Wand:

Ferris's wand is twelve inches long and made from swishy apple wood with a smooth texture that is 12 inches long and has a core of unicorn hair.

Physical Description:

Ferris has inherited his family's dark complexion with his light caramel colored skin and dark black hair. Taking the dark brown, almost black eyes, from his father and his mother's lithe and agile frame; Ferris is truly a child of the Archibald line. While the he did get his father's eyes, Ferris has something else to them that is all his own, a gleam of gentle kindness and a willingness to help others. Ferris is not an over confident boy but is secure is his own accomplishments. This mean that if you were to pass him in the hall your eyes would simply glide right over him.

Normally, Ferris prefers to wear the robes that are standard for Hogwarts students. However, when alone or at his family's manner Ferris prefers to wear comfortable muggle clothing much to the chagrin of his parents. This normally means a pair of basketball shorts and a t-shirt. Whenever possible the boy prefers to go barefoot and spend time out in the sun.

Personality Description:

Ferris is a rather interesting individual, sort of the black sheep of the family. The other two Archibald children, a younger sister and older brother, both have drive to become a major member of the Ministry; they desire power and control over the masses. Ferris on the other hand has no such illusions. The middle Archibald child seeks nothing more than to help others and has chosen to direct his studies in a way that will best allow him to do this. In order to be the most help to the greatest amount of people, Ferris aims to become a famous and powerful healer. However, this isn’t enough for his parents who think that their child is not pushing himself to the fullest potential; in fact, they see Ferris as something of a lost cause. Generally, they leave Ferris to his own devices which is just the way he likes it.

The environment that Ferris grew up in was not exactly conductive to a normal healthy child. He was always compared to his older brother who Ferris could never seem to live up to. And if Maximus got all their pride then Priscilla got all their love. Three years younger than Ferris, Priscilla was a righteous brat who tortured her brother to no end; often breaking things or destroying items and then framing Ferris for it. This instilled within the young boy a natural distrust for authority due to the fact that his parents never seemed to be able to do anything. From his brother he got an overwhelming sense of incompetence and the will and determination to one day surpass his brother.

Ferris does have some . . . issues though. The best way to describe Ferris’s mind set is by the following scenario. If Ferris was confronted by the decision of having to save a small ground of people at the price of a larger group of people and vice versa; he would sacrifice the small for the large. Though his intentions are pure, Ferris believes that the end justifies the means and will do whatever he can to reach them. Not exactly immoral or amoral, Ferris is willing to bend the rules to get what needs to be done. This side of him is not something most people get to see due to the fact that Ferris is also a fairly socially awkward boy. Not having very many friends growing up, the only people even close to his own age that Ferris interacted with were his siblings. This lends to a very awkward first encounter with Ferris, though if you can manage to break through the shy cocoon that Ferris erects around himself you will find a kind and intelligent boy.

History:

Ferris was born in the county side of England on a moderate estate that had been owned by the Archibald family for several generations. His parents were Celina and Luther Archibald, both members of the Ministry who were able to prove their separation from Voldermort at his death. Ferris was preceded by his older brother Maximus, who is five years his senior, and followed by Priscilla, three years his junior. His family is of moderate wealth, being able to live comfortably with some to spend on the end. For a rather brief period of time right after he was born, Ferris was the apple of his parent’s eyes but this was doomed to come to a crashing end. They soon found that their son lacked to drive and motivation to truly make something of himself in the world and it was this realization that made them want to have another child. Yes, that’s right; Ferris was such a failure in his parent’s eyes that they decided to conceive another child.

This left Ferris somewhere in the middle. The time and attention that had once been his was split between his brother and sister, leaving nothing for Ferris. The young boy somehow managed to adjust but finding joy in the loneliness that his parents thrust him in. Ferris began to enjoy the world around him, exploring nature and the natural beauty within it. It was here that he first decided to become a healer when at the age of eight he found an abandoned baby bird with a broken wing. With painstaking kindness and attention, Ferris raised the bird and healed it out of the kindness of his heart.  Ferris decided then and there that this was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life and began to spend his time studying.

The rest of his young life passed without too much incident. There was the usual undercutting of his achievement s by his parents and the torture from his siblings but for the most part, Ferris didn’t let it affect him. When his Hogwarts letter finally arrived Ferris was overjoyed, even though the fact he was going to get one was a forgone conclusion, it meant that he could finally take the first step on the journey to his dream. His parents were loath to take their son to get his things, but for the sake of propriety did so. It was at Diagon Alley that Ferris was confronted with an unequivocal fact that his parents did not find him worthy to be their child. When Maximus had come of age and entered into the school, he had been given the wand of their grandfather. Ferris naturally assumed that he would inherit his grandmothers. When he asked his parents about this they laughed in his face and told Ferris that his sister would get the wand of his grandmother. It was thus, with tear streaming down his face and feeling rejected by his parents that Ferris got his wand. It wasn’t until the slender piece of wood was in his hand that Ferris underwent another change in view. As the power of the wand synced with the power within Ferris he made a promise to himself and his wand that one day he would surpass his older brother and make something of himself.

During his first year at Hogwarts Ferris was finally able to develop himself away from his parents. Not making very many friends, mostly due to his sorting into Slytherin, Ferris found joy in the art of potion making and herbology; choosing to spend a lot of his free time working with the professors of these classes. The extra time Ferris exerted on these subjects was reflected by his grades when he received above average marks in Potion-Making, Herbology, and Charms. The rest of the subjects Ferris only scored average in with D.A.D.A being the only subject he really struggled in. Ferris returned to his parents’ house for the summer where he spent the majority of his time studying and hiding in the forest. He eagerly awaits his return to Hogwarts where he can begin his studies once more.

It was one of those days again, one of those days when the girls in Chiyeko’s class had chosen to forgo their normal tactic of ignoring and attack her. It started off bad with some road kill stuffed in her locker at the beginning of the day and from there it just went from bad to worse. In homeroom they had somehow managed to tie her shoes together so that when Chiyeko stood she fell flat on her face. At PE they decided to cut up all her cloths to make it so that Chiyeko couldn’t dress out. This meant that not only did she get screamed at by the gym teacher but had to spend the rest of the day smelling of sweat. All in all, just not a good day but it was over now and Chiyeko had the afternoon to herself.

Instead of going home and spending the rest of the day there with her mother before her father got home, Chiyeko decided to visit the library instead to exchange the books she had for something new. The library was just a few blocks from her house and Chiyeko spent enough time there that all the staff knew her and her preferences by name.

As she walked through the door Chiyeko was greeted by the elderly librarian who worked behind the circulation desk, “Good afternoon Chiyeko-chan, here to get something new or just for some reading?” Chiyeko immediately bowed at the woman and lowered her head, mumbling to the floor, “I’m here to get some new books today Togo-sama, and then I was going to read for a little before I went home if that’s acceptable.” The librarian smiled at Chiyeko and silently wished to herself that the child let her sunny side through more often. She patted Chiyeko on the head and held out a book for her to take, “Well here you go Chiyeko-chan, this is a new book we just got in today and I thought you would like the first read.” Lifting her head just long enough to read the title of the book, Chiyeko’s eyes widened and for a split second she looked into the eyes of the librarian with a huge smile plastered on her face before blushing a deep red and looking back down. Chiyeko took the book from the librarian with both hands, “Thank you very much Togo-sama.” Without another word Chiyeko turned her back and ran up the stairs, her pigtails swinging back and forth.

As she bounded up the stairs Chiyeko let a little giggle escape from her and her face began to brighten. Finally away from the masses that surrounded her throughout the day she began to let the shell slip. With every step she took more and more of the quiet unassuming girl that most people saw melted away into a bounding ball of energy and laughter! As she reached the third floor, Chiyeko was practically skipping down the aisle until she reached the last set of shelves.

As she rounded the corner, Chiyeko laid eyes on the one person in the entire world she actually looked forward to seeing! “Oji-san!!!!!” Standing at the end of the shelf was a small old man that appeared to be in his late 50’s reading the titles of the books on the shelf. At the sound of Chiyeko’s voice he turned to her and a kind smile spread across his face, “Aye Chiyeko-chan. I am glad you came to see me today.” The young girl giggled and walked down that aisle with the book extended before her, “Of course I came Oji-san! I told you I would!!! And look, it’s finally in!” Chiyeko punctuated this sentence with a little pirouette. The old man let out a little chuckle and walked . . . or rather floated down the aisle to take a look at it. You see, the old man was not a human at all, well he used to be but that was several years ago. Now the man was a ghost that haunted the library, a ghost that Chiyeko had befriended. “Indeed it is! Would you care to read it to me?” Chiyeko giggled again, “I thought you’d never ask!” She sunk down to the floor and rested her back against the shelf and began to read to the old ghost.

Sum up your character in one paragraph: Ferris is a dark haired, dark eyed, skinny tan boy with a hear of gold. He has a determination and drive within him that very few people are able to match. Ferris aims to become one of the most powerful healers in the world and will do whatever he can to reach that threshold. Quite handy in the garden and with the cauldron, Ferris is gifted in Herbology and Potions due the fact he pours  a lot of his time and energy into this subject. Despite being very kind, Ferris has very few friends.
