    Family History:

The Torret family began with two members of the Touret family, a pure-blood family in France in the 13th century. The first two Torrets were the two youngest sons of the family, the sixth and seventh. The sixth son was name Namus Touret and the seventh son Aymon Touret. Aymon Touret, after he finished his wizard schooling, decided he didn't want to participate in the family business of black market trade to be a magizoologist. He convinced his brother, Namus Touret, to also get a better job. The two were disowned from the family when both refused to join the family business, and stripped of their wands and all other belongings to be sold. This enraged Aymon, who snuck into the house in the middle of the night, stole two brooms and a stash of money that had been made illegally and was kept under some floorboards. Both Aymon and his brother flew North on the brooms until they reached land, which happened to be the Isle of Wight in England. The two brothers agreed to change the 'u' in their last name to an 'r', to start a different family. Thus the Torret family was founded. It has been said by Torrets that this change was suggested by Aymon, who is known as the first Torret because of this, and it is also believed that Aymon was the brother who decided the family would be founded on the better in the world. Kindness and generosity were the two main principles. He is the more honored of the two.
The two Torrets settled in the heath of a dense forest, where they used all the stolen money to build a stone manor. The manor was named 'Torret Manor'. It was there that Aymon and Namus started the family.
The Torret family tale 'The Tale of the Seventh Son'[1] is a story that focuses around Aymon and how the family was founded, exaggerating the deeds the two did. It was written by Aymon's daughter. This tale has been told to all of the generations of Torrets and is used as a moral story for the family.
The two brothers, after settling in the Torret Manor, quickly discovered that the forest was home to many fairies. These fairies soon became family pets, after tamed, and the hairs of these fairies were the cores of the first Torret family wands. This tradition would continue while the family lived within the Torret Manor. The Torret family over time became known for two things: keeping fairies around the how and their talent with charms.
The family crest was created by Aymon's grandson, who, like his aunt, made his descendant seem more important by honoring Aymon in the crest. Namus's line died out in the third generation of the Torrets when his only grandson was killed. Though none of the family alive at the time confirmed this for future generations, it is believed he was killed during a family gathering when everyone had been drinking. A fight broke out between whose line was superior and it quickly came to violence before being broken up.
The family became a halfblood family during the 6th generation in the early 18th century. One of the members married a muggleborn, and soon any pureblood in the family died out. The last pure-blood of the family was the great  grandfather of Ignatius Torret, current elder of the Torret family.
The family gave up the Torret Manor during the 10th generation, after no more pure-blood remained in the family. The manor was so far away from an civilization, it was decided that, as a halfblood family, the manor was no longer needed. The stone manor was sealed away with several powerful charms that could be undone if one tried, so later on if it was desired again it could be recovered. The exact location of the manor is only known by the family elder, Ignatius Torret, and at his death will be passed on to the next family elder.
