. That sounds kinda boring and lame. Something awesome and wizardly, even though I can't think of anything right now. Ideas? Could be another meeting thread, naming the group. Skip to next post Re: The Divination Club Needs You! Reply #3 on August 30, 2012, 10:41:04 PM I dunno if foriegn students are allowed to join clubs, But Aggie loves Divination. She might be willing to come to a few meetings Skip to next post Re: The Divination Club Needs You! Reply #4 on August 30, 2012, 11:03:54 PM Well... even if they can't be 'members' they can still come and partake in the funstuffs. And maybe we can do like... a different tarot card for every member that talks to you and tells you when and where the next meeting's going to take place or something? I dunno... maybe I'm taking it too far now >.< Skip to next post Re: The Divination Club Needs You! Reply #5 on September 01, 2012, 12:54:06 AM Divination is one of the few classes which Winifred genuinely enjoys and is actually good at. She would have been a member of the Divination club as long as she would have been allowed- if first/second years were allowed in when she was younger (since it is a class available 3rd year and up). There was a plot once I started (but didn't get through for various reasons- mostly my real life exploding) where Winnie tried to convince people she was a Seer and took a crystal ball down to the entrance hall and told first years they were going to die and crazy shiz like that.I think the idea of "initiation" is absolutely hilarious. And Winnie would be good at it. she's very LOUD MELODRAMATIC AND OBNOXIOUS, though. But I would absolutely love to have her involved Skip to next post Re: The Divination Club Needs You! Reply #7 on September 02, 2012, 12:42:11 AM Ananke loves all of this and would love to be involved somehow. Initiation night sounds awesome, obvs, and Ananke would even dress up in exaggerated garbs and make deadpan serious comments about everything and support all of Winnie's dramatics and secretly be amused about it all >_> Maybe if one of the first or second years get wise about it then they can all laugh it up, or wait until the next meeting or next day to be all silly about it and do something fun. Setting up booths and telling fortunes also sounds fun! For scavenger hunt stuff, maybe they're looking for objects? Like they're given one object that's from some part of the castle, but they have to use some divination techniques to find exactly where, and that's when/where they find the next object that's from another room and then they just keep doing that all over again. I also think it would be fun if they brought a lot of random objects and tried to divine their past or just figure out what their purpose use to be. Sort of a totally nerdy and dorky approach but I think it'd be a fun calm activity to do--if that makes sense lol. Skip to next post Re: The Divination Club Needs You!
